Sharif is a Pakistani politician who has served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan on three separate occasions. He was born on December 25, 1949, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League (N) political party.

Sharif began his political career in the 1980s as a protege of military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq. In 1990, he was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the first time. He served two non-consecutive terms as the Prime Minister from 1990 to 1993 and from 1997 to 1999.

In 1999, Sharif's government was overthrown in a military coup by General Pervez Musharraf, and Sharif was subsequently imprisoned. He was released from prison and exiled to Saudi Arabia in 2000, but he returned to Pakistan in 2007 to participate in the general elections.

In 2013, Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the third time. However, his third term was marred by corruption allegations, and he was disqualified from office in 2017 by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Sharif remains a controversial figure in Pakistani politics, with his supporters viewing him as a capable leader who has been unfairly targeted by his political opponents and the military establishment, while his critics accuse him of corruption and nepotism.
