I love the way Mr.Stalcup has ideas for time fillers after music program practice!! We are so grateful for him!!!
Mystery Instrument is one of my favorite activities with Kdg classes. Can you identify the instrument by sound? Each student selects their own mystery instrument hidden behind the mat. The remaining students try to guess what instrument made that sound.
Kindergarten students had a fantastic highlight during our jump rope activities! Most our the students could jump rope at least one cycle. A few could even jump 3-5 cycles continuously!
January has come and gone. Students worked hard practicing basic golf skills and form.
The weather outside might be getting colder, but our kindergarteners still love our game “ mosquito tag” ! Kindergarten has been on a roll with another Earn It! Choose it game! 
Wrapping up our December activities, our 4th and 5th grade students completed the first session of Fitnessgram testing and we have 4 new school records in the PACER test! Way to go!

Fifth gr classes have been hard at work the past few weeks. Reviewing rhythms, playing as an ensemble and DYNAMICS; bucket drums for the win.
We have 8 NEW school records in the marathon this year and 1 tied record! Just missing two students who were not able to be photographed today.
We had a Pokémon gathering for Halloween.
Thanks to Mrs. Smith in 1st grade, a student who was gone for our silly string event for running two marathons was able to have a make up day last week!
It’s “spooky season” in the music room. Spiders, ghosts; oh my!

Second grade classes moved to the folk dance from Eastern Mexico called “La Raspa.”
3,4 and 5th grade classes spent their music time dancing Los Machetes from Mexico for Hispanic Heritage Month

The Heusner Marathon Celebration is almost here! The celebration will take place at the Kansas Wesleyan University football field. Students will arrive by 2:15. We will begin shortly after. Once all the students have completed their last lap, a group photo will be taken in the stands. 2 & 3 marathon finishers festivities will take place back at Heusner on the blacktop.
