Slieve Donard is the highest mountain here in Northern Ireland in the beautiful seaside town of Newcastle. A fabulous trek and incredible views await all who make it p to the top. At an average walking pace it takes about 2.5hrs to make it to the summit!

Do you enjoy a trek up the mountains? What's your preferred way to sped a sunny day?

This is our local beach. Well...we have about eleven of them here actually! One thing you're never short of here is a good, clean, sandy, wise and lovely beach! We have the best in the country!

But this one is probably the most well known, Portstewart Strand. It's waters are the wonderful North Atlantic Ocean, incredibly cold and refreshing for winter sea swimming ( I speak from experience1). It has sand dunes for miles and the gorgeous Mussenden Temple on the cliffs above!

A gorgeous spot, popular with families, dog walkers, surfers, bodyboarders and foilers alike! Such a great place for a day at the beach!

What is your favourite local beach called and what do you love about it?

Forest visits on a glorious sunny, warm, peaceful day. Twigs cracking under your shoes, cooling shade beneath the low hanging boughs of the ancient trees, collecting leaves and pebbles, foraging and relaxing.

Spontaneous living takes organisation!

We have a gorgeous forest only three minutes drive from our front door. We've lived here for 9 months and only found it about 5 weeks ago.

Since our new discovery, we've visited a number of times with friends, as a family and when family have visited. We love foraging for mushrooms there, we've built a tree den that people seem to be adding to...it's always bigger when we go back! There's even a wee family of rats that we watch trying to steal the bird fed an elderly couple always leave out! The kids munch on Sticky W**d as we walk and pull strips off the fallen Silver Birch that didn't make it through recent winds and use it as their paper when they get home!

Where do you enjoy popping out to when you've only got limited time but you need a good dose of nature?

We are lovers of a system here! Hacks and tricks to make things easy in life!

We have our systems in place to make running the home easier, systems to help us both get our work done more efficiently, we have systems with our budgeting and our meal planning! Systems everywhere and we love it!

Who spent some time outside in this fabulous weather today?

We are based in the gorgeous North Coast of Northern Ireland, the undisputed home of the best beaches in the country, best surfing spots, wonderful seaside parks, gorgeous forest walks and likely the highest population of fearless sea swimmers who head into the freezing Atlantic Ocean even in the depths of winter!

It is this wonderful place we call home, and the joy it is to live here that inspired the creation of our store, Outdoor Adventure Hacks!
