~~~~Quill workshop in Listuguj~~~~
One thing I love about having these types of workshops is sharing of stories and laughter.
I was asked to participate in Long Point’s Culture Camp this week.
I did two day belt workshop, along with other amazing facilitators.
The memories I bring back from the camp is what I would to share the beautiful experiences that have shaped my life. From hunting and beading to basket making and using a moose caller, each moment spent at culture camp has deepened my connection to our heritage.
These activities are not just traditions; they are ways we bond, learn, and grow together. Sharing food and harvesting together reminds us of the importance of community and the land we cherish.
I encourage everyone to embrace and celebrate our cultural practices. Let’s keep sharing these experiences, so they continue to inspire future generations.
Can not beat the view at Sand Bay
Finally, I captured the Northern Lights with my IPhone
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve embarked on a new adventure! As of September, I’ve decided to leave the traditional workforce to focus full-time on my passion for crafting. I’m now offering concho belt and quill workshops.
These workshops are perfect for team-building exercises, fostering creativity, and bringing people together through hands-on art. If you know anyone or any organizations that might be interested, please feel free to share my contact information or message me for more details.
Thank you for your support on this journey- I can’t wait to create something special with you!
Thank you to the organizers for hosting the concho belt workshop.
Once again last weekend, I was a travelling gypsy. Thank you Janice for the invite to be part of your regalia workshops. Working side by side with the youth and the parents are a blessing. The connections we all made during the workshop will last forever.
A beautiful day for a concho belt workshop here in Paqtnkek 🥰
Thank you to the organizers for hosting this two day fun filled belt workshop here in Gesgapegiaq. The pride these ladies felt after creating their belts. Some ladies were extremely scared to come but felt they needed to join. To their amazement, they had completed their belt and were so grateful to everyone in the room with the encouragement they received.
Love hearing people say when they see a porcupine dead on the side of the road, they automatically think of me…. Thank you to Mary-Beth and her program for hosting this eight point star quill workshop.
Since I’ve been home, I have been given many opportunities to share my skills to others by teaching for some their first time to quill.
Thank you everyone for the love and support. Much love 💕
Another beautiful day to spend with some lovely ladies.
Excited to see some new dancers that will be completing their regalias for the pow wow this year ….. self love.
St. Mary’s belt workshop
Todays workshop 💕hosted by
St. Mary’s community
As a youth I spent a lot of time in Gesgapegiag, it’s not my home but I feel a beautiful connection with the people here.
One thing you’ll hear in this community is the people speaking the language. I cried at the end of this workshop with a few ladies as it touched me to have almost everyone here only speak Mi’gmaw. The women were patient with me while I tried to u deer and the conversation. I felt blessed to be there at that moment.
Double Belt workshop
Each workshop is special, creating friendships is part of this process. I’m truly lucky.
Customer order completed
I wanted to share a post that a participant made from being in one of my workshops.
💕
What a proud moment watching these ladies learn a new skill on belt making. They seemed very scared seeing the tools we will be using but that didn’t stop them. They created such beautiful art last night.
I wanted to thank my beautiful friend, Suzanne for coming out to help again with the workshop.
And thank you to
The Akwesasne Community Justice Program- Letsiiatahonhstat Victim Services for hosting the belt making workshop.
A special order headed out tomorrow.
Moose antler with wrap quills with horse hair for a little boujee touch
Love seeing that the belt workshop classes get booked fast. This means, everyone is getting ready for the pow wow season.
Last month’s workshop in Walpole Island. I had the pleasure of having my friend, Suzanne help me out with back to back workshops. I swear I’m luckiest person on earth to have a friend like her and to be around with such loving women.
Had such a wonderful time last week in Rapid Lake for a belt workshop.
Thank you Steve for hosting the concho belt workshop.
My best buddy, Steve 🙂. Cooked me some bologna for my bday during a belt workshop.
