This Mother’s Day, let’s make an impact by donating to a cause instead of giving flowers - Support in constructing urinals at Valaparla ZP High School.

Currently, the school faces a significant shortage of bathroom facilities, particularly for female students. With just 4 urinals available for 445 girls, students are experiencing discomfort and inconvenience during restroom breaks. This situation is further exacerbated by the fact that many students come from low-income families.

Strength in Nutrition: Empowering Adolescent Girls for a Healthier Tomorrow
Project Update:Many young women in our community from poor backgrounds face significant challenges in accessing adequate nutrition, leading to adverse health outcomes and hindering their overall well-being. Recognizing this need, our team conducted a thorough needs assessment to identify the nutritional deficiencies prevalent
among the young women in our community. We have identified 100 young girls under age 10-19 from the community of Martur
village of Martur Mandal. Nutrition kits were prepared, containing essential food items rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients crucial for the health and well-being of young women.
• To Provide young underprivileged girls with essential nutrients to address deficiencies and promote healthy growth and development.
• Combatting malnutrition among young underprivileged girls by supplying them with nutrient-dense foods and supplements tailored to their dietary needs.
• To ease the impact of socioeconomic disparities on health outcomes by bridging the gap in access to nutritious foods and health-promoting resources among underprivileged communities.
Ekam Los Angeles and Efforts conducted this program to promote well-being and empowerment among the vulnerable young girls. By providing essential nutrition and education on healthy practices not only improve health of women but also contribute to long-term health and prosperity of communities. This promotes the long-term health and wellbeing by instilling healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge in young girls during their formative years.

Project Update: Empowering Underprivileged Women in Martur, Prakasham District through Country Chicken Rearing
Our initiative aims to foster sustainable well-being among underprivileged women in Martur, Prakasham district by providing them with opportunities in country chicken rearing. With their active participation, each woman can not only secure a sustainable income but also gain empowerment to enhance their livelihoods.We're thrilled to report that 28 women have been equipped with chicken rearing units as part of this initiative, setting them on the path towards sustainable living.Together, let's continue to make a real difference by empowering these women to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

EKAM Los Angeles: Introducing an Innovative Project - Sustainable Well-being for Underprivileged Women

Launching of an innovative project called sustainable well-being women through promotion of country Chicks Unit. Through this initiative we are engaging underprivileged women residing in the Janardhan ST Colony, Martur, and Rajupaem areas of the Prakasham district, in country chicken rearing. By actively participating in this initiative, each woman will not only have a sustainable source of income but also gain empowerment to improve their livelihoods.

We have invested significant time and effort in designing an affordable cage that can house 11 chickens comfortably. Through in-depth research and careful planning, we have ensured that the setup is both practical and cost-effective. This approach will enable the women to start their country chicken rearing journey with minimal investment, making it accessible to all.

Together, we can make a real difference and empower these women to build a better future for themselves.

Inauguration of RO plant at Virupapuram village,made possible through a collaboration initiative funded by EKAMUSA and executed by PGNF, was graced by the presence of the village sarpanch, MPTC, and participating village elders and women members.

This is a plant located in Kurnool district with community maintenance. This village located in western part of Kurnool District which drought prone region of Andhra Pradesh,doesn’t have protected water schemes and main source of drinking water is bore wells located in the village. The water is not potable and had the impurities in the ground water and this water can not be used for drinking purpose. The water and found that the water consists of harmful materials like nitrate and fluoride and the village communities of project proposed villages suffering a lot for safe drinking water.Due to lack of drinking water facility the villagers including the school children and anganwadi centres are facing lot many issues They are frequently attacked viral and bacteria diseases.

Adolescence marks a crucial phase with distinct health and developmental requirements, emphasizing the acquisition of skills, emotional management, and vital attributes for a fulfilling adolescent experience.

In Andhra Pradesh, adolescent girls from tribal, scheduled tribes, poor, and backward class families face a dire situation. Lack of knowledge on menstrual hygiene compounds with financial constraints, rendering them vulnerable. Similar challenges are evident among girls in women-headed families, children of s*x workers, and those from HIV-affected households.

These marginalized communities, grappling with poverty and unemployment, prioritize survival over health due to the high cost of hygiene materials. This project aims to enhance hygiene and menstrual management practices among these girls, fostering their well-being and empowerment.

The excitement leading up to the project kickoff day was palpable. However, seeing young mothers and pregnant girls aged 13 to 16 stirred deep emotions and heightened concern.

There's a compelling need to do more for a meaningful grassroots impact.
