It's STRING BREAK! Take some time over the break to write something new, uncanny, playful, or beautiful about modern technology. Short stories, poems, or essays. Art and photography is also welcome.

Thank you to those who've already submitted!

Submissions are open at [email protected]

String is all about new writing about technology. Think less 'poems about phones'; more fiction and art that says something new about computing, about modern culture, future culture, and where things are headed.

Submissions open: [email protected]

# SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!!! #
Submissions close on the 29th of April, so there's plenty of time to write over the break.

Send us your prose, poetry, and art submissions!

Think narratives that loop like algorithms, poems that could have been written by AI, and language that struggles to make its way through the recommendation engine. We want science-fiction, original narrators, characters lost in doom-scrolls and superhero movies, memories lost to corrupted hard drives, and anything else you can come up with. We want the quirks of modern culture: celebrities, bizarre game-shows, comment wars, the James Webb Telescope, and printer software.

Prose and fiction should be under 2000 words, and poetry should fit on two A4 pages. Images should look good on an A5 piece of paper. Send your work to [email protected]
