It’s official…we have a date! Make plans to attend the 2023 Finals are slated for the weekend of Saturday, March 23rd 5D RV Ranch & Rodeo in Anson. 2023 members welcome regardless of number of challenges attended. More information to come.

Good afternoon WRC family and friends. I know I keep saying this, but it looks like it’ll be March when we have a venue with cover, stalls, and RV slips. I’ll post a date as soon as I get works we are a go! Y’all stay warm!

Good afternoon WRC family! We are slowly starting to move forward with plans for a final WRC despite some continued health issues. We are looking at long-range forecasts and dates to pin down details. Hoping for a date in January, but a few things have to fall into place. Hope to have more information soon! Blessings!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Please share…

There will be a WRC fundraiser for Gary’s surmounting medical expenses on Saturday, 10/28th. $25/event with an optional $25/event jackpot. I’ll post a flyer ASAP.

The WRC FINALS scheduled for 10/27-29 are postponed for a tentative date in early January. Keep a look out for a flyer with more details coming soon.

IMPORTANT!!! Friends as many of you know we have been having several health issues here around the Headquarters. I won’t go into details but I want you to know the WRC in Anson has been canceled for this weekend.

I just had a major surgery last week and have not recovered enough to be putting on an event. In addition Jim Frank is having complications with his hip replacement. We will keep you posted as to any further details as soon as we know them.

The WRC Finals are scheduled for October 28-29th at the 5D Arena in Anson, Texas.

We will have two full rounds for all the open competitors. We will also offer the Beginner Class this year to make it fun for everyone. The fees will be as cheap as we can make them.. and you will go after the Open.

I NEED YOUR ENTRIES IN ASAP, SO THAT WE CAN HAVE AS MANY AWARDS ON SITE AS POSSIBLE.

THE FEES ARE TENTATIVELY SET FOR
OPEN $360, PLUS $60 DOLLAR CATTLE CHARGE

BEGINNER WILL BE $60

YOUTH $40

Result from the Flying X fun day

Some favorite moments from the event yesterday! Pastor Robert and his mare made the swim look easy! Our youngest had a blast in the shallow end and of course “Porky” and his girl stole the show and caused a ruckus!

Course! Free will! the obstacles are listed must complete all of them I will explain greater detail upon start. Jackpot has option of roping “Sweet pea” our pet lead heifer slick horns for a -30 second bonus! Yes friends she is in the course! 😂

Tried and true!

PLEASE READ! The melon festival is going on in town, they will make you take a small detour through town! When you pull through the gates park as close to the arena and as organized as you can.

This WILL BE THE GREATEST CHALLENGE TO DATE! First time "Trial" with our 3D Beginner Division. Our beginner division will be point based. The way you get into the beginner is by showing up and speaking to Candice. The way you stay in that division will be based on points. There will be a future post about how all of this works. Tara Gomez will be in charge of all of this!

This weekend all of the prowling will be different than we have ever done.. I will post photo of the obstacles and you will be able to do them how ever you think is the fastest! You will not have to do them in any particular order! I will post the images of the challenge, the obstacles needing done and the penalties for each division. The obstacles must be done, but can be in any order you see fit. The challenge for you is to make it happen the smoothest, fastest way possible!

Our cattle event will be run at the same time of the AT WILL prowling course. You will rope your cow and then reset and pen your cow right after. if you feel the cattle have been stirred up an you have an unfair advantage tell the flagger and we will take time to settle the cattle for you. This allows us to beat the heat and it seems to be less stress on the cattle. We will divide the entries and do needed cattle changes.

Bring your drinks, lunch and potty and we will provide a great time!

ATTENTION!! Saturday HANDY information.. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BLAST!!!

Be thankful it hasn't rained BUT, JACKPOT COMPETITORS you may are may not touch bottom and get wet. WE are having a Lonesome Dove themed Prowling course!! You will drag Gus across the river! You may have to rope a loose steer and there will be pigs involved!

Beginners you will have an easier course although water crossing is involved but shallow, no drag and no roping.

Bring your own drinks, potty and whatever you need to be content. See y'all soon. 😁 -Candice

Plan to get wet! Even the beginners are crossing water in prowling just at a different depth. This course will be a blast especially for the open jackpot!! Get ready to do this next WRC Flying X Ranch Horses style!

Just some moments shared yesterday ❤️. I have contemplated all words spoken to me and the ones that touched my heart greatly were the beginners. When we started I wanted to have a place for jackpotters and Beginners. That is where my heart is! With that said I will have a “Special” event at my place Aug. 5th it will have a (trial beginner division added as a special event class) You will be responsible for cattle fee plus a $10-15 entry fee per class. I have someone extremely knowledgeable in The horse industry who has my heart and is putting together the fine details for me. We will have have our standard 6D jackpot plus a 3D beginner only! Put it on your calendar! -

It seems the new format is a hit!!! What do you think about keeping it?

Attention! Running the prowling course at will! Means we will be running both cattle and prowling at the same time to beat the heat! We will explain further details at 8 am when we start!! We are trying to get you guys in and out the best we can. Two Flagger’s.. two time set ups and two office!!

BREAKING NEWS PLEASE SHARE.
In order to beat the heat this Saturday at the WRC Challenge we will start at 8 AM. You will rope first then pen your animal next. You will receive 2 times as always, and you will have a moment to transition from roping to penning. Lastly we will shorten the time allowed for each cattle event to 90 seconds, use your time accordingly. We will explain prior to event start
