My first real commission (excluding the swap of art for duck eggs!) has arrived at its destination! I loved the challenge of making this custom piece. It was an anniversary present, featuring their wedding song and flowers they wore for the ceremony. The plum color background is designed to compliment their home decor. I don’t do backgrounds often, but after this piece I might have to work them in more often!

This is my collection of flowering dogwood invitations. The art was taken from my original watercolor piece. Calligraphy was done by hand before being digitally combined with the art work. When I first began practicing calligraphy, I binged Murder, She Wrote. I couldn’t believe I missed the band wagon when it originally aired, but it made the hours fly right by as I practiced the letter “a” over and over. As such, it made perfect sense to use J.B. Fletcher for my inspiration.
