Thank you so much to Friends of Bierton School for holding such a brill summer fair today! β€
Helloo! βοΈπ
I'll be back to posting regularly soon! Its been such a super busy week for lots of reasons including prep for the fair I'm holding a stall at this weekend! Come along to Bierton Summer Fair if you're local! There'll be lots if stalls, activities, food, drink and by the look of the forecast... sunshine!
In the meantime... here's 7 seconds of calm for your feed π
Happy Friday!
It's wedding season ππ₯ so here's a little midweek throwback to a woodslice I painted for 2 friends who tied the knot last year π₯° I just love the contrast of the black against the orange!
Into the last week of May we go (how did that happen?!) π»πΈπ·
This week I'll be spending most evenings painting and finishing off wood slices ahead of a fete I'll be holding a stall at on 11th June!π¨π
I always listen to music while I'm painting so I want to hear your song suggestions! Comment with your fave song and ill add it to my playlist π΅π€©π
β€π Fathers Day πβ€
Fathers day is next month! So I've been working on some magnets for the special Dads and Daddies our lives π

Most importantly... hope you have a lovely Wednesday ππ
ππ·πΈ Be Kind To Yourself πΈπ· π
I'm working on a series of positivity wood slices at the moment and here's one of my latest... a little reminder this morning to bat away thoughts of self doubt, give yourself time to rest and >>be kind to yourself
It's a journey... π¨πβ
I've been on a real journey in my mind over the last week about what direction to take my art in. I'm so excited to have a clearer idea now of where I'm heading (or at least where I hope I'm heading!).
I've got an upcoming stallholder event that I'm in the process of building up painted wood slice stock for! However following this I'm excited to start work on a series of larger art pieces πβ€ and I can't wait to share more with you along the way!
Here's a little behind the scenes of a recent floral woodslice I painted β€
Happy Hump Day xx
Sail Away With Me πβ
β΅
Don't you just love a dramatic sky? β
π
Last year I worked on this pastel cloud piece I titled "Sail Away" that now hangs above my husbands desk so he can take a moment in his day to sail off into the sunset when work gets busy! β€
I loved working with the soft pastels to build up each layer of the cloud. I'm really wanting to try similar work out with my paints to see how it comes out... watch this space π
Anyway hope you've had a super Monday π
Wooooo the Amy Whichelow Art Etsy shop has now reopened!

Included in the restock will be the return of these end of term Thank You teacher gifts that were super popular last year π now with wooden bookmarksπ
I better get back to my painting!
Have a lovely day and weekend everyone π x
I love painting sunsets π almost as much as I love watching them.
Here's a little midweek throwback at some of the sunsets I painted last year β€
Which is your fave? 1, 2, 3 or 4? π
Whether you feel it or not this morning, you are amazing π
β This life business can be flippin hard and we can so easily allow self doubt and self criticism to take hold. I'm inviting you to join me in a challenge today: to silence those negative thoughts and remind yourself throughout the day that you're amazing, and you are loved for being exactly who you are β€
Good morning π
Have you had a sunny week? Is anyone else celebrating the end of the Easter hols this weekend and the return of routine next week?! I'm definitely craving routine now...
I got my soft pastels out last week and have been enjoying playing around with them again. I like to have a look back at previous work I did for a bit of inspiration and here's "Sail Away" I did back in summer last year. I just love the warm pink and orange tones π
Have a happy Friday xx
How gorgeous are the rings on this wood slice?! They made the perfect background for this little chap perched on his branch.
Here's a recent double sided, personalised commission I did for a special birthday celebration β€
The perfect keepsake π
If you have a special occasion or birthday coming up for a loved one and would like more info about these personalised woodslices, pop me a message. Priced from Β£15 x
Oh heeey! How have you been?! I'm super pleased to be back on here and to have my art stuff out again!
I'll be honest, I really needed the break when I packed my art bits up in December. I'd been burning the candle at both ends for a little too long and it was definitely good to take a little time away from late nights painting (even if it was replaced with late nights watching Bridgerton π).
But!! I'm feeling super refreshed and excited to be back at my art table (aka the living room table I've stolen once again)!
And how gorgeous has the sunshine been these past few days?
I'm definitely feeling inspired to work on some sunny / floral pieces!
Hope you are having a lovely Tuesday x
Hellooo! Uhh I'm sorry to have been so quiet. Its been such a busy couple of weeks, topped off with a visitor for Christmas.... Covid π
Yep, sadly its Christmas in isolation for us but thankfully symptoms have been relatively mild. (EDIT: My PCR came back negative much to my surprise so looks like the booster has done its job. New isolation rule changes mean we will be able to enjoy a nice family walk and visit to the Christmas lights on Christmas eve as Ashley's isolation will end earlier now! Hurrah!!!!! What a roller coaster π€£)
I wanted to share with you my decision to take an extended break from Amy Whichelow Art.
Life with a 4 and 2 year old is well, chaotic to say the least π€£, so I've made the decision to take some time away from late nights painting to focus on other things for a little while.
I absolutely love the business I've built up over the last year and the people that have made it possible. That's you by the way! Your support has meant the WORLD. Thank you to everyone of you who has ordered, encouraged, liked, commented, shared. It's been so amazing.
I hope to be back "online" Springtime next year and in the meantime want to wish you all a really wonderful Christmas and a healthy new year.
Lots of love # # #
Happy St Nicholas Day! And day 6 of the Christmas countdown!
Fact for you... Traditionally, in parts of Europe, children leave shoes out on St Nicholas day for him to put small gifts inside!
When I was little we used to put our letters to Father Christmas in our shoes on our doorstep and the next day we would wake to find the letters gone and shoes full of sweets!! Such magic memories!
I'm going to be showing you more of these painted round canvases later this week π but for now, Happy St Nic day! Will you be leaving shoes out?

Stargazing stags π
Which is your fave, blue or pink?
Christmas Countdown DAY 3! I know I say it every year but I cannot believe we are into December already. Is anyone else wondering where the year has gone?!
The year may have gone by quickly but I can't believe the journey I've come on with my art over the last 12 months! I started Amy Whichelow Art up back in November 2020 with a few wood slices and a whole load of nerves!! To end November 2021 with my first art exhibition felt fantastic!! I've met some wonderful people over the year, both fellow artists/makers and lovely customers. Thank you so much to everyone for your support and encouragement, I couldn't have done any of it without you ππ₯°
Here's a few snaps from the exhibition π I couldn't have hoped for a better group of people to be doing with! Such talented and lovely people!
Happy Friday everyone β€β€β€
Christmas Countdown DAY 2! Any other adults out there who still love a chocolate advent calendar?! ππ€©
Thought I'd do a Thursday throwback today to this little chap who I painted earlier this year as a commission for a friend to give a friend!
I wouldn't mind wrapping up warm and standing where he is right now to admire that view!
The tree is up! π₯°π€©π
