I’M FEATURED IN A MAGAZINE?!?!

When I made my vision board for 2022, I put that I wanted to be feature in a magazine on my board.

Earlier in the year,
my alma mater reached out to me because they wanted to feature me in their Spring magazine! I had a blast sharing how much has changed for me since I graduated and how the pandemic has opened up a new career for me.

If you didn’t know, I have a degree in biology and I wanted to be a veterinarian but got Lyme disease (tick-born illness) which offset me and my health.

I was interested in having my own business, so when the pandemic hit, I started to help pet parents with keeping their pups entertained! I wanted it to be easier and save pet parent’s time with finding healthy treats and great toys.

Shortly after I also became a travel blogger/content creator and gained 100K followers on TikTok by showcasing travel deals and sharing my travel experiences as well as my top travel tips/hacks!

I gained more and more experience with social media/ social media marketing along with helping and relating to people so I decided started a career in social media marketing and now work full time at a creative agency!

The pandemic may have been challenging but I am glad that I was able to learn a lot from it from a personal and business perspective!

My education at helped shaped and changed my perspective of the world. The kindness I was shown during my time there represented the great leadership of President Dr. Beebe in a positive light!

Thank you for the opportunity to share my story 🤍 and I hope this inspires someone and showcase it’s okay to change careers!

LYME DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH 🦠( SAVE AND SHARE FOR LATER)

Did you know that most doctors misdiagnose Lyme disease ?

Lyme disease awareness is important now more than ever with the tick population rapidly increasing due to climate change.

In 2017, I had a wide range of symptoms of fatigue, muscle stiffness, digestive issues,body aches, body pain, heart palpitations, and brain fog.

I went to the doctors and had to wear a heart monitor for a month and had doctors diagnose me with anxiety, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Well after getting a lyme test the doctor told me I had antibodies and needed to take an antibiotic for a month. I got a little better but never felt like my normal self.

I never saw a tick on myself but had been working in vet offices throughout that year.

On the outside I always looked okay but on the inside my body felt like it was trying to rip me apart.

Having an invisible illness results in lots of cancelled plans, not being able to do rigorous activities, conserving energy for regular tasks like cooking or bathing, and the list goes on.

There are 1,000s of people who have Lyme disease but who are still searching for answers after misdiagnosis and have come to complete dead ends with thousands of dollars in medical debt.

As the vaccines roll out, that means some countries will begin to open up to vaccinated travelers!

Although the CDC advises people to still not travel internationally, there are still come countries that are allowing visitors.

Depending on the country you visit, you will be required to submit a negative COVID test. Some countries will exempt you from having to take a COVID test and quarantine if you are vaccinated.

Here are some countries that are accepting vaccinated travelers:

▫️Thailand
▫️Croatia
▫️Ecuador

Once the "vaccine passport" rolls out, more countries will possibly reopen! Reminder that the vaccine is not 100% effective and safety precautions like wearing masks, social distancing, and getting tested should still take place!

In the midst of the pandemic travel is looking much different these days! If you are planning to visit Jamaica, here are some things that you should know!!

🌴You must get a COVID test 72 hours prior to your flight leaving and prior to your return flight
🌴A Jamaica travel authorization form is required for entry into the country, failure to fill it out with result in not being able to board your flight.
🌴Jamaica is on a serious curfew which sometimes suddenly changes. Currently lock down is Monday- Friday starts at 8pm to 5 am. On Saturday lockdown starts at 4 pm-5 am and on Sundays it is from 12 pm- 5 am. Curfew does not apply when you are on a resort.
🌴 If you are staying at an resort, you are only allowed to stay in the tourist corridor and do the tourist activities that are by certified companies.
🌴If you stay in an airbnb, you may be required to quarantine for 14 days at your airbnb location.
🌴Upon arrival you may be subjected to another COVID test and will have to remain in your room until the tests results come back.
🌴There are locations to get a COVID tests, and most results provide them for your return back to your country. The airport also provides COVId tests. Costs may vary, but at most resorts they are free.
🌴A lot of businesses may be closed due to the pandemic,including public beaches.

When you are traveling you never know how your photo will come out! It can actually be quite funny to look back on😂. Sometimes when traveling you only have a limited of time to get your shot!

Here are some photo tips to get that perfect shot:
🌴Check the weather the day before and the morning of!
🌴Go early so there are less people in your photos
🌴Record yourself and screenshot the poses you want in your video that look good!
🌴Use continuous burst for action shots
🌴For shots with tall building, turn your phone horizontal and use the panorama setting!
