My writing journey: I posted this on IG this weekend as part of a trend, but I thought it was worth posting here if only to show how many books I wrote before I decided to self-publish my Blackwood Cellars Series in 2021, starting with Blue Hawaiian.

While this list shows my completed manuscripts, it doesn't show all the months I spent revising (and re-revising) them in the hopes of hitting a sweet spot with an agent or an editor. Nor does it include my false starts, short stories, novellas, or weird attempts at fan fiction when I was younger.

Even if those early books ended up being shelved, I learned so much by writing them (and I still haven't given up on Piper Girl!).

Today, Sept. 15, marks the official start of Latinx/Latiné Heritage Month. While I believe we should celebrate Latinx/Latiné culture, art, food, traditions, and history year-round, this month is the perfect opportunity to recognize the contributions of Latinx/Latiné authors in the adult romance genre.

From contemporary to dark to q***r romance, there is no limit to what we write.

I’m excited to share that we’re taking over Instagram for the next 30 days for the first-ever “Latinx/Latiné Romance Author Chain”!

Here’s how it will work. Tomorrowon Instagram, authors Claire Contreras and Dominique Laura will post a little bit about themselves and their books and then tag 2 more authors for the next day. Then they’ll tag 2 more authors and so on and so on. If you follow the chain all month, you’ll be introduced to 60 Latinx/Latiné romance authors! Some you may already know and love. Others, we hope, will be new to you and you’ll rush to check out their books.
