Back in the Baking Hot seat this weekend!

So many unpictured bakes...(!) but happy customers so that's all that matters :D

- 8" Split Cake! My first ever.
A Victoria Sponge for Twin Boys celebrating their birthday.

- 6" Redecorated Cake.
The customer brought me a cake and toppers to add to a store purchased Cake.
I dont normally do this, but it was a close friend in a time tight pickle.
Original icing scraped back. Redecorated to the child's Dream Cake specifications! 🏝

- 12 Chocolate Cupcakes to match....
- 8" Triple Layer Carrot Cake, Cream Cheese Buttercream & crunchy walnuts added in the centre layers.
Jungle Themed for a birthday party with added girly glitter.

- Wedding Samples (unpictured) for Bride & Groom to choose between Caramel Chocolate, Victoria Sponge, Lemon or Raspberry & White Choc... what will they choose? :D

- 20 Mixed Cupcakes for a Birthday BBQ (unpictured)

Dusty Pink & Sage Theme with the rustic feel of the Rippled Buttercream set in a beautiful venue that I'd not yet had the pleasure of visiting!

10" Carrot Cake with all the spices & Cream Cheese Buttercream.

Freshly baked and stacked yesterday.
Tiered and decorated this morning.
14 ish hours to get it 95% complete.
Delivered with just 25 mins to stack the top tier and decorate.

I'm in LOVE with the tones of the flowers.
The delicate subtle detail on the middle tier.
And the elegant topper that just finishes it all off.

Little Love's Bakes (Kelly) makes incredible small bake sweet treats and whenever she has Red Velvet Cookies, I'm there. She travels around Bristol with her bakes, doing pop ups and has made the leap to being a Full Time Self employed baker.

I also follow & massively appreciate the work of fellow cake Baker Sharon @ Madeira Magic.
She has supported me numerous times with equipment, cake toppers, questions and illness!
I had the pleasure of having her cake for my 30th Birthday 🥰 and as a donation to our Charity Mamas.

Last weekend I RETURNED to work 🥳🥳🥳🥳
It's felt like forever, but I was back!

This week, our oven stopped working 🤣
A new fan & motor and 2 hours of my hubby's time later, its revived!

- 8" Victoria Sponge Guinness Design Cake (HandPainted as the topper company let me down!) 🍺

- 10" Fondant Victoria Sponge SpiderMan Design. The customer had her own SpiderMan figure topper to add 🕸

- Engagement Cupcake!!!!!!! 💍🧁
The plan was to present the Cupcake at the restaurant to the intended, with the Proposer on one knee behind!!!!
The acrylic topper says, " Turn around."
Apparently all went to plan and the Happy couple are pictured below 😍
What an honour to be involved with this. Hopefully I'll see them soon for their Wedding Cake!!

Getting back to work 🥰

It's been an incredibly hard few months for myself and my family.
Hubby Knee op. Pneumonia... again(!) Kids had it too and still recovering.
Busy with lots of my other "Hats" too.

But it's time to refocus and re-energize.

I'm slowly taking orders again for birthday cakes.

10" Victoria Sponge in a BEAUTIFUL floral piped finish. I loved this finish!
8" Sprinkle Cake to accompany for a joint celebration that was delayed by covid!

18 Vanilla Dairy Free Cupcakes with fondant toppers. The Customer let me chose the colour and mixing a dark with a bright & white always looks awesome!

Oh and to finish, I got roped into decorating gingerbread men with my girls as "mummy's the expert". Once I showed then how to work a piping bag, they were OFF 🥰

Spent a whole week looking after my youngest, who had horrendous norovirus :(

Such a wonderful grand venue to display a cake at!

The Bride & Groom opted for Victoria Sponge & Lemon and Raspberry so I got creative and mixed the flavours between tiers...

6" Raspberry Sponge with Vanilla Buttercream and Lemon Curd Filling.
8" Victoria Sponge.
10" Lemon Sponge with a Central Raspberry Sponge, Lemon Buttercream and Raspberry Jam.

Just look again at how BEAUTIFUL the Sponge looked during stacking (and DEFINITELY NOT DRY SPONGE IN SIGHT!!!!!!!!🫢)

The Bride & Groom supplied the decor for this one.
With wooden topper, artificial flower heads and real foliage to compliment their colour scheme.

I hope this tasted as good as it smelled!

My feet are firmly up today!!

I really hope everyone enjoyed their bakes and the sentiment really shone through on some of these special cakes.

Its 4 minutes past 12 and I'm sat on my Kitchen floor...
eating crispy m&ms while I wait for another batch of buttercream to whip up....

This can only mean one thing!

Tonight, I was the very upset recipient of a nasty message from someone saying that someone else told them my cakes are dry and overpriced....

This person has never sampled my cakes, doesnt know my prices nor the value of everything I've worked very hard to build.

I'm hoping that others think very differently and do enjoy my cakes contrary to this message.

I bake with love, creativity, and respect for the person receiving their goods.

I'd really appreciate some feedback about any cakes you've purchased from me no matter how big or small, to reassure me that I'm good at the job I love doing and should continue 😔😭

So I came home from Saturdays incredible wedding, and jumped straight back into the kitchen for a 2 tier cake 😁

My customer also had an 8" cake for a party just a few days before and posted a wonderful status with adorable photos.

I'm so glad I could bake for this family and make a birthday boy happy!

Besides watching a cake idea come to life, seeing a couple cut the cake that you lovingly created is THE best part of my job.

Here's yesterday's lovely couple cutting their humongous ALL CAKE cake.

The compliments I have received from guests have meant so much also!!
