Doesn’t it suddenly feel like fall? These last couple of weeks were definitely sprinkled with little hints that fall is on the way. It happens every year and for some reason, it still takes me by surprise.

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR. I’m not yelling, just excited!

Along with fall comes the return of my cookie decorating classes. I’ve posted a few dates with more classes to come. My first Halloween cookie decorating class has sold out, so thank you, everyone!

No worries though. I’ve added another Halloween cookie class and it’s on sale too! The sale ends on 9.5 unless it sells out before then. Here’s the link:

https://www.flourdelis.com/product/peek-a-boo-halloween-cookie-decorating-class/49?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=6

This class is so fun and the cookies are super cute. I’ve included pics of my class setup and some behind the scenes prep too!

I have a bunch more classes to add. There’s a cozy fall class, a Friday Night Lights class for all you cheer and football fans and several Christmas classes too.
I hate to sound like a used car salesperson, but the classes tend to sell out quickly so if you see something you like, grab it.

I’ll be branching out into different craft mediums too. Stay tuned!

Hey, everyone!

Our business number has been changed. The reason? No fewer that 40 spam calls a day. I’m sure you’ve received the same calls from an automated “person” calling to inquire about your Google listing or some nonsense. They are phishing calls and if you answer, they continue. Not sure exactly what the goal is.

As you may know, I work alone. And since I work alone, it’s not so easy to answer calls in between batches of cookie dough and royal icing once I set up my work area. I have to wash and sanitize my hands in between each phone call, which I wouldn’t mind if the call were from someone needing cookie/cake help. But they’re not.

So I cancelled the old number and will be without a new one for a few days. There wasn’t supposed to be a service lapse, but here we are lol.
If you’re trying to reach me, I would love to chat! Please send me a message through Messenger, Instagram or email. We can discuss things there or I can return your call.

Thanks as always!

PS old pic because it’s one of my favorites!

Still printing away! I purchased most of the files for classes that I’ll be teaching in the next several weeks and I have become addicted to printing! Printing in between cleaning, organizing and even a haircut, I was able to print 40 cookie cutters!

I think it’s because I had such low expectations in my abilities to accomplish this that I’m pleasantly surprised by what I’ve done! I guess it’s one of those things that in your mind becomes much worse than the reality of it. And all this time I could do it.

Now, all of the credit goes to the company that makes this printer. It really is an entry-level, beginner friendly machine. If you’re like me, and you really didn’t want to have to learn so many technical aspects in order to be able to print cookie cutters and maybe some other cookie gadgets, this is the perfect machine.

30/08/2024

I did it, I bought a 3 d printer! A 3-D printer was something I really didn’t want to buy as I was perfectly happy ordering cookie cutters from the amazingly talented vendors that I work with. But the writing is on the wall and it seems that most of the cookie cutter vendors are beginning to lean toward cutter files along with physical cutters. Several of my vendors have gone to files only, so I think we’re heading toward phasing out cutters altogether. And when the two designers that I hold in high regard went to files as an option, that was the signal for me to buy a printer!
I didn’t want to buy one because I was terrified to learn how to use it! But this printer could literally not be any easier to use. I was up and printing within minutes of opening the box and setting everything up. I’m not exaggerating!
So along with cookie pics and cookie class pics, I will be posting a variety of cutter prints as well! And isn’t the lavender filament color so pretty? I was looking for a color that matched my logo and this lavender is such a pretty lilac. I love it!

Cookie decorating students……are we interested in one final Taylor Swift Cookie Decorating Class? I’m not sure why, but I’ve had a few people reach out this last week or so expressing interest in attending a class.

I don’t have anything currently scheduled, but would need to have at least 10 students to hold the class and a max of 16. I’ve done 12 Taylor Swift classes this year, so this one would be 13! Is that a sign?

These have been some of my most fun classes this year, lots of energy, listening to Taylor, singing, sharing concert stories…..

I’m thinking December to coincide with the end of the Eras tour. I’ve done two different classes, the beginner version and the intermediate level class which is much more detailed with lots of colors, methods etc. I’ll do some gifting in that class too, like the set of Taylor Swift cutters I use in the class and a seat at a future class.

Any interest?

It’s tiiiiiiiimmeeeeee!!!!! 🎶🎅🏻

Actually, not quite yet, but here are just some of the Christmas and holiday classes I’ll be offering soon.

These always book up super quick and once a class is closed to booking, I’ll add more dates.

I’m particularly excited about the platters cookie classes. I’ll be holding some of these classes during the evening so that students will have their cookie platters ready to bring to weekend holiday parties!

I’ll also have the option for students to order a take home kit which will allow them to recreate more cookies at home.

And this year I’ll be teaching a nativity set. This one will be simple enough for beginners and the design is so simple and beautiful.

Super excited for these classes! Can’t wait to see everyone!

Simple but adorable cookies for twin babies!

The designs were loosely based on the invite plus some super cute ideas from the mom. I added the clothesline because s close line is always super cute.

The colors are much more muted pastels which I love. I use many of my darker colors for pastels just by using the tiniest amounts of color, then I mute the shades further with the addition of ivory, blush, slate etc.

If you’d like to schedule a private class, love to have your group! I can teach a class at my shop or on location so please reach out for more information or to schedule a class.

Wild One first birthday cookies! These were based on a picture provided by the client so I’m not sure who to thank for the inspo, but thanks!

I love that the design was still super cute and baby friendly theme with the baby animals. I’ve done a lot of wild one sets and this one is absolutely one of my favorites!

The color palette by Americolor included, bright white, slate, cypress, silver spruce, burnt ember, orange and black. There was lots of mixing to get the palette just right so the colors you see here have all been custom mixed as opposed to straight from the bottle.

A few more cookies from yesterday.

I love these cookies so much! Made for a little girl baby sprinkle ☔️

Here’s the after cookie! And the rest of the set for a bridal shower.

The entire palette was built around the gorgeous floral pattern featuring shades of violet, purple, salmon, peach, hydrangea and periwinkle.

The ring and cake were both created with direct to cookie printing, then accented with hand piped leaves and flowers. Fondant roses too!

07/07/2024

Did you know I can take a picture of your wedding cake (or anything, really) and create a miniature royal icing version of it for your decorated cookies?

Look how cool this is! Stay tuned for the finished product!

Photos from City Girl Cookies's post 05/07/2024

I’ve done what seems like a million Capri - esque, lemon and cobalt tile inspired cookies but look how pretty these lemons are with this violet and purple palette!

I used a combo of royal purple, electric purple and wedgewood, plus lemon yellow, bright white, v***r and slate. Edit: the greens are a combo of laurel, cypress and avocado. All by Americolor.

The florals are both fondant and royal icing. The curved petal roses are hand formed by me! Yes, they are fondant and I make them petal by petal. Molds are great for many shapes and flowers, but you’ll never get that tight roses center with a mold. Unfortunately lol. It would save me literal hours and sore fingers and wrists!

Classic Winnie the Pooh cookies! Here’s a sneak peek!

These last few weekends have been winding down to some of the final graduation cookies for this season. Not only have a made lots of cookies for graduates that I don’t personally know, but many cookies were made for those who I’ve had a personal relationship with.

Here’s a set from one of my youngest’s best friends. They became instant friends through cheer several years ago and now the road they travel will split as one goes off to college while the other has one more year to go. I’m sure they will remain friends.

So, congrats to Brooklynn! Wishing you all the best on your journey through college!

Look at this color palette! I love non traditional bridal colors for wedding/bridal showers cookies.

I just started my prep work for an upcoming set which will feature some traditional bridal shower cookie shapes paired with lush florals. We’ll be using a ring, plaques, champagne bottle and champagne glass. Actually, make that Prosecco 🥂

I used Soft Pink, Electric Pink, Fuchsia and Blush for the pinks and Orange, Burnt Ember, Pumpkin, TerraCotta and touches of Egg Yellow and Ivory for the Orange/Peach hues.

Can’t wait to show you the finished set at the end of the week!

Here’s a quick pic of a set for the cutest little girl! This set had so many tiny little details and what seems like 1 million different colors and consistencies of icing.

I loved the final result and the birthday girl was super excited about her cookies!

07/06/2024

These icing bags are from one order of 5 dozen cookies! And they were a lot more bags too. When I work on Cookies, I re-bag the icing on occasion so I can stir everything up by spoon if the icing has been sitting in the bag for a bit. There are also several different consistencies of the same colors. When I’m creating lettered Cookies, I need one consistency to outline and another consistency to fill in the letters when the font has brush strokes. It’s all worth it in the end though. I can’t wait to show you the finished cookies!

I’m going to apologize in advance for the number of printed cookie videos I’ll be posting lol.

Here’s another using the Starbucks logo. I wanted to demonstrate with something that’s universally known so you can see the quality of the print and color on the cookie.

This gives you the best of both worlds, a delicious scratch, made butter/sugar cookie with an incredible quality print. If you’re planning a corporate event, please reach out. I would love to provide a quote for you!

The Taylor effect….

This past weekend I had the pleasure of creating these Taylor Swift cookies for a bridal shower. And no, it wasn’t a first! I’ve made Taylor cookies for bridal showers, birthdays and just because. It really is astounding the reach Taylor has!

This set included 10 different cookie shapes; her Era’s Tour corset, snake, lucky 13, guitar, heart shaped red sunnies, friendship bracelet (personalized for the happy couple ♥️), mirror ball, microphone, cardigan, and last but not least, the Lover album cover.

This set had so many different colors! Super Red, Super Black, Bright White, Electric Purple, Lilac, Royal Purple, Soft Pink, Espresso and Chocolate Brown. All by Americolor.
