South West Coastal Path running challenge
Traveling 250km in 9 days
Supporting
The Pilgrims Ho
So after a few days of rest and recovery where we have spent most of the time telling our family and friends all about our days spent running we have had time to reflect and look back at the hundreds of photos we took along the way. We can't wait to share some of our favourites on here along with thanking some very important people too!!
With some cash still to be added, that people kindly donated along the way we will have reached over £4000 and with donations still coming in daily we can't tell you how grateful we are for all your support throughout our challenge so thankyou!!
There's still time to donate on our Just Giving page. The link is in our bio ⬆️
Ps. How cute are Dockhead Red Watch 🚒
Day 9 The Final Day - Hemmick Beach ➡️ Mevagissey Harbour 12km
We done it - We ran for 9 solid days and we covered 250km. Can't quite believe it ourselves but we are so thankful for all your support and kind words.
We were absolutely blown away with every single donation given and can't believe we hit the 3k mark - believe me when I say running in fire gear was wayyy harder than I expected.
We have so many thank yous to make so please keep your eyes pealed in the next few days.
Ps. Planning for the next challenge had already started 👀
And they have made it !!!
The run into Mevagissy Harbour in 20 degree heat.
An amazing achievement
And here they come…..
As promised yesterday, Lauren is running the final stage in her Firefighters Uniform !
Thank you for all the donations so far, would be fantastic if we could stretch it to 3,500 or maybe even 4K ??
Thanks and Love to everyone
It’s the last day and what an experience!

The start of the final stage of the final day.
Smiles and tears this morning as the run starts from the place that my brother and I spent so many childhood summer holidays and runs past the holiday home that became such a huge part of our lives when we had children.
No religious connotations meant or applied but the fact that the sun is shining down in Portmellon makes us believe that our Dad would be so very proud of this run and what has been achieved.
We love and miss you every single day of our lives and this run was done in your name and in your memory.
Love you Dad
Last day....thank you for all your support and kind words. We are blown away 🔴🔵

Day 8 - Maenporth ➡️ Hemmick 38km
Our longest run and it was a tough one! We actually ended up running more than what we planned but we got there in the end and finished where we needed to finish even after both getting stung by wasps.
We can't believe we are so close to end now with one day left to go!
Thankyou as always for your messages of encourage and your support. It means so much to us!
Not even the Cornish Rain can damper the spirits for the 2 runners today.
One more MASSIVE hill and a couple of coves and they are done for today.
Day 8 (almost) completed which has been the equivalent of a marathon.
Stage 2/3 completed.
Still chalking up the miles, still raising money for 2 great charities.
Thank you for your support and donations.
1 more stage still to go today…
🏃🏻🇬🇧🏃♀️

One last big push left - today we are running just short of a marathon to set us up for Day 9 and the last day tomorrow.
Everybody has been so generous so far and we appreciate every single one of you. In order to raise as much money as possible for these two unbelievable charities we are setting a small challenge of reaching £3000.
If we manage to hit £3000 before tomorrow morning I will run the last day which is 12km in my fire gear. .
Keep sharing and spreading the word guys let's try make this happen.

Day 7 - Coverack ➡️ Maenporth 26km
A really wet day but knowing the rest of our family was driving down to Cornwall spurred us on even more to get it done.
We are both exhausted physically and mentally and have a massive day ahead now to get us set up for our last day on Tuesday.
Thank you as always for your kind words and support, the locals have also been amazing throughout and we are so grateful for that.
We are so close now! 🔴🔵
The final few steps of another epic stage today.
SO many cliffs, coves and hills to conquer but they did it !!
Thanks to everyone for their donations and messages.
Thank you to Life's A Beach Cafe for the drinks and sympathy at the end of of stage 7 today.
We look forward to seeing you in the morning ready for the start of stage 8
MASSIVE thanks to everyone at Chy Carne Holiday Park

Especially owner Sue who was totally amazing yesterday - she took one look at our drained faces and not only moved things around so that we could stay in one of her static caravans but she also arranged food and drink for us and even invited us to the staff party that night.
Totally unbelievable support to us, made even better by guests at the party then adding their sponsorships.
The people we are meeting along the route have been lovely but this was a great way to finish what was a really tough day.
Thank to everyone for your messages, texts, phone calls, they all mean a lot to us.
🏃🏻🇬🇧🏃♀️
The start of day 7.
We set out from Coverack and aim to finish at Maenporth Beach later this afternoon.
Thank you to everyone for your messages of support and for the donations.
We are reading all the messages and they all mean a lot to us.
Day 6 - Gunwalloe ➡️ Coverack 30km
Such a beautiful and sunny route along the most Southern point in the UK but yet again we were faced with lots of climbing up and down clifftops and in and out of coves.
Blisters are out in full force now and with 3 big days left we are trying all we can to look after and recover each evening but it is getting tough.
Another big day today 🔵🔴 your support has been incredible - thank you!
Unbelievable support - thankyou 🙌🏼
Penzance Community Fire Station
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service
London Fire Brigade
An unbelievable surprise set up by one of Dad's friends Clive who lives in Penzance.
Having the Penzance crew meet us on route inspired us for the day ahead and we couldn't have been more grateful for the time and effort they took out of their day to come and speak to us.
To hear and share stories and get a personal thanks for raising money for was very special - thank you guys 🔴
Today is a day where we were reminded exactly why we are taking on this challenge. Although our challenge is split between two charities the is still a massive part of our reason why and today we took two minutes out of our run to reflect and remember those brave Firefighters in New York on this tragic day 20 years ago. We will remember and we will never forget. Today we ran for all Firefighters across the world! 🔴
Running in for a pit stop at 17km 🔵🔴
OVER HALFWAY
Day 5 - Mousehole ➡️ Gunwalloe 30km
A much flatter but longer run, the pain is starting to really kick in now and the days are all merging into one.
We have reached over 25% of our fundraising target with nearly £1000 in cash to add to it too. Please keep sharing and donating for these two amazing charities 🔴🔵

Day 4 - Port Nanven ➡️ Mousehole 29km
Another ridiculously long and hard day, the route was a lot of climbing and a lot of up and down coves. We are both really tired, blisters are showing and even black toe nails. Dad's blaming the shrunk socks 👀
We had two little helpers to start our run off and give us the boost we needed. They were brilliant and set us up for the day perfectly, thank you .performance
Please keep sharing and supporting us, the last two days have been unbelievably hard and we are set for another cold, wet and hard day today. We are doing this for our two amazing charities 🔵🔴
