If someone gives you a handmade gift this Christmas,
or a voucher for their babysitting or gardening,
or offers to cook you a meal one evening as their present to you…

don’t turn your nose up,
and don’t turn them down.

Because they are giving you one of the most precious commodities they have; time.

We cannot make more time and we cannot get it back once we’ve used it. So when someone chooses to spend their time on you, they are saying

“I am giving you a part of my life that I cannot get back”.

And surely that should be celebrated and treasured.

Because the true cost of anything is not in the money but in the moments of life we exchange it for.

So if someone is giving us moments of their life,
we shouldn’t feel put out.

We should feel incredibly,
immensely
privileged.
