😄💪 The objective of the AWARENESS AND BEHAVIORAL CHANGE CAMPAIGN (conducted by Airports of Puglia🛫 in collaboration with SOLAR project partners) is to raise the profile of low carbon practices in the airport community and promote knowledge and awareness of the certification process in the short to medium term, according to three main phases or levels:

✍️Level 1 (mapping) Writing and verifying carbon footprint against emissions

🤏Level 2 (reduction) Continuous reduction of carbon emissions from sources under the direct control of the airport compared to the average of the last 3 years

👍Level 3 (optimization) Drafting of a stakeholder engagement plan aimed at reducing emissions

😁 Puglia Airports: reduce carbon through Solar!

😉 The actions planned by the Solar project in the airports of Puglia are perfectly in line with the expected targets...

🤓 The comparison is made between the base year 2019 and the target year 2030 and takes into account the traffic growth forecast (EUROCONTROL data), the number of passengers and the emission reduction path selected for the analysis: -1, 5% per year in line with a scenario that would keep global temperatures below a 2°C rise in 2050.

29/03/2023

🛫 Solar, three keywords: knowledge, transparency, cooperation!

👉 The SOLAR project aims to strengthen and coordinate the already existing effort of the various airport structures involved, in the logic of reducing emissions, through the dissemination of knowledge of the tools available and possible actions to reduce the environmental impact of the daily operations carried out by employees, suppliers and carriers.

👥 This will be done by stimulating an open and multifocal dialogue between the partners of the initiative and within each airport in order to integrate the carbon reduction objectives and to provide employees and operators with clear guidelines to follow during daily operations.

🌐 Together, for an increasingly connected and cleaner world

22/03/2023

🌍 The SOLAR project involves different partners, united by the desire to achieve the great goal of reducing carbon emissions at airports and to enhance an area, the Adriatic, with enormous and as yet unexpressed potential.

💪 It is the South of Europe looking to the future, - Apulia Region, Aeroporti della Puglia S.p.A, Aeroporti del Montenegro JSC, Albanian Civil Aviation Authority, Molise Regional Development Agency - which aims not only to improve energy efficiency but to promote a route that represents an opportunity for cultural, social and economic growth for all the populations involved.

🌐 Together, for an increasingly connected and clean world

15/03/2023

💣There is not much time to lose: to avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change, we must act with absolute determination. Since 1990, annual global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have increased by 50 per cent.

🤓According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC - https://www.ipcc.ch/sr15), the world has only 8 years to reduce carbon by 45% and only 28 years before net zero emissions are achieved.

🛫The Solar project was born precisely with the aim of being able to measure the carbon footprint of airports in Apulia, Albania and Montenegro and activate policies to reduce it significantly!

🌐 Together for an increasingly connected and clean world

13/03/2023

👉 Sharing, among the different project partners, best practices and ways of analyzing results represent a substantial method of the project and a challenge for the territories involved, which will benefit from the collaborative method activated.

💡 In this direction, the communication strategy assumes a central function.

🔗In fact, the communication strategy of the SOLAR project moves on two fronts: on the one hand, to better support dialogue and exchange among project partners, facilitating sharing processes (internal communication), and on the other hand, to provide elements of relevance to project results and outputs

08/03/2023

👉 The main objective of the project is to be able to measure the carbon footprint of airports in Apulia, Albania and Montenegro and activate policies to reduce it significantly.

🛫The SOLAR project aims to strengthen and coordinate the already existing effort of the different airport facilities, in the logic of reducing emissions, by spreading the knowledge of the available tools and possible actions to reduce the environmental impact of the daily operations carried out by employees, suppliers and finally carriers.
