It’s a bittersweet day as I close one chapter of my life and open another. After 12 wonderful, fulfilling years at KXAN, my last day on-air in Austin is Wednesday.

I can’t say where I’m headed quite yet, but I’ll tell you as soon as I’m able. Know that it had to be an incredible opportunity to get me to leave my hometown, and that’s exactly what it is. While I’ll miss Lake Austin, the Greenbelt and lots of other things about this city, I am really excited for a new challenge and continued growth.

I want to thank everyone at KXAN for taking a chance on a guy with zero experience straight out of graduate school. My intern tapes were rough! 😂 While I still have much to learn, I have grown so much during my time at the station and have been privileged to earn your trust during dangerous weather and to cover important climate change and water issues in our community.

The success of a TV meteorologist is entirely in the hands of viewers like you — so as I always say, thank you for watching.
