Vidlič mountain near easternmost serbian city Dimitrovgrad. Guvnište 1413m is highest peak and there is one great long 10km ridge above cliffs. From the top you can observe Stara mountain or even Vitosha in Bulgaria.

Jelasnica gorge located only 12km from city center (Niš, airport INI) has much to offer. This is less visited "right side" or west side of this gorge with less known peak and viewpoing Kulina, around 500m altitude with amazing view of Suva mountain. Closest place is village Jelasnica.

Again, Kusaca peak near amazing Sicevo gorge, only 15km from center of city of Niš. From this place you can see entire ridge of Svrljig mountains, Suva mountain and Niš city and even Kopaonik mountain when it is clear weather.
Kozji Kamen ("Goat's rock") and the pefect view of Stara planina's peak Midžor, river Visočica and Zavoj lake. Trail to this place is only 3,4km long in one direction from asphalt road and only 10km from city of Pirot
Vučjanka canyon is wonderful in winter. The last two years, the highest amount of snow in Serbia has fallen on Mount Kukavica. Records are falling and a new one of 118cm of snow has already been this year. However, snow does not retains too long.
Tupavica is one of a hundred waterfalls in Stara mountain near city of Pirot and this is one of the highest cascade type waterfalls on Balkan peninsula. The best starting point to this waterfall is from nice village of Dojkince (700m alt.). Trail is 5km long with no big height difference, only 300m.

Rosomac peak near city of Pirot, close to the border between Serbia and Bulgaria is perfect viewpoint if you want to enjoy Stara mountain (Balkan mointain). From this point yon can easily view the highest peak of Stara, Midzor 2169m and a valley between.
Valozi and Gloška mountains located about 20km south from lake Vlasina. The peaks with 1756 and 1805m height, are good choice for hiking in any season. Starting point is near Lisine lake.
