Jim Carrey shares that his father was also comedic and could have been a great comedian. But, he didn't believe that this was possible for him so he played it safe and took a regular "safe" job as an accountant. When Jim was 12, his father lost that job and the family had to do whatever they could to make ends meet. Jim shares that "This is proof that you can fail at what you don't want so you might as well attempt what you do love!"

There is a wealth of scientific study around the physiological and psychological effects of Survival Mode. When you are in survival mode, your body shuts down some areas of your system to save resources for the critical functions. It's like shutting off decks on a starship to save life support for the bridge. It is important that you flip the switch down deep inside you from Survival Mode to Success Mode. Many times, it's as simple as a mental understanding and decision. Other times, you must eliminate the stresses in your life that are keeping you in this survival mode before you can flip the switch. But you MUST FLIP THE SWITCH. This is where you will reach out and Thrive. You'll have all of your physical and mental resources to find new opportunities. Plus, you will be ready to say "Yes" to passing opportunities you would otherwise have had to pass because you weren't in a position to move. A Survivor has the constant companion of the pain and stress and pressure sitting on their shoulders. There is an element of despair that is pervasive. But a Winner in Success Mode can set that burden down and build upon each small success. I may have had had setbacks, challenges, even failures, but TODAY, I AM STARTING MY CLIMB out of this hole.

A man convinced against his will remains of the same opinion still. Did you choose to make this choice or move? or is it being pushed upon you? If you don't buy into this then you will not succeed, due to a disbelief.

Once you reach a certain point, allowing others' opinion of you to determine who you are or become is a really crap way of existence. Be YOU and use your strengths and values through your wiring to succeed in your business.

FAULT vs RESPONSIBILITY (Will Smith) It may or may not be your FAULT that your business wasn't where you wanted it to be on January 1, 2020. But it was your RESPONSIBILITY. It's not your FAULT that we're in a Pandemic (unless you're out of it and not wearing a mask) but it is your RESPONSIBILITY to work to get your business and family back on track when things come out.

Look at the last 5 texts in your phone - Did those texts (and people) build your life, or take a brick out of your wall. Did they help Fill Your Bucket - or Dip Out of Your Bucket?

Have a running list of Like-to-haves for when 90 days have strong sales

Stop Being the Bottleneck | Professional Photographers of America When photography businesses grow too large, they become overwhelming. That's when it's time to systemize--delegate duties and develop processes that will encourage efficiency.

So in looking at your Spring Season, were there any things, events, or people that you avoided? Was there a Fear of Failure associated with them? Were you avoiding doing something you didn't want to face?
Typically, we don't avoid actions due to the actions themselves. We avoid FEELINGS and those are normally tied (either justly or unjustly) to certain actions. Action X has put me in a situation to feel ...(guilty, hurt, anxious, behind, overwhelmed, etc.) so if I just don't do X then I won't feel like that - right?
This is why Procrastination tends to be a symptom - not the root problem. If there is an option to stop or turn to something else, you will find yourself procrastinating to avoid that feeling.
How do you overcome it? STOP! and write down "What will happen if I don't do this?" List all of the possibilities. Now write down "What will happen if I DO do this?" and list all of the possibilities. At this point, you can make a strong decision as to whether to do the action or not, and you are consciously in control of the decision.
If you chose to not do it, (or even if you did do it - look at your "Not do it" list) look at the list and think how can you put Systems and Processes in place to better control this situation?
Develop this habit for overcoming avoidance and procrastination in your business. When tackling your business one Action at a time, think of climbing the stairway to the clouds in China or climbing a mountain. You see the mountain, but you climb it one step (or grab) at a time. You tackle problems in business one Action at a time.
