Sometimes I miss good old days …

Let’s take mics for example.💁🏻‍♂️

I don’t know why but those old, kinda vintage mics have something magical in them. Maybe it’s because of the unique sound, maybe the simplicity or maybe it’s just because they’re from the times all the greatest bluesmen were playing.🎖🎺

Nonetheless, I’m a big fan of those old goodies.
Unfortunately they’re becoming more and more rare to find, which is why I’m so glad that I’ve got a few myself.🤩

In my collection there is a Shure 520Dx - a new mic, but with a vintage white label shure element that helped in finding my sound (oh and I am also thinking of changing the shell so that it’s even more vintage style 🤫), as well as Astatic which serves as a backup buddy to the first one.😁

What can I do? I’m just a fan of everything that would make me closer to those guys who rocked and bluesed back in days.😎

I’ve decided to start a new series. Don’t worry, it’s not another sitcom styled show. 😁

I was sitting in my living room, listening to some tunes and suddenly I thought to myself:„Manfredi, you always have so much to say about each tune. Maybe instead of blabbing about it to Weronika, do something else?”

And I did .. I decided to blab about it here with you.😅

We start the series with something quite interesting - The Harpoonist & Axe Murderer. It’s nice to play in a duo, it’s even nicer when only two people can create an energy stronger than a whole band. 🤯

On the topic of harmonica, the one in this particular tune sounds amazing!

Oh and on the topic of THIS PARTICULAR video … just look at this perfection.😁

We are going on holidayssss!🚞

Remember when I told Katie about the first bluesmen and how the liked to imitate their surrounding? Yeah … now I am not sure
if I’ve done the right thing.😅

Katie decided to hop on a train and master her
harmonica train sound to the perfection.💁🏻‍♂️
And who am I to forbid her for doing so?

After all it’s nice to see that she starts taking harmonica seriously.🙏🏻

Don’t worry we will be back as soon as you won’t be able to differ whether it’s her playing the harmonica or a train approaching … so after doing the math approximately in September.😅

Maybe she will master my snoring too … or
I will master my patience towards Katie, we will see.😇😁

Sometimes when you start playing an instrument,
you get bored easily at the very beginning as you want to change something, play different sounds, but … you can’t play anything else but just those two sounds you’ve just learned.💁🏻‍♂️

What to do then?
Give up? Change an instrument?

Nah, the answer is simpler than you think.
CHANGE THE RHYTHM.

In such way you practice the same sounds,
but somehow you feel like learning a new thing.😎

Just came to remind you about
the concert we played a few months ago.

Remember when two gentlemen
visited my living room concert haul
to play a sound or two?🤔

Yeah … that was a good time,
both during and after the concert.😅

Together we played a few rocky sounds,
some of them were slower, some faster,
but the most important thing is that
you guys liked it.☺️

Because what’s the point of performing
if the audience does not like the music.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve heard that there are a few rules
a musician should consider.

👉🏻 to always have fun while playing

👉🏻 to never get too drunk before the concert

👉🏻 to never forget that the audience should always be treated as an unwritten band member

The third rule is especially important to me.

Even though you can’t be together with us in our living room concert hall, we always play as if you were, because at the end it’s you who we play for.

Okay … it got too sweet, I’m just gonna go.😅

Remember the tune I’ve composed? If not, I am going to remind you about it because I am still very proud of this one and I am not sorry about that.🤷‍♂️😅

It’s in a way my first musical baby,
the FIRST tune I’ve composed from the FIRST to the LAST sound.

It started with the Rocket Launcher but as it turned out that
I didn’t end my composing career with this one … oh no.😏
On the contrary, I begun to write down every Manfredi’s little tunes that came to me in the shower, during recordings, in the grocery shop, well … anywhere and at any time to be honest.😁

But for now, I am going to keep those ones as a secret
‘cause who knows ...
in the near future I will release them in the form of an album.🤔

Is anyone there? That’s me Manfredi,
coming to you with some GOOD NEWS.

I’ve been working quite a lot the last few months (or years but who would count 🤫) and finally got totally overloaded with projects, projects, projects and … projects and many waiting project ideas would not leave me alone for even a tiny second.

So finally I decided to screw everything and go somewhere
where even work does not dare to go … to BIESZCZADY.😁
I packed one fresh pair of underwear, at least five harmonicas, some good stuff (if you know what I mean 😏) and that’s how my three days of freedom started … oh boy were they fun.

One evening I was drinking a beer,
jammin’ with my friends and realised:
“Hey Manfredi, don’t you have an English Facebook
page to get started?”🤔

Well it turned out … I do and that’s when I decided to
get my ass in gear and do something to gather around
the international bearded community.

Be prepared for a ride, ‘cause guys what we have prepared for you is just a true ROLLERCOASTER.😁
