Congratulations to REACH Georgia Scholar Tai-Leea Jones, Central High School Class of 2024, Bibb County School District! Tai-Leea Jones is the daughter of Shantae Hollingshed and Darrick Jones. She has participated in Beta, DECA, National Technical Honor Society, and National Honor Society, while attending Central High School. Tai-Leea will attend Albany State University in the fall majoring in Psychology to become a counselor.

Congratulations to REACH Georgia Scholar Marcelle Williams, Northeast High School Class of 2024, Bibb County School District! Marcelle is the daughter of Anne-Marie Royal. She has participated in the Northeast marching and concert bands all four years, golf, track, wrestling, academic and math teams, Junior Beta Club; and JROTC as a drill team, color guard, and JLAB team member. She is also a member of the Student Lighthouse Team at Northeast. She has volunteered with the Raider Battalion on service-learning projects and helped out at the downtown Macon Mulberry Outreach. She was nominated for a Golden Eagle Award and the Governor’s Honors Program, and she is a Young Georgia Authors state competitor. She plans to attend college in the fall to major in animal science or pre-veterinary medicine.

Congratulations to REACH Georgia Scholar Montavius Smith, Bibb County School District VIP Academy Class of 2024, Bibb County School District! Montavius Smith, the son of Ashley Smith, has been on a journey of self-discovery throughout high school. He was heavily involved in the marching band and football, which helped shape his path through school. After high school, he attended Hutchings College and Career Academy, where he focused on developing his skills and obtained the ServSafe Food Manager Certification. Montavius is strongly committed to giving back to his community and has spent numerous hours volunteering, particularly at the Next Level Community Development Center. He is excited to pursue his interest in media studies at Fort Valley State University in the fall.

Congratulations to REACH Georgia Scholar Sanniy Clowers of Southwest High School’s Class of 2024! Sanniy Clowers is the daughter of Jason Clowers and Jennifer Worthy. Sanniy is a member of FBLA and National Technical Honor Society. She has contributed to many community service projects such as Red Cross Blood Drive and Make Our Courtyard Beautiful. She participates in Bibb County’s Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP). Sanniy was also a part of the Academic dual enrollment pathway at Hutching College and Career Academy. Sanniy has gained her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Certification through Hutchings and she was awarded CTAE Student of the Year for her school. After high school, Sanniy plans to attend Central Georgia Technical College. Bibb County School District

Bibb County School District students, apply today to participate in this career-ready opportunity with Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center!

Partnering with the Bibb County School District today for the teammates of tomorrow!
Applications are now open for Atrium Health Navicent’s Realizing and Encouraging Adolescents to pursue Careers in Healthcare (REACH) program! Those accepted will receive hands-on training and the opportunity to shadow Atrium Health Navicent teammates during the course of a four-week program! Interest areas of this program include: nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, radiology, health care administration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and general physician.
Students will receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion of the program and an invitation to attend the REACH program graduation ceremony.

Eligibility requirements are:
Be at least 16 years old at the start of the program
Have a minimum, unweighted 2.5 GPA
Have an interest in pursuing a career in health care
Have a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor
Complete and submit all required application materials by the application deadline
Those selected must be able to participate and complete the program.

'I'm really grateful' : Bibb County middle school students receive $10K REACH Scholarship Students are provided with the academic, social, and financial support to help them graduate from high school, attend college, and be prepared for the workforce.

The Bibb County School District honored the latest class of REACH Georgia Scholars with a Signing Day on Wednesday, December 13! The latest class of scholars includes the following students: Lamario Scott, Appling Middle School; Savada Jones, Ballard Hudson Middle School; Khilee Mann, Howard Middle School; Jabrea Williams, Miller Fine Arts Magnet Middle School; Annabelle Ellison, Rutland Middle School - Macon, Ga; and Cristian Perez, H. G. Weaver Middle School. Scholars were joined by parents, administrators and the principals or counselors from their zoned high school.

In 2016, the Bibb County School District was one of numerous school districts in Georgia to join the REACH Scholarship Program. The REACH Scholarship Program was launched in 2012 and is a needs-based mentorship and scholarship program designed to encourage students, starting in middle school, to persist in their educational pursuits. Students are provided with the academic, social and financial support needed to graduate from high school, attend college, achieve post-secondary success and be prepared for the 21st century workforce.

The REACH Foundation provides 75 percent of the funding for the scholarships and local school districts must raise the remainder. This means that upon their graduation from a Bibb County high school, each REACH Scholar will receive a $10,000 scholarship for college. Some partnering colleges and universities in Georgia will even match or double-match this amount for REACH Scholars.

For the first time ever, the Bibb County School District's graduation rate exceeded the state graduation rate! Bibb's graduation rate is 87.1% and Georgia's graduation rate for the Class of 2023 is 84.4%!
