Anneliese's Cookies

So, I haven't posted much this week because, well, you know…the outcome of the election has me in a bit of a funk. I could list all of the reasons, talking points & facts for my disgust, but we all know them by now. And if you don't, you’re either in denial or have been living under a rock these past 8 years.

I don't usually make my personal views public on my business page, but these are not normal times. If you feel the urge to unfollow me, please proceed as quickly as possible. I’m a small business owner, but first & foremost I am an empathetic human being who cares about my fellow human beings, regardless of nationality, orientation, income, demography, education, or religion. I also care about the planet & our environment, treating all people with the dignity they deserve, personal freedom, equity, distancing myself from corruption, and civil liberties for everyone, especially the underprivileged. If this doesn't resonate with you, please stay away from me. Selling cookies is not nearly as vital as not selling my soul & self-respect.

I’m quenching my thirst using this oh so appropriate glass made by ...(she's awesome, so give her a follow). In the meantime, though, these cookies aren't going to bake themselves, so I need to get to work now. (My husband saw this photo & said I look mad. Um, where’s the lie? I AM mad & I couldn't care less how unflattering I appear.)

Anneliese's Cookies will be at the Handmade Market Chicago taking place at Empty Bottle this Saturday, November 9th from noon-4pm. Stop by 1035 N. Western Avenue in Chicago. Thirty local makers & crafters will be there & we’d love to see you!

Who likes pine nuts??? These tiny nuts are also called piñón, pinoli, or pignoli, and they are the edible seeds of pines. Pine nuts are traditionally used to make pesto, which basically consists of crushed garlic, coarse salt, basil leaves, olive oil, & parmesan cheese. Used in either a sweet or savory recipe, pine nuts are delicate & delicious and taste wonderful on Anneliese’s Cookies!

Anneliese’s Cookies & lots of local small businesses are here at the 4th Annual Holiday Shopping Event & Food Drive at the Mount Prospect Moose Lodge. Non-perishable items can be donated for the Food Drive to receive an entry in the Door Prize Drawing. There's also a cash bar & food available for purchase. We’ll be here until 3 pm today & would love to see you, so come say hello: 601 N. Main Street in Mount Prospect!
