I used to paint on my Hobonichi. The tomoe river is just amazing because it holds the paint well. Alas, my Hobonichi season is over after copping some of the special ‘Piece’ Covers. My wallet was never at peace after getting that. 🤭
If there is one thing I miss, it’s my table set up back in the Philippines. I brought my journals, stamps, wax seals and typewriter with me. But I miss my table and those wooden organizers. Everything transports me to my own little world.
We got food poisoning the other day so it has been hard since yesterday. For a foodie like me, getting sick like this is a nightmare but I am just grateful that we are okay now. We started eating solids again today so while the recovery is slow, we are getting there. ❤️ So be careful out there.
I am happy with my lemons. I am still far from where I want to be in terms of watercolor but progress is progress no matter how small.
Never put your tea near your wash bowl. 🙈 My honey citron now with a hint of Cadmium Yellow. 🫠
Been practicing layering lately - gawd so hard! 🙈
Any tips guys?
Been down with some infection these past few days so I haven’t painted nor touched my things. It’s a relief to have some artworks done previously so I can post during times like this.

If you were given an option to choose one, which would you choose?
A. A Student grade paint brush + artist grade watercolor
B. Professional grade watercolor brush + Student Grade watercolor
Why?
Last question, which of the two did you think I use? ❤️
Because it is I decided to head over to get a new paintbrush. Tried out different ones but liked the most. Used watercolor. Thank God it’s Sunday!
Sometimes I just allow my brush to play with the watercolor and see what it comes up with.
Trigger warning:
Moonlovers Scarlet Heart Reo is not your typical Kdrama. It is about love, friendship and betrayal that will leave a scar in your wounded heart.
I got so affected with the Kdrama that I made a washi tape art from it.
What do you think?
*tape *tapeart 🇲🇾
Floral wax seals, anyone?
I remember having thjs ink eradicator from the 60s. I got this from an antique shop but have totally forgotten that I have it. It is so cool! I tried using it though, but I can no longer open it.
Which among these powers would you like to possess?
This was one of my favorite pages. I just drew the jars cos I didn’t want to buy the stamps then used to give a vintage look. ❤️ What do you think?
There are good days and there are also bad days. Today is not my best in terms of watercolor. But it is okay, tomorrow is another day.
Snail mail on the way to Indonesia and India. ❤️
‘Bungkus’ means wrap or take away. Like in the Philippines, our usual ‘palamig’ is served in a cup or plastic. It is somewhat the same here in Malaysia, except there is a string tied on the other end of the plastic to serve as a handle.
‘Laksa’ on the other hand is a spicy noodle dish that has sambal and coconut milk. It is usually topped with prawns or cilantro.
The one in the middle is called ‘mangkuk tinkat’ or enamel tin container. It is used as a lunch box by Malaysians.

Specimen cards, anyone?
Some gold here and there. ❤️
Silly humans splurging on fountain pens, watercolor and stationery.
give me the best excuse to use my stamps again. Thank you guys!
I had fun doing this. Peranakan houses are such a beauty.
❤️
This was me journalling during winter in one of Takayama’s oldest onsens. That’s the best thing about our passion right? You can just bring a paper and your favorite medium and you’re good to go.
Travel and art do so well together. ❤️
