17 days to go, and we’re looking at a record breaking year in terms of participants! 💫 We still have some spots left, so make sure you grab them while you can.

See you there? 👀

For the 2024 edition of Nøsen Hundreds we are excited to welcome a couple flying over from Florida, USA.
This is part 2/2: Christian Stewart

Highlights
I ran an ultra distance solo across the Mexico/United States border (my poetic way of telling Trump to go f**k himself).

I tagged the top of Mt. Damavand, north east of Tehran, Iran (interesting that my gps devices were actively jammed).

Ran 5 miles to the start of West Highland Way; then finished the race 2018 West Highland Way.

I started running ultras in 2009 and have gotten to run in some very beautiful places. It is my favorite way to see the world. In the past I have also organized a 50 mile trail race in Florida for about 7 years.

I chose to participate in Nøsen Hundreds after looking at ultras in Iceland, but nothing I saw knocked my socks off. They are probably great races but the vibe was off for me. I then started looking at other locations near the Artic Circle that had ultras this summer. I stumbled upon Nøsen Hundreds and everything I was reading about the race was right up my alley; beautiful location, lots of Norwegian participants (local support is always a great sign), smaller in size, the appearance of excellent logistics (meaningful and knowledgeable effort put into the route tab on the website). I couldn’t be more exited to participate with Addie. It will be the highlight of my year.

I began road marathons and ultramarathons over a decade ago. In my 40s I’ve taken a much more adventurous approach and branched out to trails and mountains. It’s been a humbling experience to say the least for this roadie, but an incredibly beautiful way to experience the world. I will be very much challenging Mathilde for slowest at this race (I read her bio🤣).

Recently tagging some peaks for fun that I had no business tagging but I did it!!!

The last 10 years I have been doing many different endurance challenges in running, triathlon, cross country skiing and adventure racing. But running has always been my favorite! I fell in love with trail and mountain running 2019. That made me move up to the mountains in Åre, Sweden. Since the end of 2022 I’ve been going all in for trail running.

My first big goal this season will be Nøsen 50K. A race I heard really good things about. And I love running in Norway!

After taking up running 5 years ago Petter has run both further and faster every year since! In 2023 he completed four Ultra distance races and over 3800 km in total!
But more important than his merits is his captivating character and the fact that he’s always smiling when he’s running!  We look forward to seeing you at Nøsen this year Peik!

I’ve been racing a lot individual but also a lot with my twin sister Lina in Duo Races, and several of those stands high, but completing PTL last summer (300 km around Mont Blanc during UTMB week) was a big dream that I’m very proud over.

My personal favorite individual is 9th place on Stranda Fjord Trail race when it was in the Golden trail series.

Another fav is when me and my team of 3 others won Expedition Oregon, a nonstop adventure race in US. We were out 4 days and nights.

I’m 30 years old, living in Åre, when I’m not travelling on races or training camps. I have a van that I use summertime and love the van life. I’m passionate about the outdoors and adventures and do mountain running, cycling, ski mountaineering, xc skiing et cetera. I also like to write and create good food☺️

Norway is my fav country and I enjoy so much competing there. I haven’t yet been exploring the surroundings where Nøsen Hundred is, and for me to do a race on a new place is one of the best ways to explore it.

I’m from Voss, a perfect playground for mountain/trail running in the summer and cross country «fjellski» skiing in the winter. What I enjoy the most, is long sunny days in the mountains on skis or with running shoes. It gives me a lot of energy, joy and happiness. Preferably I race the less fast and more technical longer races with rugged terrain, steep uphills and fast downhills.

I really look forward to participate in this race. The course is beautiful, varied and is up high in the mountains. It will be the perfect last long run and tune up race for next years Hardangerjøkulen Ultra.

I am a Swedish/American runner living in Oslo. I enjoy training in the forest or mountains but spend a majority of time run-commuting and training with SK Vidar. I wanted to run Nøsen Hundreds after hearing that it is a fun race with great atmosphere, also being a part of the Golden Trail Nordics series means that there will be a competitive race. I am looking forward to getting the chance to explore some now trails around Valdres!

I take pride in being one of the probably slowest ultra runners of all time.

I really enjoy testing new races and simultaneously exploring the nature that comes with running ultras. Valdres and the surrounding area is one of my absolute favorite locations all year round and I’m really looking forward to a super long run in cool terrain!

Well, I’ve DNFed both years I’ve run Nøsen so it might not be so inspiring to others😆 But to me that’s definitely a reason to sign up again, plus I really like the area with all the smooth trails and beautiful mountains. Coming from Rogaland I’m more used to very steep and crooked trails.

Other than that I’m a carpenter who loves being active outdoors all year round — cross-country and telemark skiing in the winter, running in the mountains in the summer and fall, and let’s not forget deer hunting in the fall.

Sports-wise I’ve participated in quite a few ultras and shorter trail races. I’m nowhere near top 10 though unless the amount of runners is significantly low…

I spend a lot of my time off out in nature and I obviously love running on trails. I use races and race preparations to explore new areas.
I signed up for Nøsen because it seems to be a race with nice trails and a great atmosphere, in a beautiful area where I’ve never been before. It’s also one of few of its kind (100K in the mountains), and that has to be experienced :)

I am a runner who enjoys a broad spectrum of distances and terrain, both for training and competitions. I race everything from steep hillsprints to flat asphalt courses, but my big passion lies in ultra trail runs with challenging terrain and a lot of elevation.
Looking very much forward to participating in Nøsen Hundres next year, this year’s race was a memorable experience!
For me this race is the ultimate combination of spending a weekend at a beautiful remote location with like-minded people, as well as racing a challenging and varied course that «has it all».
The after-run party is worth a trip on its own😊

Don’t walk, run* to sign up for Nøsen Hundreds 2024!

Registrations open today for the 20K, 50K and 100K.

*But don’t run too fast because a couple of years ago we had a guy who really went for it in the opening sprint, and he spent most of his race on the struggle bus after that.
We don’t necessarily recommend that, but it does make a good story. (And he did win the sprint!)

In one week from now it’s:

• November🍁
• 54 days until Christmas🎄
• 7 months and 16 days until Nøsen Hundreds⛰️

Also, one week from now, we open the registration for Nøsen Hundreds 2024.
Stay tuned!

And now, a fun fact from the Nøsen area:

Several rare plants grow in the shale under the mountain Gilafjellet and along Helin, among them an ancient subspecies of poppy called urvalmue🌼

This is one of only two places where this plant grows, and that’s one of the reasons why the area is protected as a botanical national park.

We don’t recommend you to go looking for it on race day though. There are plenty of other things to do that day — like running!

Why Nøsen out of all the great trail races out there?

Well, we’ve got plenty of reasons but the biggest one might just be the sense of community and companionship at the finish line🤝🏼

Maybe you won’t all get a hug as you cross the finish line, but we take great pride in making sure you get the second best — a crowd.
