Brayleigh Means Hope
Our miracle baby girl was born on October 12th, 2019 with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) and CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia).
Here, we will share her journey.
Every day, Baby Girl
What words would you put with this picture? Itβs heartwarming and Iβm trying to think of the right words for it. π
Did you know this?
It is a common misconception, however the eligibility of organ/tissue donation is determined by medical professionals at the time of death.
Share your donor stories with us, we'd love to hear them and celebrate the legacy of kindness.οΏ½οΏ½

The part of my life
where I had you
will forever be my
favorite
The impact you had
on my life will never fade
Your presence brought
light and happiness
into my world β¦
A feeling like no other
Iβm filled with a
sense of gratitude for
the moments we shared ,
the laughter created ,
and the love we felt
Your presence
continues to live on
Not just in my heart,
but in my everything
Your impression on
my life will always
be treasured , and
the love we shared
will continue to
inspire me every day
The memories
of our time together
will forever be my
favorite
And I carry your
love with me
always
Until we meet again β¦
I live each day
wondering how
I will
get through it,
then I remember that
youβd want me to β¦
I will honor your spirit
by embracing the challenges,
seeking comfort in the
world around me, while
holding onto the hope that
tomorrow will bring
a brighter day
I move forward knowing that
you are my guiding light
through the darkest of times,
giving me the courage to
face the day
With every breath
I feel your presence
urging me to keep going,
to never give up
And so I face each day with
renewed determination,
knowing that you are
by my side,
now and forever
Taking a deep breath
while holding your spirit
close to my heart,
and stepping forward
with confidence ,
knowing that I am
never truly alone
Until we meet again β¦
Did you know that age is not a barrier to organ, tissue, or eye donation?
In fact, there's no maximum age limit for registering as a donor. In fact, over 80 donors in the state of California in 2024 were over the age of 50. This means people of all ages can potentially save lives through donation. Whether you're in your 20s or your 80s, your decision to become a donor can make a significant impact.
It's important to note that the suitability of organs and tissues for transplant is determined by medical professionals at the time of donation, ensuring that each gift is used effectively. Let's spread awareness this National Donate Life Month about the inclusivity of organ donation and the opportunity for people of all ages to give the gift of life.
I've been working in and trying to clear out and make some sense in Bray's room the last few days. My family and close friends know I have been putting off this task for months and months now. It has been difficult, therapeutic, rewarding, breathtaking, tear and smile inducing, and dare I say exciting (?!) for what's to come, all wrapped up in one. Once I shifted my mindset from I don't have to or need to move on, "just" need to move with, I have gained a bit of new found strength to make forward progress. Taking my precious angel along for the ride. π»
I found this little bag while working in Bray's room the first day I dove in on the project. I haven't used it in well over a year, probably longer. I reached in the front pocket and found this sweet little photo our precious angel. I don't remember when/why I placed it in there. My Brayleigh Girl knew it was a bit of a tough day cleaning out her room and gave me a sweet angel wink. Thanks, Bray Bray. β€οΈ Also, my sweet velcro pup stayed extremely close to me all day long, which helped.

For National Donate Life Month (NDLM) 2024, Donate Life America was inspired by the night sky and the billions of stars that make up the universe. Stars remind us that even in the darkest night, there is light. Your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor gives hope and light to the 100,000 people on the national transplant waiting list who are waiting for a second chance at life.
Thatβs why donors are superstars. ππ
We invite you to explore, utilize and share these National Donate Life Month materials within your communities. Thank you for joining Donor Network West and Donate Life America in our efforts to save and heal more lives!
