3 Cups of Kopi a non-profit community playback theatre group based in Singapore.
We believe that everyone has a story, and we train in order to provide a physical or online space for thoughts and feelings to be shared, seen, and heard. Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theatre where audience members share stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot. The form is developed in 1975 by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas, and others in the original Playback Theat

Dear fans/friends of 3 Cups,
How have you been? It’s been awhile since we last met. This year, 3 Cups members are focusing on other areas of life and work, although we had a very meaningful time with seniors from St Luke’s Eldercare. They were spontaneous when we tried music, movement and acting with them. The playback theatre encounters were rich, spontaneous and memorable. We heard stories about growing up in kampungs, about the war efforts, and about loving kinship and friendship.
If you have time and interest on 14 Oct 2023, we’d love for you to join us at our public performance. Ghaz and Neng are heading to South Africa for a performance, and excited to collaborate with Shangbin+Daisy from .playback and MJ from .playback

It has been 4 weeks of working with the elderly at St Luke’s. It’s such a blessing to have the privilege of listening to their stories of thier younger days. They really have so much to offer. ❤️

WHAT WILL BE DOING IN LA KOPI PLAYBACK THEATRE CRASH COURSE?
LA KOPI is a Playback Theatre Crash Course for Playback enthusiasts, beginners and practitioners, conducted by 3 Cups of Kopi’s Playback Theatre Ensemble.
A series of 12 sessions where you learn to identify the ingredients (movement, music, poetry, crafts etc), using specific methodologies (rituals and forms) to brew (artistry) the given stories with your fellow baristas (social interaction) through Playback!
