Not been doing much knife wise lately very quiet in fact. Have made a 45 gallon drum seat which was fun.

Back in the Workshop at last, Camo Stickleback with Kydex Sheath..with any luck making my own micarta handle which never goes well

So re-thunk the sheath look, toned down the orange to something a bit less in your face. Also re-thunk the fire steel holder, it was quite flimsy on the first sheath and was seriously close to failing so beefed it up and stepped it away from the sheath by a couple of ml which has taken the stress off caused by the handle pushing against the sheath. So if there is anyone looking at my page now who wants a nice camp knife/skinner/fishing knife these two are a bargain......😎

Introducing The Tetra Neon, Hunting/Fishing/Skinner and camp knife. Sheath is in production, if your wondering it dosn't double as a spirit level they be glow sticks which I am quite happy with as they glow for days. It takes 2 sticks one in each side was going to be just the one but you couldn't see it at night until you was almost on top of it. The half moon in the blade is a ferro rod striker (supplied on the sheath)

Just an update, I have been woking on these new line of knives called "Venom" 2 almost finished a tactical hybrid version mixing a posh handle and black blade and finger guard and a leather sheath as I am not a fan of Kydex. The finger guard is made of aircraft grade aluminium and has proved an absolute nightmare to blacken, you need a degree in chemistry to get it to turn black and to be honest the finish is not great so spent a lot of time sorting that out, finally got it looking the part. And a posh version with copper liners and very expensive handle material, copper. finger guard and a tad of file work on the tang, Both sheaths are finished, a couple more coats of finish on the handle and I will put up some pictures.

On its way, a Posh Venom Knife with Silver Berry handle...all I can say is this stuff is going to pop when I apply the finish, Never seen such a figured burl as this wewd. Going for copper on this one, finger guard and all the fittings. The other Venom Knife will be finished soon as well, just waiting on some Veg Tan leather to arrive so I can crack on with the sheaths for both. Decided the finger guard on the Venom Tactical is going to be black, Got some chemicals that will do the job, been experimenting on bits of scrap ally to get a good finish and I believe I have got the application method sussed. I am concidering subbing the sheaths out now to a leather worker mate of mine as the sheath designs are getting more and more intricate and my fingers are just not as flexible as they once where. Getting old💀

Almost done this one, before a gigantic spider decided to launch a pre-emptive strike this afternoon in my workshop, Been wondering lately where the dragons and Orcs had fu**ed off to, now I know. Anyway Tactical style knife, blackened carbon steel blade 4.5 inches in length . Juma Marshland scales with carbon fibre pins, and slightly risky but I think they work orange G10 liners. The finger guard is a dilemma its made from aircraft grade aluminium and my plan was to blacken it, the chemical I need to blacken it has not arrived so it remains silver and the longer it remains silver the more I like it. Still some fettling to do here and there and make a sheath. I think I will blacken it as soon as the stuff arrives. It will be going up for sale on here probably around the £145 mark.

I'm not saying its hot but working in my workshop just now and two hobbits threw a ring through the door.

Some assembly required. Hopefully this will turn out ok, Not sure yet how I am going to power it. Drill possibly or use my belt grinder on its lowest speed. Or maybe just turn it by hand. So first correct guess on what it is going to be gets f%*&k all😎

Waiting on materials AGAIN!! So bit of pottering, Found a bag of these buffalo horn spacers which I forgot I had. Nice size and cool patterns, looks very similar to onyx. Made a couple yesterday, one has already gone, My logo on one side and whatever you want engraved onto the other side. This one is for someone who looks a bit like.....well a lot like Smthy from Gavin And Stacey, hence the quote on the back. Can be keyring as is here, or fridge magnets. After much deliberation and finking I have decided not to call the new knife design Pike Mk2 in favour of the much more dramatical RAPTOR!! First one off the workshop will be a Tactical style ie Stonewashed blade, marshland camo style handle maybe a black or blued finger guard not sure yet but it should be pretty jubbly. Sneaky peak of the block for the handle, will look a lot better than that by the time its been through the workshop and the Logo for the knife....

Pike Mk2 on the CAD, Bigger better and.....er...shinier? Than the Mk1.

Almost done. Stickleback Black Mangrove, just some stubborn epoxy to get off the blade, give it a scary sharp edge and etch my mark on the blade, To be honest the scales on this did not come out as expected, made by the same company and price as the scales on the green mamba. Sadly as I began to work with them it was not long before I realised the scale effect on these is quite subtle and not as prominent as the green, which is a shame, however if the sun hits the handle in the right direction then they do pop. you can see in the pictures that the edges seem to be more pigmented than the rest of the scales. Anyway teamed with a black leather and snake skin sheath with yellow stitching it don't look too bad at all.

4 hours of work in the bin today. Cut out a stickleback blank, cleaned it up on the belt grinder, refined the shape, 10 inch wheel on the grinder for the hollow grind, always a dodgy procedure but it went ok also gave it a run over with a 400gr silicone carbide belt which will make mirror polishing a doddle, holes drilled and into the forge, out the forge nice and orange into the oil and.........."TINK" the unmistakable sound of the metal cooling at different rates and cracking in the usual position of where the blade meets the tang. Straight into tantrum mode, lots of swearing, throwing things around, a bit more swearing, did I throw that hammer? cant remember so throw it anyway. F**k off to the pub.

Well next few knives are slowly coming together, one should be completed by next weekend...hopefully, The mangrove stickleback, two damascus bladed knives with desert iron wewd handles are almost done too. Bit of a delay on the two slingshots still scrounging aluminium up for the cores.

Ok until 5pm tomorrow this knife will drop in price to £70inc P&P from originally £95!
