My Life With My Punjabi Husband In America

My Life With My Punjabi Husband In America

We are proud to be Sikh! I'm an American born Mediterranean woman. He's a Punjabi born, Sikh.

He's absolutely correct! It is a form of practicing good mental health!

I've always believed your spouse should be your biggest supporter, aside from yourself! You may do positive things, set goals & achieve them, for yourself, but at the end of the day; any positive effort you make should be recognized by your spouse!

I promised myself a long time ago, I'll never end up with another spouse that isn't sincerely proud of anything positive that took me effort to accomplish! Constant disappointment will destroy any relationship! It's wholeheartedly disappointing to make your best effort, and succeed at something positive; then have it downplayed or not even acknowledge by your own spouse!

You give them emotional and moral support, 24/7! You encourage them, you give them positive reinforcement, you listen to them, to pay then individual & undivided attention and active listen to them! You're there when they fail, and when they succeed. You take an active role in anything they're passionate about that's productive!

The only thing your asking for in return, is EXACTLY what you've consistently given them countless times! Effort, positive energy, kind words, encouragement, compliments, praise! You enjoy getting it, but never take it for granted, and fail to give that same energy in return!

Eventually, any human being that truly loves you will get tired of giving you moral support, and never receiving ot in return! It's wholeheartedly disappointing to give positive energy, and rarely to never getting it in return!

If you're spouse has personal issues complimenting you, giving you praise, encouragement, moral support, kind words, positive reinforcement, and telling you that you did a great job; leave them & find someone who sincerely appreciates you!

It's not solely about you valuing yourself, believing in yourself, and being proud of yourself! If you take pride in your accomplishments, and have self respect; then you won't allow folks on your life that don't know your value and take you for granted!

Not everyone is like your ex!

I have an issue with people that can't admit when I'm 110% correct about something, then say practically the same exact thing I said: making it seem like they're right!

It's not always about me being right, and or proving that someone's wrong! It's about giving me, my props, giving credit where credit is due, and admitting something I said; not only make complete sense, but is a fact!

Gotta be self aware as an adult! Your maturity level speaks on volumes on how you see yourself, and others! No one's absolutely correct alllll the time, just like no one's perfect!

It's not about admitting you were wrong, when I was never trying to prove you wrong! It's allll about being mature enough, and admitting when someone, other than you, was totally right about something!

You won't give them their props by admitting they were right, but then you proceed to make a statement almost identical to theirs; except using only one different word that has the exact same meaning!? SMH.

Self evaluation, self awareness! Don't act as though I'm wrong, by refusing to acknowledge that I'm definitely correct; then turn around and say the same exact thing, and make that same statement; now, seem profound, just because YOU said it!

See, I was in an 11 year relationship, 10 year marriage with a total narcissist! In their eyes they never ever made an mistakes! Nothing they've ever done or said was incorrect! Every decision they ever made was a good one, and the only time they acknowledged they made a mistake, made a bad decision, or did something incorrectly; they ALWAYS had to place blame on someone else!

There are soooo many times in life that adults have total control over their actions, reactions, and decisions! You absolutely MUST take full responsibility for something YOU CHOOSE to do that no one forced you to do; especially when you kept making the CHOICE to repeatedly do it!

I just have an issue with someone glossing over something I said, that we apparently both agree is 100% true, because 5 minutes after I said it; then they make the exact same statement! What's so utterly difficult, or wrong about telling me, you agree with me, instead of saying "yeah whatever; then minutes later saying the exact same thing!

Obviously, my statement wasn't untrue in your eyes, so you gotta be a narcissist to refuse to acknowledge that I'm right; then make it seem like you're saying something so new, when we both know I just got done saying the exact same thing!

I have no issues admitting when I'm wrong, made a mistake, did or said something that was incorrect! I'm a human being, and in my eyes; no one's truly perfect except Waheguru!

You have an inner personal issue if you actually know my opinion on something is 100% correct, but can't bare to admit you agree! It's far from cute, because ultimately it's immature! If I'm right, I'm right! In this particular instance; it had nothing to do with someone being wrong! It was a truthful statement, and saying "whatever", then saying the same thing 5 minutes later?! Be self aware!

I'll never understand the frame of mind of an adult that thinks they're utterly perfect, and never make mistakes! Especially, having the same outlook on something, that someone else has, but can't admit they agree! How is that being a mature adult!?

Once in awhile, folks that love & respect you actually enjoy hearing you; tell them, you agree with them! When they agree with you, they don't hesitate to admit it; so what's so wrong with giving that respect in return!?

I can't understand, and I definitely cannot relate. If someone says something I happen to agree with, I don't have ego issues; where I refuse to admit I agree with them! It's definitely about ego when you gloss over someone's statement by saying "whatever", but say the EXACT same thing they just said!

Ego can be irritating, annoying, and extremely unattractive! In our religion we believe ego is the root of the evil in the world! A true narcissist will NEVER EVER admit they have a self inflated ego, and will never admit they used to do something over & over that they now, regret!

I've fully admitted; as a way off showing I take responsibility for past actions, that I repeatedly did, but completely STOPPED doing! Its a sign of being a self aware, mature adult to say; I regret doing that, because it caused issues that I'm now having to deal with, but I've learned not to keep doing it!

Self awareness is attractive, is essential, and it's a major aspect of being a mature, level headed adult!

Like I said; it's not always about right versus wrong, or proving someone wrong! I make a statement that's 110% true, whether you choose to gloss over it or not; then proceed to say the same exact thing will not make my statement less valid! I'm not trying to prove you wrong by making a completely accurate statement! That's YOUR ego that refuses to give me, my props!

I'll pray for you! Waheguru

Amen 🙏

Bob Marley once said -

"You may not be her first,
her last
or her only,
she loved before and can love again, but if she loves you now,
what else matters?

She is not perfect, neither are you, and you two will never be perfect. But if she can make you laugh at least once, it makes you think twice, if she admits to being human and making mistakes, do not let her go and give her the best of you.

She is not going to recite poetry,
she is not thinking about you at all times,
but she will give you a part of her that she knows you could break, her heart ...
Do not hurt her,
do not change her,
and
do not expect more than she can give you.
Do not analyze.
Smile when it makes you happy,
scream when it makes you angry
and
remove it
when it
is
not.

Love with your whole being when you receive love.
Because there are no perfect girls, but there will always be a girl who is perfect for you ... "

More positive feedback from another one of my doctors!

My recently blood work came out excellent, and my primary care doctor I'd very happy with the results! I just need to increase my vitamin D. I can take supplements, go out on the sun more often, eat fish, eggs and mushrooms; to increase my vitamin D levels.

Don't need to lose weight to improve my health, don't need to stop doing anything I normally do, don't need to start doing anything new! I don't have hypertension. I don't have any issues with my liver, bladder, colon, immune system, or my lungs! I'm blessed!

I may end up getting surgery for an issue with my ovaries, and next month I'll know for sure! My mammogram came out great, 2 different sets of blood work came out great, no high blood pressure, NOT overweight!

My test results are encouraging, make me feel optimistic, and feeling accomplished, because I've obviously been eating healthy. I trust in what my DOCTORS advise me to do! I'm not in perfect health, but my health is definitely not poor, and it's actually going to improve!

1st off, I'm extremely, seriously drained & totally out of it! This blood pressure medication is not for me, and I'm grateful it's only temporary for my surgery on Wednesday!

I barely have enough energy to shower! I'd like for do something physically productive before this day ends! I'm going to paint my toenails, because yesterday I gave myself a quick pedicure!

No way on God's glad earth I'll allow my toenails to look a hot mess, and especially for surgery. Even my Mother agrees I should have them groomed before surgery.

Plenty of leftover sushi, and fir breakfast this am, I made pasta & sauce. It was delicious, and it'll be our dinner tonight.

Anyhow, I'm definitely looking forward to some relaxation time with my Sardar this evening! I just wanna lay in his arms, and listen to him read Sikh scriptures, and enjoy our quality time together!

I've honestly never felt this drained, and the lack of energy has undoubtedly impacted my daily motivation, and inspiration to be positively productive! I must push forward, though.

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening, and weekend!

I haven't donated to charity in a long time, and I feel the need to start doing it, soon!

My Mother, much like my Grandmother was when she was alive; is a Pilar of her church. My Mother is heavily active in her church. She has given to charity all my life!

I remember, years and years ago, she received an award for her charity work, and our family was sooo proud of her! There was a huge banquet dinner, and she received an plaque.

I used to cook a mountain of food, place individual meals in to go containers, and hand them out during Christmas time to the homeless, in Las Vegas. It felt so good, but I always felt sad when I ran out of food to give.

Charity is something that can be done all year long, not just on holiday; around Thanksgiving or Christmas time! There are also various ways to donate to the less fortunate; your time, money, food, clothing, etc.

It feels good inside your heart, and in many religions, or for many individuals; they don't do it to get into heaven, or to remove their sins! They do it, because they care about mankind, are compassionate people, and because they believe we have only one race; which is the human race!

I'm going to donate some gently used clothing, and also a few bras to charity, soon! I found a few organizations that take brand new, like-new, gently worn bras for the less fortunate. Here are the links.

In our religion we definitely believe in donating to charity, and I want to get back to doing it; as often as possible!

https://brightly.eco/blog/where-to-donate-bras

"Sikhs believe that charity should not be given in an attempt to curry favor with God; instead it should be given out of the pure desire to help others, an act that itself brings one closer to God."

Homemade Vegetarian Sushi Rolls!

My 1st time making these vegetarian style. They came out almost perfect, and were delicious! It was my husband's 1st time eating seaweed & sushi. I do believe he enjoyed them!

I've been actively researching, and cooking a variety of healthy, delicious vegetarian recipes for us the past 3 months. I love trying out new recipes, especially healthy ones that taste yummy!

My ultimate goal in being a homemaker, as far as cooking; is to always cook things that will produce health benefits for our bodies! It's well worth the effort in researching, and the time it takes to make nutritious dishes.

We sincerely care so much about each other's overall health, and prove it on a DAILY BASIS! I love the role of being a housewife, especially the responsibility, and element of cooking! Cooking homemade meals that are utterly delicious, plus are healthy; is something I take pride in, and absolutely love doing for loved ones!

I was just telling my Mother, yesterday, that I undoubtedly feel blessed to be able to buy healthy ingredients, and have the opportunity to make any kind of foods I want for my husband, and myself! She agreed we are blessed!

Seaweed has tremendous health benefits, and obviously vegetables do, too! I think it's super fun to tryout new dishes, and see my husband's reaction to them! Cooking us such a huge passion of mine!

"Technically a fruit, red peppers are more common as a staple in the vegetable produce section. They're also an excellent source of vitamins A and C. Each half cup of raw red pepper provides you with 47 percent of your daily recommended intake of vitamin A and 159 percent of your vitamin C."

Fun yesterday creating a new online hairstyling course!

I managed to get one look recorded. The course will feature how-to create 4 different hairdos using 4 different sets of clip on bangs.

I'll try to come up with a vintage style look, but I began with this modern-day look. I love clip on bangs, because they're so inexpensive, you can find several styles on Amazon, and at many online stores. Endless looks can be achieved, and they're super easy to put on& take off.

Today, I'm inspired to create!

I'm going to start creating a new online course on styling clip on bangs, in various styles. I'll do only a few today, a few tomorrow, and finish recording the full course, this weekend.

I'm going to have to take like 2 weeks off from styling myself, and my mannequin. So, today, I'll utilize my positive energy, and inspiration to be productive, and creative! My inspiration today, comes directly from within me!
