State lawmaker says Texas school board members get 'indoctrination' into groupthink culture Guts. That's what Republican State Senator Lois Kolkhorst showed this year when she took on the state's powerful education lobby with harsh but...
4. Conflicts of Interest - Coley Canter and her husband PROFIT as employee owners of a multimillion dollar company (TD Industries) that her grandfather started and that is a preferred vender to GCISD.
3. Tommy Snyder's opponent's supporters are accusing him of "stolen valor" despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
From Tommy Snyder -
Now that we are past the general election I want to take the opportunity to address the outrageous “stolen valor” claim made against me by my liberal opponent and her surrogates. I chose not to indulge in any of their gutter politics during that campaign but not going to allow these ridiculous and offensive claims to go unanswered any longer for my family’s sake.
“Stolen Valor” is a term applied to the phenomenon of people falsely claiming military awards or badges they did not earn, service they did not perform, Prisoner of War experiences that never happened, and other tales of military derring-do that exist only in their minds. I have been accused of stolen valor by the lowest form of humans that live in our community and the one that led the charge is himself a U.S. Army Soldier which is even worse.
I was nominated for an appointment to West Point by the Chief of Staff of the Army at the direction of a Lieutenant Colonel, who worked in the Chief of Staff's office when I worked for the Commander of the United States Army at the Pentagon. The only reason I didn't accept the appointment is because I was also offered a position in the White House with the White House Communications Agency. The advice I was given was to take the position at the White House because it was the last term and the final year of Reagan's office as President.
The Chief of Staff told me that West Point would be available after I completed my duty at the White House. Following that station I chose not to re-enlist to pursue my music career, and I was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1990. I never attended West Point, and never claimed to have.
The false claims of stolen valor stayed that the Chief of Staff cannot nominate or give any appointments to the U.S. Military Academy and that I had fabricated this story. These malefactors took the lie even further saying that even the President cannot nominate anyone for such an appointment. All lies simply to attempt to destroy my character for the purposes of electing my liberal opponent.
Those who made this claim should really have done their homework before trying to defame my character with lies that were not only put on social media, but mailed through the US Postal Service on an illegal campaign hit piece designed to mislead the public about my proud military service in the US Army.
I hope that you will remember what they did and why when you go to the polls to elect me for GCISD Board of Trustees Place 5 on December 8th.
I didn't serve in the U.S. Army so that my children could be taught that socialism and Marxism are good. As President Trump has said, the anti-Americanism needs to be eradicated from our public school curriculum. And finally to the soldier who made these claims against me, you have no honor.
