2023 was a great year and we are so proud of what we accomplished. Thank you to everyone who helped us! We are so excited for 2024. We are starting our Hope for the Future project by partnering with a classroom. We hope you will help us provide the tools necessary to help these students succeed.

What an amazing day we had at our “Hope For the Holidays” event. Nothing brings us more joy then seeing children smiling and we had lots of smiles this year! It’s our favorite time of year! As the holidays get closer we are preparing for our two big annual projects, Bags of Hope and Hope During the Holidays. We have had so many people make generous donations and we can’t wait to make a difference this year!

Spreading holiday cheer is one of our favorite things to do and our annual holiday party did just that! Seeing the joy on children’s faces as they played games and took a swing at the piñata is what it’s all about for us. Every child walked away with a new backpack. And anyone one who participated in the games was a winner! And anyone one who participated in the games was a winner! But the kids weren’t the only ones getting in on the fun. Parents were able to win baskets of food, inflatable pools, and sandals. There was free ice cream and food for all. We can’t thank our volunteers or generous donors enough for making this possible. Every year this event gets bigger and we can’t wait for next year!

¡Difundir la alegría navideña es una de nuestras cosas favoritas para hacer y nuestra fiesta anual de vacaciones hizo exactamente eso! During this time of year we gather around the table with our loved ones with a bounty of food and share what we are thankful for. We know that all over the world so many are without food and have fallen on difficult times. Dando Esperanza has decided to focus on our “bags of hope” during this start of the holiday season. Our volunteers in Guatemala gathered to create 150 bags full or food and essentials. Dando Esperanza is so incredibly thankful for all of our blessings this year! What might seem small to you may make a world of difference to someone else. We put on shoes everyday without a second thought. In so many places around the world just like Guatemala shoes aren’t a common luxury that everyone has. Dando Esperanza decided to provide new pairs of shoes to children. These small gifts will make an everyday difference for these children and we will continue to provide more shoes every year.

Lo que puede parecer pequeño para usted puede marcar una gran diferencia para otra persona. Nos ponemos los zapatos todos los días sin pensarlo dos veces. Estoy en tantos lugares alrededor del mundo como en Guatemala, los zapatos no son un lujo común que todos tienen. Dando Esperanza decidió proporcionar nuevos pares de zapatos a los niños. Who doesn’t love ice cream!? We decided to team up with Don Pedrito for a day to share his love of ice cream with a small village. We hired him to make 300 ice cream cones and pass them out to all the kids and anyone else who loves ice cream. He is so gracious and caring and puts love into his ice cream. It was hard to tell who was happier, the kids eating the ice cream or Don Pedrito seeing all of their smiles while using his new cart. As always our amazing volunteers were there to assist Don Pedrito and capture these amazing moments. We think this is the start of a beautiful friendship!

¿¡Quién no ama el helado!? Decidimos unirnos a Don Pedrito por un día para compartir su amor por los helados con un pequeño colonia. Lo contratamos para que hiciera 300 conos de helado y se los entregara a todos los niños y a cualquier otra persona que ama el helado. Es muy amable y cariñoso y pone amor en su helado. Era difícil saber quién estaba más feliz, los niños comiendo el helado o Don Pedrito viendo todas sus sonrisas mientras usaba su nuevo carrito. Como siempre, nuestros increíbles voluntarios estuvieron allí para ayudar a Don Pedrito y capturar estos increíbles momentos. ¡Creemos que este es el comienzo de una hermosa amistad!

Our favorite ice cream vendor Don Pedrito is back! He is extremely hard working and a humble man. We have been inspired by him and his dedication to his job. Our little helper surprised Don Pedrito with some new clothes and shoes today. We are so happy to provide these small gestures of love but we are also excited to teach the future generation about the importance of giving back and helping your elders. This project is incredibly important to us and we are grateful for all our volunteers who put together these bags and distribute them.

Every year we start as early as possible to ensure all of our gift arrive on time for our annual project, Hope During The Holidays.

Meet Don Pedrito!
He’s been selling ice cream and spreading joy in his community for many years. Members of the community began posting online asking for help for their beloved Don Pedrito and we couldn’t think of anything we would love to do more then to help this amazing man.
Our incredible team in Guatemala met with him and asked what he needed and found that his ice cream cart was in bad shape. So we decided to make Don Pedrito a new cart to his specifications.
This might seem small but for Don Pedrito it is everything! But don’t worry we’ve got a few more surprises in store for him. Keep following for updates on Don Pedrito.
