Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated would like to take a moment and say Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible fathers, father figures, and mentors out there! Today, we want to take a moment to honor and celebrate the remarkable men who have made a positive impact on our lives. We recognize and appreciate the importance of fatherhood and the vital role fathers play in shaping our communities.

We are grateful to all the fathers who have helped and inspired many generations. Let us not only honor our own fathers but also uplift and acknowledge fathers in our communities. Let’s celebrate those who work tirelessly to provide for their families, who are involved in their children’s lives, and who serve as positive role models. In this workshop, you’ll learn about three real life scams online and familiarize yourself with some of the techniques scammers commonly use to access sensitive information. Zora Neale Hurston, author, anthropologist, filmmaker and proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (1922) was a prolific writer of “folk fiction” who rose to prominence during the Harlem Renaissance.

She wrote more than 50 short stories, plays and essays and published four groundbreaking novels. Hurston’s portrayal of racial struggles in the American South during the early 1900s illuminated her anthropological expertise and filmmaking skills and catapulted her to the forefront of the the Harlem Renaissance cultural movement. Her riveting representations of the reality of the African American experience of love and life in the post-reconstruction era, as well as her public research of hoodoo earned her both acclaim and critique. Her eloquent, unapologetic writings challenged the status quo and brought the African diaspora into new elements of investigation, research and contemplation on what it means to be Black in America and abroad.

Black History Month is an annual observance created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson that originated as a week-long celebration, coinciding with the birthdays of Fredrick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

Over the years, the observance increased in popularity throughout the US; and in 1969, ‘Black United’ students at Kent State University proposed extending the celebration to a month. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to both honor the Extraordinary Black women from our past who have paved the way for progress, and pay tribute to those Finer women who are shaping our future by making history each and everyday!

Join us as we pay homage to our trailblaZers past, present and future and remind the world that Black History is more than just a month. Black History is the world’s history and it should be celebrated everyday throughout the year!

And today, we give honor and celebrate the birth of our Triumphant Founder, Arizona Cleaver Stemons, as we continue to expand our footprint worldwide as a leading community-conscious, action-oriented organization affecting change.
