Rob Collins - New Blue Ontario Party Candidate for Bay of Quinte Riding

Vote New, Vote Blue!

With roots from a local small business family and more than 30 years as a firefighter and chief, I'm dedicated to bringing back common sense and accountability to Ontario politics.

02/06/2022

The campaign is now over and today's the big day for everyone to get out and exercise their democratic right to elect their representatives.

Thank you again to all who have shown their support to me as your Bay of Quinte New Blue Party of Ontario candidate. It's been a great pleasure in meeting so many new people and getting to know this great riding of ours even better!

The polls close at 9 pm, so in the event you haven't gotten out to vote yet, there's still time.

Remember, it's New Blue's goal to bring common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park and with your support today, we can make this happen together.

Vote New, Vote Blue!

02/06/2022

Final day of the campaign with the final push towards tomorrow's finish line vote. More than 800 brochures distributed by the team today while driving the back roads of our beautiful Bay of Quinte riding.

We have now mailbox dropped and/or canvassed almost 15,000 brochures throughout the riding from Long Point Road in the southeast of Prince Edward County to 9th Murray Road in the northwest of Quinte West and the many roads, streets and places in between.

I want to thank you all for your support, whether it be volunteering your time to canvass, putting up a sign on your lawn, and/or making a financial donation to the cause of bringing common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park.

No matter the outcome tomorrow, we have raised the level of awareness of our New Blue Party of Ontario and it's principles with which to move the province forward. As Canadian writer Nathaniel Branden once wrote, "The first step towards change is awareness. The second step is acceptance." We are now on the step of working towards acceptance of our ideas and values, and that is a major step in the right direction.

So remember to vote tomorrow and give power to your voice; remember to vote for the party that will stand for you; remember to vote New Blue!

01/06/2022

With just one day of campaigning to go, I figured it would be a good time to repost the New Blueprint, our party's platform to move Ontario forward.

Today, our team canvassed almost 900 households with many signaling interest to vote for us on this Thursday's election day. Some even still requested that signs be put up on their lawns!

Unfortunately, we also met some who had voted early and did not know about our platform until today. Once heard, they regretted that they didn't vote for us!

Time is of the essence and tomorrow is the last day to go full tilt until we catch the finish line. No matter the outcome, we are not going down without having done our best to bring common sense, responsibility and accountability to Ontario politics.

If there's one certainty in politics, it's that nothing is certain and that anything can happen. Let's see what Thursday brings!

Remember, if you haven't voted for us yet, please get out and vote on Thursday. Every vote counts and now's the time to send a message to the legacy parties that you aren't going to stand for "business as usual" anymore.

Vote New, Vote Blue!

As much as I agree with Conrad Black’s quote, I would take it one step further, namely a vote for the New Blue is a vote for a new start to Ontario politics. It’s a breath of fresh air to bringing common sense, responsibility, and accountability to the Ontario political landscape.

On the other hand, a vote for the legacy parties is nothing more than a vote for the status quo. In fact, it’s not even that, it’s a vote of regression, which will take us back years in terms of higher debt, higher taxes, higher energy, and higher food costs.

The time of saying that there’s no alternative is over, for the alternative is now here, and that’s the New Blue Party of Ontario. It’s time to have your voice heard and a vote for New Blue will do just that.

Our Bay of Quinte team during the last few days has not let up at all. Yesterday some 1,000 houses were canvassed, while almost another 1,000 were canvassed today. More and more people are telling us that they’ve already voted New Blue or will be voting New Blue on June 2nd. Lawn signs are still being requested and with two days left to go, we are in the final stretch of the race.

Remember, if you haven’t already, it’s time for the grassroots to take our province back, so get out and vote on June 2nd. It’s time to finally have the voices of hard-working Ontarians heard again!

Vote New, Vote Blue!

Conrad Black: Doug Ford's leftward shift has created a vacuum for New Blue to fill 29/05/2022

This article by Conrad Black appeared in today’s National Post and by all accounts he is onto something.

We know from our own campaign here in the Bay of Quinte riding that there is a deeply embedded frustration with ALL the legacy political parties. In talking with so many working-class and middle-class Ontarians over the last few weeks, it’s clear that there is something amiss in the Ontario political landscape.

Today our team dropped and canvassed some 1,000 brochures and it was amazing to hear how many of the people we spoke with had already voted for the New Blue here in Bay of Quinte! Upon seeing us at their door, many still wanted to have signs erected on their properties! And those who heard of us for the first time and learned about our platform, they were glad to hear that there was finally a viable option to vote for!

It's a sad situation when so many Ontarians have given up on their province’s politics and don’t want to vote anymore. It’s with this in mind that we continue to toil in our campaign with the goal of bringing common sense, responsibility, and accountability to Queen’s Park. We owe this to the working-class and middle-class voters who make this economy work, and without whom, our economy would grind to a halt.

It is they who had to suffer the most under the draconian Covid measures over the last years, and it is they who now must pay the price for skyrocketing fuel costs and rapidly increasing food prices. And yet, none of the legacy parties really seem to be addressing these problems. Instead, it’s the same-old, same-old: more spending, spending, and spending with more debt, debt, and debt. This while all the structural problems remain the same, whether it be a broken-down health care system with a bloated bureaucracy or a flawed hydro system with the highest rates in North America!

It is time for real change and not the phony brand promised by the legacy parties; it is time to vote for grassroots Ontarians who are striving to work for fellow grassroots Ontarians.

On June 2nd, vote for that real change and vote New Blue!

Conrad Black: Doug Ford's leftward shift has created a vacuum for New Blue to fill The Ontario election campaign, which will culminate with voting day on June 2, has not been obviously remarkable. Even the profusion of election signs around Toronto is much less extensive than it usually is in provincial or federal elections. I believe that the reason for this is that it is a conte...

With Thor out on the campaign trail today. Nothing like a little dogged determination to carry the message of common sense, responsibility, and accountability for Queen's Park to the constituents of the Bay of Quinte riding!

With every mailbox drop, every door knock and every sign put up, the cause of our grassroots movement becomes stronger and more aware to those that have yet to hear of us. The finish line is in sight and we won't let up until we cross it on election day on June 2nd!

If you'd like to support us in this fight to save the province, please go to www.newblueontario.com and click on the Support tab. Any support, whether it's a lawn sign, a few hours to help distribute brochures or a tax-deductible donation, is welcome.

Unlike the legacy political parties, our campaign is completely self-financed and doesn't receive a penny of taxpayer money, which we DON'T want. A New Blue government would abolish such funding, something Doug Ford promised to do, but then reneged on and actually increased it!

It's time for real change: Vote New, Vote Blue!

25/05/2022

The team was out in Frankford canvassing today and came across a senior gentleman, who had heard of the New Blue Party of Ontario, but didn't know too much about it. Immediately upon learning more, he immediately agreed to have a NON-taxpayer funded sign put up on his front lawn!

Great to see Ontarians out there who still care about our beautiful province and want to bring common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park. We need it now more than ever!

The campaign momentum continues and there's no letting up until the finish line is crossed on election day on June 2nd!

For a lawn sign like the caring gentleman above received, please go to: https://www.newblueontario.com/lawn-sign-request and we'll happily deliver and install with a smile on your front lawn!

During the past few days our nimble team of volunteers has driven down many a back country road to deliver brochures to literally thousands of residents of our beautiful Bay of Quinte riding.

This shot was taken this afternoon while team members dropped hundreds of brochures into rural mailboxes in The County.

We don't have the taxpayer funding that the legacy parties have (and we don't want it, as campaigns should be funded by individuals that support their particular party of choice and NOT by taxpayers - something Doug Ford promised to abolish, but then did the opposite and increased the funding), but we have the gusto, stamina and passion to fight a good fight in this election campaign.

The battle continues as we now head into the latter half of the campaign, so if you're sincere about wanting to bring about real change to provincial politics, then now is the time to take action! Whether it be requesting a lawn sign, volunteering for a couple of hours to help distribute brochures, or making a donation to our shoe-string budget, anything is greatly appreciated.

We are a grass roots group of working class and middle class Ontarians looking to bring common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park. Won't you join us in this challenge to win our province back?

Go to our website at www.newblueontario.com and click on the Support tab to find out the best way for you to support our cause.

Happy Queen Victoria Day everyone!

In my closing remarks at Thursday night's debate hosted by the Belleville Chamber of Commerce at the Empire Theater, I reiterate the importance of government fiscal responsibility as well the role of government protecting are freedoms and not infringing upon them.

Please give it a listen and if you agree, please help us bring this message to Queen's Park by voting for me on election day this June 2nd! It's your chance to sincerely bring positive change to our government.

While attending a charity fundraiser near Consecon in Prince Edward County today, I had the opportunity to speak with Bev Woods , Executive Director of A Gift From the Heart, a charity devoted to providing free dental care to people in need.

It's exactly charities like this that could benefit from a reallocation of funds from too many administrators within our healthcare system to providing funds to the people that actually perform the healthcare.

The New Blue Party of Ontario is dedicated to overhauling our healthcare system by stopping the waste and directing the money towards nurses, doctors and caregivers, who toil day in, day out for us.

Let's get back to common sense, responsibility and accountability in our healthcare system!

Vote New, Vote Blue this June 2nd!

21/05/2022

At last night's Empire Theatre Debate in downtown Belleville, the moderator asked me a question about the Canadian healthcare system.

We all know that the Canadian healthcare system is challenged, and that's putting it mildly. Give this a listen and you might be surprised to recognize that a healthcare system isn't necessarily made better by throwing more money at it, but rather by reallocating the money already in the system, particularly by reducing the amount of bureaucrats and increasing the amount of doctors and nurses.

So long as this isn't changed, the healthcare system will remain in the dilemma that it is and Ontarians will continue to suffer under the worst service to be found in any modern developed country.

It's time to revamp the healthcare system as the current one is no longer sustainable and it no longer makes sense to continue to throw good money after bad money, so long as it's not restructured. A New Blue government would make this a top priority.

My opening statement from tonight's debate at the Empire Theater in downtown Belleville.

We are the only major party advocating for fiscal restraint while all the legacy parties continue to promote a spend, spend and spend agenda.

With an Ontario debt of almost $450 billion, the current path is not sustainable and will lead the province to the brink of a financial freefall if something is not done to curtail this irresponsible behavior.

With your vote for us this election, we can stop this and bring back common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park. Ontarians deserve nothing less!

Another strong day of campaigning in Belleville's west end and doing mail drops in The County.

Thank you to all those today who, immediately upon hearing of the New Blue Ontario Party, had us install NON-taxpayer funded signs on your lawns. Awareness is key and your support goes a long way in helping us create that awareness.

With each sign erected, we come that much closer to putting out the fires created by ALL the tax dollar funded parties at Queen's Park. We are a grass roots party bent on bringing back common sense, responsibility and accountability to Queen's Park!

Born into a small-business family, and with more than 30 years as a firefighter and chief, it's time to bring that rescue experience to bear. The team even came across a fire truck in The County today to help get us there!

Won't you join us on this rescue mission? Won't you join us in rescuing Ontario?

School and mascot naming policy reviewed 10/05/2022

After reading this, one has to ask where this will all end? One of New Blue's key election points is to reform education by reducing administrative costs, introducing alternative schooling tax-credits, and stopping "woke" activism with the removal of critical race theory and gender identity theory from our schools. It appears that the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board could use some new trustees being elected this fall.
