Happy Hour is a fitness class on zoom for anyone and everyone! And if you’re reading this thinking “yeah, but it’s not for me” it is ESPECIALLY for you! Hooray!
Welcome to Happy Hour! You may have been to Happy Hour before, or maybe you haven’t, so I’ll explain everything, so you know what to expect…
Happy Hour is a fitness class on zoom for anyone and everyone! So, how does it work? Firstly you won’t need anything but a chair for the classes. We always ease ourselves in with a warm up, then we hit up some intervals. Basically there will be four pairs of
exercises, and we’ll do each pair three times. You’ll be given a “sweet” and a “spicy” option. It’s your choice which option you take (and there will always be an option for everyone). Some days you may feel like “you’re lucky I even showed up this morning”, in which case, you might want to take it sweeter. Other days you may feel more like “hit me with everything you’ve got”, in which case, you might want it spicier. Some people always choose sweet, some people always choose spicy, others mix it up - we’re all different, you do you. We finish with a finale workout together, which is always the same - you choose the level you want to take it at, and hopefully you’ll be able to feel your strength grow the longer you’re doing it. Then we stretch it out and finish with a power pose, so we finish our workout feeling freakin amazing! The class runs safely under an hour, so that you can arrive in your day, and get on with all the other things you need to feeling like a superhero. So that’s Happy Hour itself. There’ll be two sessions every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7.30am. Brand new to Happy Hour is what I’m tentatively naming “Power (Half) Hour” (let me know what you think). You’ll log on to a zoom call, I’ll give everyone a pre-walk/run stretch, then you’ll have half an hour to go for your own walk or run - however far and fast you feel like going. After half an hour, we’ll log back on, stretch it out, strike our all-important power pose and I’ll tell you how awesome you are for getting up to do that.
“Power (Half) Hour” will be every Wednesday 7.30-8.30am. So that’s the shape of the week according to Happy Hour:
So now you know what you’re getting into, how does it work? Sign up is £25 for the month, and sign up is at the beginning of each month. (If you’re new to Happy Hour, you can try the first Tuesday of the month for free before you commit to the whole month.) You’ll get a zoom code to use for everything for that month, then all you need to do is log on when it’s time for a class. When does Happy Hour start? Tuesday 8th February. As February has already begun, is already shorter than your average month and month number one of new-style Happy Hour, sign up for February for only £10, and the class on 8th is free for everyone to try! Let me know if you have any questions or worries, or if you would like to discuss any medical conditions or accessibility needs before you get started.
