Spassa General Group Alumni Homecoming 14th April 2023 at St. Paul Secondary School Aba Ukwu in Abia State
10th NASS Leadership: "We Made Mistake, Zoning 'll be Reviewed" - APC
As controversy intensifies over the micro-zoning of principal offices of the National Assembly, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has admitted error in the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC).
He made the confession a day after Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and others including seven Speakership candidates riled against the arrangement.
During a visit at the national secretariat to present a petition to the party’s leadership, yesterday, Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, who led some contestants for the office of Senate president, including former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Sani Musa, described the zoning arrangement as undemocratic, warning that the party was setting a stage for members to revolt at the floor of the chambers on June 13 when the National Assembly would be inaugurated and voting to elect officers conducted.
But the party chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, pleaded with the aspirants to hold their fire and allow the party leadership to undertake more consultations.
“We’re happy to receive you and hear you express your displeasure for what we have done. As chairman of the APC and members of the NWC, we take responsibility. As chairman, I take responsibility for what has gone on air. I take absolute responsibility for that. And in that spirit, I welcome you to this office on behalf of my colleagues.
“On Wednesday, we received members of the lower chamber who are also contesting for the Speakership in the lower chamber and we had similar pronouncements – words of disagreement from them. What we will not do today from what we have received from you is to start to open any discussion with you at this sitting as to how what you heard got to be what you heard.
“Yes, there were no sufficient or adequate consultations with you that are contested and
I Am Scared Nnamdi Kanu Might D!e In Detention — Ozekhome
Ozekhome expressed his concerns while speaking to judges at the Supreme court during the hearing of Kanu's case on Thursday, May 11.
The Senior lawyer told the apex court that Kanu is very sick and requires a surgical operation, hence should be released immediately. The lawyer asked the court to rule in favor of the transfer of Kanu from DSS custody to Kuje correctional center so that he can begin treatment.
“My Lords, Nnamdi Kanu is sick, he has been approved for surgery but they have refused to release him for treatment. We are pleading for him to be transferred from DSS custody to Kuje correctional centre so that he can begin treatment like others. He’s getting really sick, I’m scared he may die in the custody of DSS. Dead bodies are not prosecuted,” he told the court.
Reacting to Ozekhome’s plea, the apex court said God will keep the IPOB leader alive and that he will not die in detention. The court said even if it proceeds to hear the appeal, there is no space within its calendar to write and deliver the verdict within the 90-day deadline.
“Nnamdi Kanu will not die in detention. God will keep him alive and his blood won’t be in your hands,” the court said.

AbiaGuber2023: INEC Must Announce Obingwa Results as It is Without Review - PDP.
The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has been drawn to a press statement released by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information And Voter Education Committee of Independent National Electoral Commission ((INEC) Barrister Festus Okoye, in Abuja yesterday, which stated that the Obingwa Local Government Area office of the Commission in Abia State was attacked by thugs during the collation of results for the Governorship and State Assembly elections of 18th March 2023.
While we find such claims strange, we wish to set the records straight and state as follows:
1. That there was no recorded act of violence in Obingwa LGA of Abia State before, during and after the election of March 18, 2023.
2. That Party agents at Obingwa collation centre only ensured that INEC’s directive that results must be announced at units, collated at ward then local government levels and result sheets issued to agents be complied with.
3. We were shocked that INEC is attempting to bypass her own recommended process and even falsely released a statement to members of the public to achieve that.
4. Youths of Obingwa should rather be commended for insisting that INEC followed her own guideline as previously stated by Barr Festus Okoye and other national officials.
5. It is important to note that results of same election from Umuahia South LGA, which were taken to INEC headquarters for collation changed dramatically along the way in favour of one of the parties involved in the election.
We therefore implore INEC to do the right thing by not raising false alarm but to announce the results as collated in Obingwa.
Signed
