Adventures in aquascaping, planted tanks, dwarf shrimp, and nano aquariums.
Got this beautiful little guy a couple months back. The kids named him Bristlefrost. I'll try to get some better shots of him soon.

The top of my 4 gallon low tech vase. Red Root Floaters, terrestrial moss from my yard, grass, no clue what the little red plants on the moss are as they came it with the moss, and in the background is Ludwigia Super Red growing out of the water.

Had cut back the grass on top of the vase cause it was getting out of control. It's already starting to grow back though so I'm sure it'll be back to it's old self in a week or two.
Setting up the bowl as a shrimp tank soon to complete this stand
The 22 gallong finally got a trim this weekend too

My little 5 gallon Fluval Spec V is getting out of control as well. Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me this weekend 😅
Scarlet Badis has to be one of the most interesting and fun nano fish out there.

Thank you for 500 followers! Thought now was a good time to share a little about me. My name is Travis. I live in Western Washington in the US with my wife, and three young children.
I originally got into fish keeping about 4 years ago when my wife Erica suggested that we get a fishtank for the kids for Christmas. And me being the type to research things into the ground I quickly fell into reading all about fish, nano fish, planted tanks, and eventually aquascaping.
Our first tank was a small 5 gallon with a few nano fish, a snail, and some random plants I got in a variety pack off Amazon. The kids thought their tank was cool for a week or two in typical kid fashion, but within 3 months I had gotten a rimless 22 gallon long, specialty fish and shrimp from , rocks, driftwood, and tons of plants. I had become totally obsessed with aquascaping.
I now have 6 tanks running, and my wife often jokes that if she had known this was going to be the outcome she might have never suggested getting the kids fish 😆

Thank you all for following me along on this ever evolving journey of aquascaping!
Red Cherry Shrimp always look good in a planted tank
I just can't get over the variety of plants growing at the top of the 4 gallon vase. I will definitely be using wild moss from the yard again in future scapes
Red Racer Nerite Snail I got awhile back from I'd been wanting one of these for a long time, and they are just as pretty in person as they looked online. Only downside is mine likes to hide when the lights are on 😅

When I harvested this moss from my yard there was no sign of all the other plants/seeds in it, but I couldn't be happier with hor it's turned out now that all those hidden plants have grown in.
Celestial Pearl Danio are some of the most interesting nano fish for a planted tank. They love to explore and play in dense plants
