Six times more people like a picture of me wearing a nice suit than liked a picture of me holding a painting and asking for support for people who’ve survived modern slavery and are finding a pathway toward hope in their lives. And by support, I mean £1! Now, this t-shirt is on sale at £30… and is unrelated… sort of… the thing is, I know my niche here more than ever, I know what you’re here for… many of you… not all. So in order to get a click, share, like or purchase we need to re-think and re-approach. We won’t sell loads of this t-shirt but that’s not the point. We won’t raise truck loads of cash for people who need it. That’s not primarily the point either. Thanks for following, liking, commenting, engaging, sacrificing £1 or £30… keep on keeping on! You can pre-order this t-shirt via the link in my bio. ✌🏼👀

Saturday morning wardrobe tidy up got me trying on this suiting combo that I waited for a while to pair up and had not took a chance to wear just yet. The double pleat trousers are a little lighter in colour than the pre-owned blazer I snagged for an absolute steal last year but I’m all set for a court appearance or maybe presenting Match of the Day? In all seriousness, how about those clowns at the BBC… 👏👏👏 well done and those standing with him to name a few. ✌🏼❤️ (also wearing a UW patchwork shirt, their socks and shoes)

This was yesterday before we went toy shopping, lunch eating, coffee drinking and so on… the boy has a head cold, started sneezing occasionally yesterday, no temp, still eating all of the food! Just occasional projectile snot! So that’s nice! Last night was zero sleep which is hilarious because I spoke it into being in a conversation at the supermarket earlier in the day! (I don’t really mean that)! Anyhoo, I’ve been filtering the X boots into shoe rotation + the selvedge jeans and shirt. Tomorrow I’m doing an instagram live chat with about our campaign. Thanks for those who’ve donated and shared the posts/stories. We’re not done yet, there’s loads more to do and say… and we need a lot more of you to share the campaign… 😉👀✌🏼❤️ have a nice Sunday, I’ll be wiping up phlegm a fair bit… maybe watch the biggest game in English football later! 👀⚽️

The boy is now off for half-term, a week after was off for half-term! He had a haircut this morning and then we went straight toward an impromptu to eat grilled cheese toasties, expensive crisps and Portuguese tarts, washed down with lashings of beautiful coffee… I sound like I’m writing an Enid Blyton story over here! There have been some challenges over the last couple of weeks… parenting stuff, work, juggling time, prioritising etc. I’ve been reading The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by which has been super helpful and challenging. We’ll launch the partnership with in a few days, in between the lines of that late half-term I’ll be telling you more about that and asking you for £1 in exchange for a digital download of a piece of my artwork created especially for the campaign. We’re raising money to help survivors of modern slavery. Will focus more on that in a few days. Enjoy your weekend. Get outside, kick a ball around, get sand in the footwells of your car, play with your kids, bite hard into something tasty that is unhealthy and beautiful! ✌🏼ps: I wish I’d washed my car. The roads to school and to the in-laws over the last few days were a right mess with farmer debris! 💩

Dealing with post-school drama and meltdowns from the four year old… somebody bumped into somebody else (again) and his elbow was sore and he was sad and then he wanted his iPad and declared he was hungry four thousand times in the space of ten minutes… 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Orange. I think Johnny Sacks orange prison jumpsuit inspired my choice of colour this morning. Mr. & Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request… "Say hi to Don Ho!"

That’s me looking outside, seeing the sunshine and saying “let’s go to the beach for the last day of the season.” Terrific filter, salted caramel squares, a sneaky Anzac biscuit for home, scooter, sand, ice-cream… spirit and sand-filled boots by the sea! Super Sunday!

Kids, your transfer test (I failed mine) and choice of secondary education is all well and good but train track building with a four year old is where it’s really at! Teamwork, patience, disappointment, elation and being able to rip up your ideas, hopes and dreams and start all over again. Or something like that! 🤷‍♂️

My custom one-of-a-kind “Aslan” jeans by in dual line selvedge. It’s almost February… let me share a little story about these jeans. When I got them, I didn’t start into the “breaking in” phase right away, and then like many of us during the pandemic, I’d gained a few pounds so they just felt uncomfortable. More so than usual with new raw denim. I haven’t ran since October last year. Running kept my weight level. We’ve had so many colds and bugs and I kept having niggling injuries so, rather than dwell on the lack of running, I began a slow gradual process of strengthening and stretching using resistance bands. At home, not a crazy routine, no forced diet, no gym membership, no pressure, ease off and rest when I need to, not focussing on weight but instead, on how I feel. Arms, core, crunches, planks, Russian twists etc etc. And the jeans feel goo-ood!! The moral of the story? Make your own story!

28/01/2023

My boots are ten years old. They haven’t seen a mountain since before the boy was born, perhaps this summer they’ll trek into the Mournes… these days they see beaches, forests and muddy paths sporadically. But, you can’t underestimate the importance of a good pair of boots. Jeans and parka by - west side vibes in Portrush this morning w/ tremendous coffees at and those ridiculously tasty addictive salted caramel squares… 😎 anyone wanna come wash my car and vacuum out the sand? 🥴😄✌🏼

January thus far, has been a patchwork. Or a rollercoaster… or maybe a quagmire… perhaps a jigsaw puzzle. We’re watching The Banshees of Inisherin. I’ve nothing better to be doing with me fecking time than on here whinging… actually, I have plenty to be doing with me fecking time!! 🤣🤣 Fit items are tagged… 👋🏼✌🏼

22/01/2023

Sunday morning fit: double pleat pant in navy twill and bakers jacket in light olive twill w/ shoes for the win. These first few weeks of the new year have felt like oh… twenty weeks… the snow, even if it only lasted for a week, managed to make time stand still. But onwards one day at a time eh…

19/01/2023

What is more important than schedules and work and the expectations of others? This. “Shall we stay home, shovel snow and make the worst snowman in history son?” Yes we shall! As it happens the human across the street has parked their car awkwardly in front of our driveway and on the bend into our cul de sac… “Daddy, why is that car parked there?” Son, that is a good question, one that only God himself knows. “Can we go inside? My toes are cold.” Yes we can. I’m not predicting that as our boy grows up, I’ll be the parent who ditches school to have an occasional adventure with him but… 😳😁😎 maybe we’ll park over your driveway someday! ✌🏼

17/01/2023

Still in the peacenik pants! With shirt and jacket for that snowy January morning. It’s cold out there, actually and metaphorically… ie: two stories I posted this morning about wage rises being at a high point while inflation is waaaaaay higher and, here in Northern Ireland we’re anticipating a mental health pandemic because of the cost of living. Nice… right? You can’t fix all of that right but on Saturday morning I hung out with a friend, made some coffee, talked openly about mental health, work, money, stress…and it was good. Helpful. Encouraging. If you can do that with one or two people, do it. If you employ people, ask them if they’re ok? If you’re employed, ask your work colleagues if they’re ok. If you’re doing ok, be thankful. If you can do something to help someone, do it. Offer some hope eh? I reckon we can weather the storm and failing all that, we’ll storm the building, rip up the seats right? 🥴👀✌🏼

15/01/2023

Sunday fit: peacenik pant in navy ripstop + their utility shirt in wool plaid. I hadn’t worn this shirt much last year but broke it out because it matched my new frames… 🤣 I just finished reading a book by - one of very very few “spiritual” type book/authors besides Richard Rohr that I’ve read in years. Have now moved onto another that my therapist shared some extracts from last week. Courage, boundaries, people, good, bad, internal, external… lots to think about as we crawl through January. Mostly matching shirts snd glasses though!

13/01/2023

Historically it always takes a few weeks for me to ease into January, work, routine etc. I’ve been busy building mega train tracks for our burgeoning collection of Thomas the Tank Engine trains. I intentionally planned meetings sooner this year than I would usually do, put my foot down onto the “go” button so to speak and… we’re off… it won’t be long until I can properly tell you about the project with that we’ve been working on… its super exciting and a great way to maybe change a little of my trajectory but more importantly it’s intention is to help people who need help most.. lots more happening for the year ahead… we’ll see eh? I can’t wait!! Back to that train track!✌🏼

12/01/2023

Pottery. I’ve been quiet, but busy so… back in a bit with fits and so on… ✌🏼

07/01/2023

Saturday morning fried breakfast at the local garden centre. Weird vibe. Decent breakfast. Lots of nice expensive plants. It did occur to me afterwards that wearing camo could have facilitated some kind of stealth plant theft. We’re back to proper routine from Monday so keeping it chill this weekend, washed the car with the new gear got me for Christmas. Best car wash kit around. Back to Saturday night Pizza and so on… ✌🏼

05/01/2023

Eye test. Boy back to school. First time we’ve been out for a meal together on our own for oh… forever is a long time! Vegan dessert because everything else was a bloated dairy festival of fart inducing fresh cream and baked bokes! Ok, that’s harsh. Everything was splendid! And the wee golf playing ladies are bantz, with their off clothes, abrupt demeanour and reserved parking spaces! That’s us back to routine, almost… Christmas is a memory for the archives, dry January is a few days in, getting new glasses hopefully from because local offerings were bobbins… and… I’m digging my heels into work from now. As you were!

03/01/2023

Oh man! You know when you’ve experienced a kind of sh*tty Christmas… but then you come up from the trenches and hear about what other people have been wrestling with? Saying things like “it could be worse” or “well at least we don’t have it as bad as those people” isn’t really helpful but, putting some perspective on one’s struggles by appreciating the good things sure does help. I watched White Noise on Netflix last night. I have so many things to say about it, the absurdity aside… I think I need to watch it again. Noise, distraction, consumerism, mass hysteria, media lies, coercion, control… distractions from reality amid a chaotic and weird, often unexplainable world. Timely but abstract viewing which I’m sure many people will hate or be confused by. Anyway, back to thankfulness, and hope.

Last post of 2022. You’ve seen enough of my face this year… thanks for following, commenting, encouraging, gifting, unfollowing and so on and so forth!

30/12/2022

This faceless wonder has been a superstar all week. His Christmas was more or less fecked! Pardon my French but seriously, getting flu a couple of days before the big Santa birth of Jesus festive present day… c’mon… that sucks! Anyway, we’re all a bit bitter now… I’m as baffled by life’s randomness as I’ll ever be, but hopeful and thankful: for sleep, track pants, whiskey, chocolate, crisps, courage, psalm 23, re-runs of movies I love, staying home, fleece garments and random beer drop-offs on my doorstep. Onwards to 2023!

29/12/2022

Stripes innit. Crawling toward 2023. Thoughts: tentatively… working hard, doing the best work I can, growing my business, being a good Dad and husband, dressing well, being thankful, trusting, hoping, buying less, reading more, rowing machine, spin, eating better… lol. New year resolutions/ideas and lists are a laff right? Let’s see how it goes! Socks, pants, shirt are all and shoes + t-shirt - vibes: all my own!
