I've been getting lots of inquiries about flower availability and sadly due to a cold June and very wet July my summer annuals are just not putting out the blooms as they should be at this point in the season. π
Hopefully soon I'll have tons of flowers to share with you all at the flower stand, but until then I'll be posting available bouquets up on here when I have them.
Thank you. π
This little guy loves to help his Mama out in the cutting garden.

There may be a foot of fresh snow outside, but all I'm thinking about is this. πβοΈ
S U C C E S S I O N S O W I N G
One of the big lessons I learned as a first year grower was just how necessary it is to succession sow certain crops if I want to have continuous blooms all season.
Other than sunflowers, I didn't succession sow any of my other flower varieties. I honestly thought that with such a short growing season anyway, it just wasn't necessary. π€·πΌββοΈ
But some plants, like this Orlaya, fizzled out long before the season was over. ππΌπ©
This year as I figure out my seed starting schedule I'm making sure I include succession plantings, so that I will have blooms like these for your bouquets all season long! π
Dried bunny tails & pressed flowers actually made for the perfect fall decor this year.
I plan to grow and dry a lot more flowers next season as I hope to offer dried flower bouquets next fall. But I am curious, would you use dried flowers this way in your home? Or would you prefer them in a different form, like wreaths or framed? Or do you just say no to dried flowers period?
Genuinely curious here, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Either way, it's time to say goodbye to bunny tails for now and hellooo to evergreens. ππΌπ²π
Crafted this wreath today from cress I grew from seed, harvested, and dried this summer. Truly made with love. π₯°
** Currently closed for orders. I will update when I'm caught up and ready to accept more. Thank you all! **

Being out in the garden in the mornings and walking between the flower rows (that are as tall as me now), and being just swallowed up in blooms, buzzing bees & butterflies... Pure. Magic. β¨οΈπΌ
Just here pressing & drying flowers, saving seed, and practicing my arranging skills for next year. π
Not really ready to say goodbye to the blooms just yet, but I have a lot of work to do this fall to get my beds all ready for winter and I'm ready to get to work.
The winner of the giveaway for two bouquets from Sarah & I is Kelsey King! π₯³
Thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to Kelsey!
I'll be in contact with you to arrange a time for pick up. ππ
Tarnished plant bugs have taken over my zinnias and dahlias. π
These are my focal flowers and without them I was forced to cut my season short.
Being a first year grower I quickly discovered soo many bugs that I had no idea were so harmful to my plants. This winter I'll definitely be researching options for dealing with these pests that won't harm the beneficial insects in my garden. ππ€π»
Sarah and I are beyond thankful for all the support we recieved this season, so as a thank you we've teamed up for a giveaway!
We're giving away two bouquets, one for you and one for a friend. ππ
Entering is easy, just like this post, follow Blue Shed Blooms and tag the person you'd like to share your flowers with!
