Our fur-baby, Akino, went to heaven yesterday.☁️🐕 He passed at home in "his spot" with us loving on him & petting him. It was very peaceful.
We've brought him to the Vet to be cremated. We are heartbroken.💔
There are few words to describe the feelings of losing your best friend. He was that and more! He was 20 months old when we got him and just had his 12th birthday on July 4th. He came to us with training, good manners and the energy of a 4-year old child. He was such a good & loving dog! We shared so many fun times together. My heart is breaking because I miss him so much already but I know he is being well looked after in heaven where he can run & play again without pain. RIP our sweet boy. We will meet again one day. Gimme your paw! (7/4/2012 - 8/23/2024)

Here's a fun little project that I recently completed! Made from (mostly) recycled materials. I glued dried flowers on plastic discs (cut from produce containers) and set inside of old mason jar rings (spray painted) using twine to attach to pieces of branches cit from from my tree.

The Elio Rug! This is my 2nd one!!

Designed by and made in 100% cotton yarn. I used 24/7 Cotton in 'Hay Bale' and 'Magenta'.

I crocheted some hats using scraps of yarn (all same weight) and I call them "Scrappy Hats"! They are so colorful! They might be made of scraps, bit they'll keep your head warm!

I'm actually going to donate them for a clothing/accessory swap event in a couple of weeks.

I'm revisiting an original pattern of mine to make a dragonfly scarf using 100% Superwash Merino 2-ply fi*****ng weight yarn (fine). I've only made 1 of these before and it recently sold to a special Sassenach Sister. I need one for myself to go with my 18th century Outlander-inspired outfits! I may also need some matching wrist warmers!

Made a Lonesome Highway Beanie for myself (Pattern by Wild Sapling) using yarn leftover from shawl/vest I made for myself a few years ago! I'm happy I had just enough yarn to make it!

New crochet hats hit the shop inventory today! I call it a Beanie. Some call it a Toque or a Watch Cap. What do you call it? I also call it "how I keep my head warm"!!

I spent the day yesterday as a guide for the American Revolution Experience exhibit. It was a learning experience as well as fun, not to mention a good excuse to dress in an 18th century outfit and talk to people about history!

The American Revolution Experience Exhibit was hosted by the Louisiana State Daughters of the American Revolution, Southeast District from February 26 thru March 2, 2024 at Chalmette High School Cultural Arts Center, Chalmette, LA.

I'm ready to go! I will be assisting my D.A.R. sisters as a guide and docent for the American Revolution Experience Exhibit! Let's start the celebrations as we approach America's 250th Birthday!

The exhibit is hosted by the Louisiana State Daughters of the American Revolution, Southeast District. The Oliver Po***ck Chapter is the first chapter in the State of Louisiana to host this traveling exhibit!

It is open to the public TODAY, Saturday, March 2, 2024. The exhibit is free and available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The exhibit is at Chalmette High School Cultural Arts Center, 2600 Palmisano Blvd, Chalmette, LA. It is a great learning experience for adults and children alike!

Designed by and made in 100% cotton yarn. I used 24/7 Cotton for the Denim color and Knit and Crochet Yarn for the Charcoal (Gray).

Catching up on posting a personal project that I finished a few months ago, I give you the Shiloh Tee! Designed by Hooked Hazel for an Aug. 2021 Stitch Together Official CAL (Crochet-A-Long), it took me almost 2 years to get to it! So many projects, so little time!

The premium hand-dyed yarn is from Daisy Stitch Co. . I used the Texas Strong Fi*****ng yarn in a 80% Superwash Merino Wool / 20% Nylon fiber blend. The color is called 'Golden Moss Speckle'.

The design is super comfy to wear and the yarn is very soft and feels nice against my skin! I'm so happy with this new top added to my wardrobe!
