The past few months has been brutal on our guy and the family and friends of one of the most incredible humans to ever walk this earth . My buddy introduced me to Rich about 7 years ago and said. “you have to meet one of my buds named Rich Ham, he’s just the best person and he’s so fun.” I couldnt have said it better. We became instant brothers. He and Corbin welcomed us into the 888 Hospitality family and Richard insisted we meet with him to see if he could help me on the journey in any way possible. He helped me on so much more than just the melin journey. Richard included me in a very select group of his most highly qualified friends and connected me with the owner of the Sac Kings, the Wal Mart family, the Panda Express family, and the boys Frankie and Spencer behind sugar factory and Yamashiro ( a childhood birthday fav spot for me as a kid). He and Corbin hosted the melin team on his Rooftop in Laguna countless times and forced me to take a bet on opening our first retail store in his prime Laguna PCH location where it stands today. He brought me to his home with and I got to see that he was an even more loving and giving husband and father than anyone I’d ever seen. He always sent the most thoughtful little gifts on holidays, welcoming our sons and sometimes just because. He opened up his gorgeous Hawaii home to host our team, our friends and family to make memories we will take with us forever and he introduced us to multiple charities and supported the ones we already worked with because he loved to give back, to pour into his people and to inspire those around them to reach for more and do more for others. I am devastated to lose my brother so early in life and will work to carry on his legacy to be sure his kids know how special and important their dad was to so many and to be here for his family always. I will wake up each day and will speak to Rich and smile thinking about his laugh and how positive he always was in hopes I can have even the slightest ability to make people feel how Rich did. He ran the 8s because they mean forever and that’s how long his legacy will last. Love you bro. ❤️

With businesses, our fam with a few kiddos and the desire to get better every day I wake up at 4:30am every day to grab some alone time to think, give thanks, check status to goals and set up priorities for the day. On the morning of NYE day I like to get up even earlier to look back on my photos for the entire year to remind me of how blessed we are, how all of that effort, output and time was spent. I reflect on the many moments of huge wins and milestones, the trials and tribulations, the challenges presented and overcome, and the sometimes devastating news out of our control that always helps me remember what’s most important in life. It’s always the same… it’s the moments spent with our loved ones, the sharing of smiles, the support given and received. It’s the prioritization of time spent laughing, sharing perspectives and learning that I always value most. With all the big wins we celebrated this year; becoming official headwear of only to be complimented by record snowfall, dialing in our global partnership with , seeing MJ and pop up running , the Hydro summer camp trip to Naci, opening our Newport store, welcoming and to the melin fam, winning all over the place, crushing , a collab w , getting rolling , celebrating our 10 yr in biz and so many more achievements we have so much to be thankful for. Personally my tanks are full but we have also been dealt some devastating blows in the losses of several members of my family and several more of our friends and family battling cancers…..The horrible Maui fires. This year the economy turned and Ukraine and Israel were attacked……with so much to smile about I couldn’t help but feel frustrated and unsettled with a growing fire burning deep down in me screaming at me to do more in 2024. Prioritize my health and say yes to more. Execute more goals. Inspire more people. Be stronger for our loved ones. Soak up more moments with them and be creative in finding solutions. Pursue more exploration. Be more present. LETS GET IT ❤️

Ten years ago we were fortunate enough to have had the support from key family and friends who bet on this little premium headwear idea called . The early support from this original crew who believed in the vision, the concept of better made, and that more thought and detail could result in a better consumer experience that could have potential, will stay with us forever. We are forever grateful. Without the early belief from the likes of Lance and Susan Roth, Brad, Paone, Steiny, Uncle Thom, Eddy, , Chamby, Nick, Jay, Paul, Cort and Tay, Reddaway, Fisk, OB, Goody and many others along with our grinders , Chad, Luke, Uncle Wiggy B, HD, Kelly, Jellig, Shane and the absolute angels and .lee along with our family who put us in gear, Lisa and Steve, Cody, Seth, Don and Sutter…..wow the list of love and support it took to even get this going is crazy and humbling to reflect on. A huge and very special thank you to our and Archipelago family who took us from a struggling start up and instilled principles, resources, discipline, lessons and backing beyond our wildest dreams, to you all we want to thank you from the depths of our souls. To my day to day melin family, up at the HQ with us and our remote fam, thank you all for everything each of you do! Extra special thank yous to and for backing us before anyone else and for giving us the strength to persevere when things were really tough. Super big thank you to my right hand and left hand and for the day to day passion, focus and determination and refusal to let up. Thank you Jim Harris, and JV for everything everyday and always. And not lastly but firstly, thank you to every single one of you out there who voted for us with your purchases and for spreading the melin love through smiles, nods and cap tips to strangers world wide every day. We are so grateful to be celebrating this special 10 year milestone with you all and look forward to the next together. We are finally just getting rolling over here! Growing up as your son was the ultimate blessing. To this day you are my first choice for a quickstrike adventure to Mammoth or the lake on a guys weekend. When we first started working w 7 years ago we saw something special, a talent and passion intertwined for the exact mission we had at melin….. elevate the category of headwear. As Tripp and the product and marketing teams have put their heads together we challenged ourselves to reduce weight, increase dry times, reduce material and deliver a higher performing product than we had to date. I met Chuckie P about 5 years ago, pretty early in the journey and he had already been organically supporting us for a year by the time we met. The first time I saw Chuckie P was from the sidelines as a fan when he launched a huge cliff drop on his snow skis and since then I followed and paid attention. It wasn’t long after he waterskied in to Jaws triple overhead and set a world record. I was a fan from day one and when our mutual friends advocated for how rad he is, I was really looking forward to meeting him. Right away it was clear CP is a gear head and literally uses every water and snow toy imaginable unloading his lifted Tundra the day we met. He had so much insight into ways to improve our hats for the water and from the jump Chucks energy and smile has lit up the room and everyone he has encountered on the melin team. We have been working on his hat, the Trenches Neptune with him for years now and we are all so hyped to finally present Chuckie Ps hat to the world. graduated Kindergarten today and crushed his speaking part in front of everyone! He practiced his part all night and morning and nailed it. 9 years ago we started a premium headwear brand out of a small office in Laguna Hills. Today we celebrated the official grand opening of the first CEL (Customer Experience Lab) next door to on PCH in Laguna Beach thanks to and the unrelenting support from all of you.
