Tonight’s the night!
JOHN BROWNRIGG DUKEBOX
Live at 6pm Sunday
Tune in to my page.
Some of my favourite tunes
Yeh so it’s Ozy Day. No gig today oh wait no gig for two years. I’ve lost the drive.
I heard our premier talking on radio yesterday. Part of his speech was inferring that singing and dancing was not important. F**k! He missed the point.
I had a great gig booked Xmas Eve. Employing 6 fellow musicians. Cancelled the morning of the gig, due to added restrictions placed the day before. Hence the audience cancelled in droves. So gig was cancelled. The venue manager looked like death warmed up as we both could not believe the insanity of our situation.
Since then any gigs I had booked, have been canned or put on hold.
I’ve been gigging since 1962 and this is the worst situation my industry has ever faced.
Please I beg you, the powers at be, stop pandering to big sport and start catering to your base, the regular family men and women who are not invested in world betterment but in family security and personal safely.
Great job well done
1965/66 good fun band

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
Musings of 21 and hopes for 22:
It’s been a long year. Covid dominating everything. Lockdowns and ever changing rules and restrictions being really confusing. I’ve had several gigs cancelled including two trips to Queensland. Things were getting better until changes to the rules from one day to the next then over 20000 contagions per day.
My New Years resolution is to stay home. I’m due for my booster shot come February and after that I shall reassess where I’m at.
I’ll communicate via social media and indulge in movie/TV watching. I’ll order my shopping on line and click and collect. I’ll welcome close friends and family to visit and do a weekly gig live to Facebook.
I will visit my Grandson Frank, Great Grandson Otis
and his mum Mia. ‘Best Xmas pressy ever’. Got to do that.
So with any luck I probably won’t see you so have a happy NY and I hope it’s a good one.
In love peace and respect to all.

JOHN BROWNRIGG
Am really bummed by the cancellation of todays Xmas Eve gig at The WATERFRONT STORE Church Point. I was so looking forward to it. Had my band all ready to party and I’d written a couple of songs special for the Occassion. I’m so sorry to everyone who’d booked or heading over for the gig.
I’ve decided to re introduce my LIVE ON FACEBOOK gigs, as at least they don’t get cancelled on me. Not sure how often yet but at least once a week.
I’m doing my first one tomorrow Christmas Day late afternoon so please tune in we’ll have a few laughs tell a few lies and sing some great songs.
Merry Christmas to us all.
Cheers
John
CHRISTMAS EVE GIG IS CANCELLED
due to updated covid restrictions my show at WATERFRONT CAFE CHURCH POINT is now cancelled. We had a full house booked but Mary has had to cancel due to the new restrictions and people cancelling. The venue and myself and all my pleasures are truly sorry for this. Personally I thought it was all over. It alas …
May we wish you all a merry Christmas and May 2022 be more productive that 2021.
Cheers

JOHN BROWNRIGG My best mate Premier bass player Tim Partridge has now left the stage. There will forever be someone missing from my band.
Prelude to
STAND BY ME
Dear friends we are gathered here today
To celebrate our freedom once again from lockdown.
A time to rejoice a time to live and let live. A time to be smart about personal space and hygiene.
And if you, like I have been, unable to see friends or celebrate a birthday or a birth or a funeral then now is the time to remember those folks, here and now while surrounded by friends.
STAND BY ME
Merry merry. Hope to see you at The WATERFRONT STORE CHURCH POINT on Friday Christmas Eve from 3.30 to 6pm. I’ll have the whole JOHN BROWNRIGG JAM BUTTY BAND including Richelle Bootsie Booth on sax and Phil Nunn on guitars with Dave Richards playing bass, Adam Barnard Drums and Tim Byrne keys.
Make a booking for the knees up. No more restrictions so dancing is not only allowed but essential.
Nice hey
