Eclectic elegance meets classic comfort in this swanky living room! This space is filled with so many wood tones and rich colors that all tie into the coral Persian rug! In true BBB fashion, we found the coziest camel sofa and we covered the wall in a variety of gold framed prints. The ring light floor lamp was the perfect piece to elevate this space!

It’s always fun to pull together all the art prints. We especially loved the brain pin-up and of course our tatted tiger girl in the center. Which art print on the gallery wall is your favorite?!

Relax and unwind in this tranquil retreat! This bedroom is adorned with natural woods and lush greenery. The rust orange bed frame harmonizes with the abstract fringe rug and patterned lamps, while the olive tree atop the console table and the basket filled with blanket give this space that sense of home away from home! 🪴🧺🧡

We got this rug before we knew where it was going to go because we loved it so much! What’s your favorite thing about this bedroom?!

Embrace the timeless allure of navy blues, crisp whites, dark woods, and hints of gold in this sophisticated slumber! This bedroom welcomes all textures with the jute woven rug, the linen channeled headboard, and the antique gold mirror above it! 💙💙

We especially love the charming little frenchie and head sculpture! What’s your favorite part of the blue room?!

The Jack & Jill 👫

Last but certainly not least(of the most bedrooms)!! We decided to make these bedrooms true twins and I’m so happy we did because I can’t get enough of these bed frames! 😍

The Cozy Room 🐋

The room name speaks for itself! Adding wood and natural tones with pops of teal transformed this room and filled it with so much warmth. Every time we walked in this room it felt so tranquil & cozy!
🤍🤍🤍

🌴The Green Room 🌴

By the end of the project this became our favorite bedroom!
💚💚
From the pops of green in the palm tree art, throw pillow, lamp and decor, to the natural wood tones and rattan textures, everything in here tied together so perfectly to create a timeless beachy look! (with a hint of MCM)
💚💚

The Master Bedroom 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️🏄

We brought so much color & warmth into this space from the surfboard abstract art to the cane bedroom set!

To give this master a special touch, shipped us a one of a kind tree with hand picked driftwood from Holden Beach! The one foot tree is the perfect decor for any beach home and comes with a unique shell topper! 🐚🪸

The Entry 🐚

When entering the home, you’re greeted by the natural, modern lines provided by this slat wall that allowed this space to transform from rustic to refined! ✨

This spin on the usual overhead beach photograph as an oil painting is so playful🏖️ And don’t miss the detail of that artisan seashell vase! 🤩🤩

Next up, we have the Living Room! 🛋️

We were able to create this timeless beachy look by incorporating lots of natural tones & textures that you would see around the home. This space feels so warm and cozy but has just enough colorful modern accessories to make it feel lux!✨
Adding some of these fixtures inspired by marine life, like the pearl lamp kept the space beachy without being kitschy! 🐚🐋🌊

The people have spoken… first up - The Dining Room and Kitchen 🍽️

Adding natural furniture & fixtures like this beautiful hardwood table and woven leather counter stools, brought such an organic warmth to this space that was finished off by adding in some fun decor to the kitchen shelves! 🪸🐠 What was once an almost monochromatic space that felt washed out is now filled with rich colors that allow the accents to shine through! The backsplash looks like a completely new tile 🤩.

Gulch Condo | Bathroom

Last, but certainly not least! This mid century modern meets boho bathroom features metals, a mix of wood tones, and textured wovens from some of our favorite stores around town🤩

This mirror was exactly what we were looking for to fill the space! Not to mention we love finding a beautiful piece on sale 🤑 shout

We also loved this adorable little tub decor from If you get one, we recommend filling it with cotton balls for the bubble bath look 🛁😄

Gulch Condo | Living Space

I love this space so much I want to live here!!! 🤩🤩

This mid century modern Nashville rental was a blast to design and is hands down our favorite project yet 🙌🏼. The variety of textures, colors, patterns, and wood tones brought life to an otherwise dark space. With only 2 months to complete, we shopped online & in store searching for the most unique MCM pieces, while still taking the budget into consideration. We will definitely share a link when the short term rental calendar is up and running!

The artwork is a mix of artists from and my talented sister - make sure you check out her website!

Our favorite pieces are the hanging lights & the console table which both came from if you have a location near you, run don’t walk!!

🤩New Year, New Chandelier🤩

We have officially changed every ceiling fixture in this house💡This one was the toughest to find (which was frustrating because I’ve been complaining about it since we toured the home😅) It had to be on a chain because the builder centered the fixture to the whole room, not the dining area. So, yes, we hit our heads on it all the time. 🤕

I’m so happy we waited until we found the perfect fixture for the space. Do you love it as much as we do?! ❤️💡

She’s up!! She’s finally up!! 🥰
For months this beauty laid over the half wall waiting to be hung. We debated asking the construction workers across the street to borrow a ladder. I even considered getting on JT’s shoulders because I wanted it hung so badly(do not try this at home). And Alas! Two doors down I found the ladder plug.
Shout out to our neighbors for having not one, but TWO ladders. Much appreciated!! 🙌🏼🪜🙌🏼

Do y’all love it as much as we do?!

Phew! These cabinets have tested our patience y’all! 😅

Painting cabinets has been our most challenging job yet. 🧑🏼‍🎨👩🏼‍🎨 Sanding & brushing each cabinet door required much attention to detail, but we love the way the white brought out the depth of the beveled faces! The many hours were worth being able to revitalize these well made cabinet doors. 🤩

Just goes to show that you don’t always have to replace your cabinets. Sometimes just a fresh coat of paint & a new set of hardware can make your kitchen feel brand new! ✨ It also feels really empowering at the end of a project to see all of your hard work pay off! 🙌🏼

On the first day of spring, we took our talents to the front yard! 🌞

In order to conquer this flower bed, we headed out to SouthBranch Nursery. They hooked us up with some blooming shrubs & ground cover.🌱 We are anxiously awaiting for these babies to bloom & for this to become the next “before” picture. ☺️🌸

Out with the dust collectors and in with the new... or however that saying goes! 😉

These new fixtures’ mixed material really tied in to our natural feel while bringing just enough metal to keep a modern and clean look for the kitchen. While they did require some rewiring to get the look we wanted, JT’s amateur electrician skills held up to the challenge! 👷🏼👷🏼‍♀️

There’s snow place like home - where we’ve been snowed in all week here in Nashville! ❄️ In true southern fashion, JT doesn’t really do the snow, but Saint seems to have a little New Yorker in him 😉. Fingers crossed Spring is around the corner, because we have got lots of new projects coming soon 🛠 🌸

What do y’all think of Saint’s gargoyles? ☃️⛄️

Progress pics from our bestie’s apartment here in Nashville 🌆.

We tackle projects big and small. Finding artwork that gives your space a touch of you can be the hardest part 🖼. We hand picked each of these pieces to be representative of the client. We even arranged them digitally before ordering (anyone else a visual learner? 🤚🏼). Best part: JT is an expert when it comes to hanging the art😙. As always here at Built By Burden, just because a space isn’t permanently yours doesn’t mean you can’t make it feel like your own! ✨

After seeing it up on the wall, do y’all think we should add a third row?

This bathroom refresh is complete 🤩

A conversation with a friend about a Dolly Parton shower curtain turned into a complete solution for their bathroom woes! This space is not just the bathroom, but also storage for holiday decor, backstock, and cleaning products. It still is, everything just has a home now. Since this is a rental, we only chose products that could be taken with her when she leaves. Just because a space isn’t permanently yours doesn’t mean you can’t make it feel like your own!

~Keeping up with the full home remodel~

Finally: The Bedroom 🛌
A BBB rule of thumb - let your bed welcome you in from a long hard day! While we normally wouldn’t block a window wall, who can resist waking up to a skyline view? 🏙✨

Recognize the fan? We loved it so much we put it in our house too!

Next up: The Living Space 🛋
With the use of leather furniture & wooden elements, we took this space from bachelor sad and upgraded it to a sophisticated yet natural, rustic vibe.

Our first full home renovation!

Our client purchased this condo in 2019, and no changes had been made since it was built in 2003.

First up - The Kitchen 🍽
Choosing the right color palette is one of the most important steps when refreshing a space. The warm tone cabinets & black appliances were swallowing the natural wood floors. So, we painted the cabinets white and tied everything together by adding cooler tones throughout, achieving the light and airy kitchen design they desired!

But first, let me take a shelfie!

What was once an awkward, bare wall under the stairs is now a home for our cookbooks & spices! We’re so happy with how these floating shelves came out. Don’t y’all love how the stain brought out the unique wood grains?

to one of our very first projects at our rental in Memphis! This was my first time using a sander and I could not feel my arm for two days 😅. While the bar wasn’t ours to keep, you know we got a lot of use out of it 🤪🍻

Back in the office! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break ✨

When the pandemic hit, I reluctantly had to share my home office with JT 🙃. With video calls being the new norm, we often found ourselves in meetings at the same time. I had to come up with a creative solution for our space. I converted our office closet into my own office. Now, all I have to do is close the door to avoid office drama😉

How do y’all like my corner office with a view?🤪
