John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

Many came to Jesus to accuse, ridicule and scorn Him, but the name of Jesus in the ear of the believer is the most beautiful of all names, for it is through our union with the Lord Jesus that we have been brought back into sweet communion with the living God, for there is no other name in heaven or on earth that has the power to seek and to save that which was lost.

Trusting in the name of Jesus is accepting Him as the incarnate Son of God, Who came to earth to be our substitute for sin. It is believing that Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection procured our salvation. It is trusting that His atoning sacrifice paid the price for our sin, and that by faith we are born again into the family of God. It is believing that the consequence of sin is death, but that Jesus paid the penalty of sin by dying on the Cross for us. It is believing that Jesus took the punishment that we deserve, and that through faith in Him our sin has been blotted out forever, we have been declared righteous by God and covered in Christ's own, perfect righteousness.

Believing on His name is the start of an amazing, everlasting journey that has given us the authority and privilege of being adopted into the family of God and being awarded the right to be called "children of God." It is by faith in the Person and work of the only begotten Son of God, that we are granted this stupendous privilege, for "as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."

There is no teacher like the great Teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ.

A man can give the truth, but only Christ can give the love of truth. A man may be able to teach what to believe, but only Jesus Christ can teach how to believe. A man may be able to open up the Scriptures as he expounds them, but only Christ can open up the heart to understand and adore them. Your Christian brothers and sisters may be able to inform your mind, but only Jesus can incline your will.

Dead people are not fit to learn anything, and so it is no wonder that the natural man who is dead in sin does not understand anything spiritually. It’s impossible. But praise God that the Lord Jesus Christ can make anyone whom He pleases to come to life, to be born again, and receive truths that only a soul with the life of God in it can receive.

Jesus not only teaches how to live, but also gives the life to live. Christ is the Teacher, and the teaching. He Himself is what is being taught. As He reveals Himself to you by the power of theHoly Spirit, He is teaching you. Spiritual knowledge is in the Lord Jesus Christ like milk is in the breast of a mother, and everyone born again cries for this pure spiritual milk (1 Peter 2:2). They all cry out for Him, and reach for Him to cleave to Him.

The world has some of the greatest earthly minds to teach them, but the least educated Christian has God Himself as their Teacher. The truth of God is spiritual in character, and requires His Spirit to understand it. Everyone born from above has the Spirit of God, and so even the slowest and most ignorant Christian mind grasps things that are too deep for the most brilliant unbelieving mind. No matter how bright an unbeliever’s mind shines, it is still in pitch blackness when it comes to spiritual matters.

What a wonderful and glorious privilege we have by the grace of God in the Lord Jesus Christ. We should strive to know Him, and make Him known. Amen.

I turned 33 years old today, praise the Lord! Jesus is the reason I have made it to 33. He literally holds me together and up by His power.

It wasn’t until a few months before my 28th birthday that the LORD our God called me out of the world, and granted me the gift of repentance and saving faith. I was not seeking Him. Instead, I was hating and rebelling against Him. For a couple of years before I was saved, I had New Age beliefs that were the result of my rebellion against the natural revelation of God. I did a lot of strange things. Just to name a few: I would do chants to myself in my mind at night when I was in my bed. I did them because I thought that I could completely manifest the reality I wanted if I thought of things long enough.

I collected crystals with hope to ‘manipulate the energy field around me’. I burnt sage to ‘cleanse the energy field and to get rid of evil spirits’. I once went 20 months without eating a single cooked meal. I ate a completely raw food diet, and refused to take any supplements because they didn’t come from raw foods. I believed that cooked foods ‘lowered my vibration’, which in turn, I thought, put me into a lower spiritual position. My body became extremely weak and sickly looking because of this.

It wasn’t until years after I was saved that I realized, in a way, that I was doing all of those things in order to earn my place with God. I wanted to be in a higher position spiritually, and so I labored for it to the point of sickness. I denied myself many things that are lawful, because I thought I would be more spiritual.

Before I was saved, I used to be obsessed with writing songs, and when I wrote them, it would be as if some power above my own would feed me lyrics that amazed me. I would draw occult symbols on the paper I wrote the lyrics on, as though I was under the influence of some other spirit. I considered myself extremely sensitive to the spiritual realm. I would be talking to people, and suddenly in the eye of my mind I would see some sort of wicked entity raging at me.

When the LORD called me out of the world, I had a very rough time. I became very sickly looking from all the stress, and felt that I was constantly being spiritually attacked. I would have very dark thoughts and think very strange things. It seemed as though I was being heavily attacked because I had been freed from the bo***ge it Satan, and was drawing near to Christ.

The LORD delivered me from the bo***ge I was in. He delivered me from my own rebellion. He gave me rest after I was shown that all of my laboring to be in a better position spiritually was in vain. It is only by the gift of faith in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit that a person is reconciled and in a favorable position with God. The Lord revealed Himself in a saving manner to me, and I have never been the same since. I would not be celebrating my 33rd birthday to the glory of God today if it were not for our compassionate and tender Father that set His saving love on me in eternity past. He is worthy of praise forever and ever!

I want to thank everyone who messaged me happy birthday. Thank you all so very much for the happy birthday messages. I have so many in my inbox right now. I am not going to be able to reply to all of them anytime soon because there are so many, but I want everyone to know that I am very thankful. I hope you all enjoy this day the LORD has made!

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious(A) Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.(B) 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges(C) with evil thoughts?
