HOLY COW… I Just realized the I’ve hit 6-figures in my business… TWICE! 🤯
When I first left my job as a VP in publishing, I was scared. I had a small runway of time and money to get my business profitable. Unfortunately, I was not in a position to transition into entrepreneurship so I had to “take the leap of faith” with the business skill I had in had from leading a company.
I still remember the moment I knew I was ready to go into business in my own as a coach- I got a download from spirit. My guides were all there and Metatron led the way.
I remember his voice “make the plan.”
In just two and a half days I had created the business plan for my first business.
I didn’t know it at the time, but it was this business plan that helped me rendiré my resignation. It gave me the confidence to break it to my family and friends. And it allowed me to keep my relationship intact.
What do I mean by that?
Well, Mike and I were recently just dating. He had every reason to doubt me since I was a successful VP when we met. I walked him through my business plan and at the end of it he said “I love you even more.”
This is why the final project of ALL my Scholars is a business plan.
There is a reason why we see business owners in other industries with esteem… I brought this planning skill to my coaches.
I can see them transform into confident CEOs before my very eyes and I tear up and SCREAM when I see them make thier first sales…. Because I know what that means to them.
It’s never about the money. It’s what earning the money with thier ideas means.
Something about holding thier business plans changes them… I see their heads held high in transforming their modalities into life-transforming profitable coaching practices.
Like Clarisa Romero, I still remember her first sale… and now she is using Human Design to help career women figure out thier next move. AND she herself has booked over $17K since joining then Life Coach School, even when other coaches gave up on her.
Also Ann Garner, who closed her first $2K offer helping moms with Fibro navigate their chronic illness while parenting. She’s still a scholar and is already transforming her new clients mind!
Kendra Sandovalis another one of my Scholars and has closed over $15K in sales while helping busy successful women declutter their homes… and is not even close to graduating the school.
And the list goes on and continues to grow…
More than my business growth, I’m proud to say that my Life Coach Business School Scholars have made over $60K in sales collectively and are transforming the world one business at a time!

I’m never at a lost for words, but the overwhelming support I got from my current clients to write this next book has me speechless!
Today I received a Tiger’s Eye Owl from one of my current clients who got clients for her brand new coaching offer before she even graduated the LicFe Coach Business School.
With the Owl there was a not that red as follows:

Need I say that I immediately bursted out in tears? THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO!
To be honest, f*ck the sales, f*ck the marketing, f*ck the business model… none of what I do matters if I can’t help my Coaches find their VOICE!
They have been shamed for “not having the right mindset” to run a coaching business.
Ugh, IT’S NOT THEIR MINDSET!!!
My coaches want a way to connect their amazing gifts, talents, skills, modalities, tips and tricks with people who need their help. But it has to come from some who cares enough about THEM!
Every day I’m the grind with my clients. I’m not above that as a coach. I do the work I teach as well. I Share my own vulnerability with them. I’m not a better human than they are. I just happen to have a skill that will get them the clients they dream of helping while also getting them the money they want to fund their dreams, too.

GETTING MORE CLIENTS... HARD. PERIOD. 😉
I want to say this: getting more clients is one of the trickiest things to master as a coach.
Why?
Because getting more clients is a separate skill set from what we are normally good at, which is the "coaching" part.
From mindset to shadow work, we coaches get trained (or have studied) tools and modalities that really help transform lives. We know this because, let's be honest, most of us tried this stuff on ourselves first and saw the proof first-hand!
So, why is it so difficult to get more clients if your tools are extremely transformations? Shouldn't these tools just sell themselves because of how good they are?
And that's where Consumer Psychology comes in.
I spend HOURS studying what motivates people to buy coaching services from Life and Mindset Coaches. And what I have found is that people actually don't care about whether you're a Life or Mindset Coach or a therapist even... People will ALWAYS pay for help if it gets them out of PAIN!
So, how can you use this bit of information as a Life and Mindset Coach to get more clients?

LET ME CLEAR UP ANY CONFUSION ABOUT MY RELATIONSHIP TO THE AUTHOR INCUBATOR…
I realize this post is for a very small group of my current followers, but I wanted to be completely honest and transparent about my relationship with The Author Incubator and my past employer.
As I said, A small number of you met me during my tenure at The Author Incubator.
When I decided to leave The Author Incubator (TAI) almost two years ago, I actually fulfilled my contract with them and decided to run my coaching practice completely independently of them.
Why?
Because I was ready to grow my own coaching practice. That’s it.
See, when you work for someone, no matter how much you grow in that company, you will never get to drive your very own vision the way you want to. And that’s no disrespect to Founders all around the world. They put in the time and risk to build their businesses, so I completely understand that no employee should feel entitled to drive the Founder’s hard-earned success. That makes total sense to me.
However, the vision for my very own company and coaching practice never shrunk while I was at TAI- it only got bigger with time.
I dreamt of creating a company that taught what no other Business and Marketing Coach seemed to want to teach their clients… I was tired of Business and Marketing Coaches gaslighting their clients about their businesses saying “The reason you’re not successful is because of your mindset.”
My belief is that many of these Business and Marketing Coaches hang “mindset” over their clients’ heads because they are incapable of teaching core concepts to their clients or don’t have the experience to do so.
I grew to be the VP of Marketing, Sales, and Client Experience while at TAI. Yes, that was hard-earned and was a tough role (and I’m sure I wasn’t perfect at some points), but I will never forget directly discussing my departure with my past boss and how I was ready to do my own thing. It was at that point that together we created an actual exit plan that involved me doing some contracting work for a few months after I left. A year after that, I was no longer affiliated with TAI at all.
That said, I know that a number of you have reached out to me personally to express your experience with that group- for better or worse- and I always say that I appreciate the share and that I wish everyone a successful career in this industry.
Here is the part that most people don’t know…
When I Joined TAI, I had a very specific agreement with my former boss that we would treat my experience there as a mentorship. We agreed that would learn the ins and outs of building and running start-ups. It was always the plan that I would start my own practice after my departure. They honored their agreement, and I honored my part of the agreement by coming up with a healthy exit plan. And that worked perfectly.
That said, my only wish is that I no longer be associated with the TAI team because I frankly don’t know what they do with their company. I have my own business and I run things with my very own set of ethics and standards.
I try my best to cater to coaches who just need to learn how to build a cohesive business structure without being made to feel “less than.” I think this is why I attract a lot of empathic coaches.
That said, I want it to be very clear that I do not harbor ill will toward the TAI team and my previous employer, but I truly have a completely different and separate entity from them. I don’t do book stuff, publishing, or representations in my current business.
My practice, the Life Coach Business School, LLC., helps Life and Mindset Coaches design profitable coaching practices. Want to get your first coaching clients with a sustainable, repeatable, and profitable business structure? That’s what we do. Book stuff? We don’t do that.
I truly understand that everyone has different experiences with different coaches, but as I said before, I wanted to be honest and transparent about where I am in my own business after leaving TAI.
All in all, I know several of you may be able to understand what It’s like to leave a job (or want to leave a job) to start your dream coaching practice. That transition is one of the hardest transitions I’ve ever made mentally and emotionally. But guess what? It was worth every gray hair because my dream of impacting the world with my own voice never changed- the fulfillment I get every day, exclusively doing what I love, is now unmatched!
So, if you’re in that spot, in the job vs entrepreneurship limbo, I want to offer this: don’t give up on your dreams… And you know good and well that you probably couldn’t give up on them even if you tried to! 😉

PUERTO RICO CHRONICLES (part 2) 🇵🇷🏝️🥥
Being in Old San Juan is like stepping into Puerto Rico’s Spanish colonial history…
You can find traditional PR food, fine-dining options, all the shopping options, natural scenery and historical architecture.
On our second day here, not only did we have our huevos con tostadas, but we had up-done Caprese and gourmet Spinach croquettes with Negronis!
Funny thing is, I never knew that I would connect with my heritage as a tourist.
Yes, I’ve been here in the past to visit family, but other than my household food and Spanish-speaking in Miami where I grew up, the Island has always been a bit uncharted for me.
I am first generation Puertoriqño, which means that I am one generation detached from my roots here in PR. And so now I explore my background as a visitor.
While the history of PR is bitter sweet (I’ve shared that history in previous posts), when I travel here with my husband, I can’t explain the odd feeling of staring into the eyes of familiar features. In the contiguous US, I look ethnically ambiguous, but here, I look puertorican… I can find people who look like me!
And I think a part of me loves all of this familiarity. Yet, on the other hand, it reminds me of what it took me to get to where I am in my career.
See, when I was becoming a coach and starting my business for the first time, I didn’t feel like I belonged.
I didnt see successful coaches that looked like me And I certainly was confused when coaches told me to “use your own list to get your first clients.”
“No one I know hires high-ticket coaches. What list?” I would think to myself.
I knew that my strategy had to include the gaining access to new audiences… I was scared and I felt like a fraud. Yet the only thing I kept reminding myself of was “you are good at what you do… don’t lose track of that and you’ll figure out the rest.”
And now I’m doing the thing I wanted to do. The thing I day-dreamt happened to those “other people.” The thing that happened to people lucky enough to have the right connections. I now get to coach clients virtually and travel with my husband and laptop.
Today’s travel chronicle reminded me of my journey to creating this coaching career. I’m glad it’s happening but I’m even more glad that I’ll be able to help others do the same… take their seemingly pie-in-the-sky coaching ideas and make them reality using real strategy.
If you dream of being a full-time coach, too, I’m rooting for you! Keep dreaming, vision-boarding, keep your ideas alive. And then maybe, just maybe, you’ll get a sign from the universe on what your next step should be!
