When I first started my business, I made a ton of mistakes… one was in how I co-mingled funds. I thought I couldn't qualify for a business account, so I would keep this notebook with business earnings and expensive… simply because I didn't know what I didn't know. As a business owner, you now have more resources than my little notebook…especially when it comes to separating your money. If you're looking for a place to keep your money, is a great way to separate your business funds. It is super easy to apply, has free checking, and no minimum balance or ATM fees. You can also link apps like Shopify, Stripe, etc., so your money is safely transferred from wherever you earn. If you need a debit card, it has that too!!!!

I hope to keep sharing more resources that I wish I had. If you need any other resources, let me know in the comments. Head to my stories to apply now!

It’s been super easy to incorporate Desire Gummies into my daily ritual. I like to take my supplements in the mornings, depending on my day (I will either take them as soon as I wake up or right when I start my morning routine). They contain L-theanine which promotes relaxation, Ashwagandha to manage stress and improve my mood, as well as Shatavari which helps me balance hormones, stress, and burnout.

One of my favorite things about these gummies is that I can take them with a clear conscience – they are vegan, non-GMO, Allergan free, and without artificial colorants and dyes.

Head to the link in my bio to check out Desire Gummies and get a discount when you choose a subscription, or use code HAYET15 for 15% off your order through 8/19 at 11:59 pm.

‡ For adults only. Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a cool dry place. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking any medications, or have any medical condition, consult your doctor before use. Discontinue use and consult your doctor if any adverse reactions occur. Do not use it if the seal under the cap is broken or missing.

I often think about how our biggest challenge as humans is that we can convince ourselves that if we are not innately talented in a specific area we will not be good at it.
Here’s a bit of my journey to unlocking creativity. When I was in fifth form I took an art class. I only took the art class because within that timeframe the only two options of classes to take were art or chemistry. one thing I understood was I did not have the patience or the interest in chemistry to take it. So when I walked into my art class I told the teacher I’m not good at art but I’m just here. I also then attempted to drop the class and take chemistry when in our first session he said we had to draw a basketball for about an hour. One of my biggest blessings was that he did not sign the paper to allow me to drop the class. He actually refused no matter how much i begged. He later told me that even though I didnt have the natural talent to draw, he understood that I was curious. The best student is one who is a sponge to info.
Over the next three years he did not teach me how to draw but he taught me the art of understanding light and how it creates shapes. He always reminded me that you do not need to know how to draw you just need to understand how light and dark works. One of the biggest blessings of this was I then went on to college and studied drawing professionally for four years where I would draw human figures that moved for three - four hours at a time. Always remembering and talking myself off the ledge that I knew how to draw but I knew how to understand how light and dark lead on shapes.

Many times we approach things like creativity, influencing, business, entrepreneurship and tell ourselves we are not good at it. Now I remind you that we may not be innately good at it but once we learn the fundamentals we can become good enough at it.

Just a little reminder as you try and talk yourself out of your dreams today.

Ps- my teachers name is Mr.Agbenyeke and he is who I continue to credit for my actual journey into creativity and 100% of who I am today. 🤎

This week has been filled with so much inside anger for me. The feeling like you are climbing the escalator the wrong way and no matter how hard you try, the s**t…it dont move. There is also a feeling of being alone. Having to figure things out alone. Crumbling while building is the best way to describe it.
You will face these moments, but they will build you. They will anchor you and they will redefine you.
I told myself I didnt need to force myself to feel better. I didnt need to practice toxic positivity or gratitude this week. But I simply wasnt allowed to stop.
Im still in my dark hole, but with any dark room you find yourself in…your eyes will learn to adjust…just enough until you find light again.

To all the people simply just trying. This is your internet hug. Do not give up. EVER

Not too long ago I decided to create a bucketlist - a fun and different way of creating accountability, and challenging myself to show up for myself physically, so that I had the energy and mental capacity to pursue my passion projects one by one.

It’s safe to say that something so seemingly minor as my gym attire, including these High-Rise Pant 28" has made all the difference in the world, and I’m creating the things that I set out to do, slowly but surely. If you need pieces that will give you an added boost at the gym, I’ve shared my favorites in my highlight

Manic mornings used to be how I started my day – it took a minute but I now cherish my quiet morning routine where I get to connect with myself in my newfound love for Yoga. The stretch that attire has, and the way their pieces hug my curves? I feel safe right from the moment I step onto my lululemon Yoga mat. If you’re looking to start your wellness journey my lululemon highlight has everything you need to get started.

When I travel I’m often asked “Can you put together a guide?” With the app Out Of Office, you can add real-life recommendations from around the world, what you ordered from a specific restaurant, and which waiter to ask for the best service. It’s so handy and super simple to use – all you have to do is download the app “Out of Office”. If you need inspiration for your next weekend getaway or holiday, go to my profile and browse through the guides I’ve created. Ghana? NYC? I’ve discovered so many hidden gems, and have managed to grab my Out Of Office app to curate a list of places to visit and things to do, just for you. Go Out Of Office. You deserve an uninterrupted summer 😉

I often lift at 4am and I don’t always have time to make a snack that has enough protein and great taste to power through my training session and the busy morning that starts right after! No lie, Special K Protein Meal Bars taste absolutely amazing — pretty much like having peanut butter dipped in chocolate, and it has 12G of protein (which you have all heard me preach about), plus to make it even better . . . it is a great-tasting source of fiber. Tap the link in my bio and grab these to power you through a workout or working from home . . . and to my ladies who know the struggle of spending long hours at the hair salon . . . you are welcome!

An ode to the work of a creator.
Creativity heals.
Creativity is purpose.
Creativity will comfort in all situations.
Never stop learning.
Never stop being curious.
Don’t ever feel like you arent doing well enough. You are doing your best with what you know.
Step by step.
It isnt fun
It is sometimes selfless, and unrewarding.
Creativity heals.

It has honestly been so fun seeing the reactions to the SHOWTIME series. The First Lady, whether it is the fashion or the regality, I know for sure that I will be sticking around for every episode!
I often reflect about what it means to have a sense of knowing. It’s not about sitting down and hoping that your future brings you success, but having a deep knowing and aligning your path towards that. We have the privilege of having seen the life of our former first lady play out in our generation. She had a clear vision for the woman she wanted to be, and didn’t take anyone’s  attempt to derail her. As you think of your life’s plan, how many of us focus on a thing we want to do vs a feeling we want to have forever. Just my thoughts.

If you want to see what I mean in this mental processing of words, make sure to tune in to The First Lady, now streaming on SHOWTIME.

Click the link in my bio for a special offer to try SHOWTIME free for 30 days, and then it’s just 3.99/a month for the first 4 months.

*New customers only, terms may apply.

As of this morning, subscriptions are now available to most creators in the USA.
What this means is that creators can charge a premium for specific aspects of content (as little as $4.99 a month)
Now the issue is every time a new feature on the platform launches everybody is quick to jump in without thinking through what the approach to it is. I want to encourage you to take a second and think about the types of content you offer to your audience on an open forum, this allows for you to have growth and for you to attract more people to your page.
Within that think through what part of your content is premium. You dancing on a boat with your girlfriends is not premium content that somebody wants to pay money for. Think again and think clearly about which aspects of your content you are going to use for acquisition and which part you are going to offer as a luxury premium service.

Excited to see what you all do happy Tuesday

A big congratulations to the team that worked for months to bring this to life! Excited to have been a part of it 🤎

Many wonder why they cant seem to find their purpose in life.
Its pretty simple.
You are running away from pain and failure. That is the purpose compass. Sit in there and your purpose will appear to you clear as day. No lie.
Happy monday🤎

People often tell you move in silence because people are going to sabotage your dreams.
Well what if we challenge that and encourage each other to move in strategic silence.

Many times there are benefits to sharing our dreams. The right people in your circle can help you think about things differently, they can connect you to resources, they can connect you to the right people to bring things to life. All of those things would not be possible if you moved in total silence.

The real work is choosing who you’re silent around, and who you speak loudly in front of. Doesn’t mean people are bad, some people are just not designed to help in all aspects of your life.
These are my evening thoughts on this fine Saturday.

Photos from Hayet Rida's post 13/04/2022

I did another thing and set another new personal time for myself.

A year ago I ran a virtual 10k in 1 hour 35 minutes and boy did that almost end me. It was the longest distance I had ran ever.

Two weeks ago I did an 8k at 1 hour 21 minutes.

This past weekend I beat my own time and came in at 1 hour 27 minutes for the 10k. Shaving off a good 8 minutes of my time.

The goal this year? Get as many darn medals as my body, my hips and my knee will let me.
Biggest takeaway I learned the hard was is that this whole s**t is mental and in your head. At the end of this race, I was 500m from the end and I almost gave up. My knee was in pain, I had a sharp pain on my side (later found out I had re-opened a surgical incision while running🥵), and my body was literally giving up.
I kept repeating words…left foot, right foot. Left foot, right foot.
My finish photo (last slide)shows my pain but I did it.

10 more days till my next 10k race😅🤷🏾‍♀️👏🏾

Oh baby girl. We are doing the best we can.
Now one thing I will always love is how I look at myself in the mirror. Actual admiration.
This is a post to just say baby girl, you can rest, we have it from here. 🤎

Photos from Hayet Rida's post 10/04/2022

I am not confident at all. I just have mastered the ability to show up past my insecurities. I have mastered the ability to emulate emotions through photoshoots, but my words are my true-est mirror.
I often do not feel enough, rooted in deeeep trauma that growing up overweight made me lesser than. It manifested into an overworker mindset. This idea that I dont have the physical advantage, so my work ethic, leadership and brain would get me the feeling of being loved or enough. It manifested into dating people I knew were bad for me, but holding onto the fact that maybe if I changed I would be enough.
I have imposter syndrome all the dam time. I move through successes without ever giving myself a pat on the back because most of it is rooted in proving people wrong.
I still dont think I am beautiful, honestly because my understanding of the word itself has always been through male gaze so I honestly do not often feel qualified to bestow such a compliment on myself.
I love mirrors because I like the woman in there and who she embodies, but I dont often make the connection that she is me. I didnt realize until I started to feel jealous of the woman in the mirror not making the obvious connection.
I struggle with body dismorphia and at a different size cannot mentally bring myself to buy clothes that fit me. I find comfort in my bigger clothes and only wear fitting stuff for shoots.
This is what healing looks like. Being able to share how I act as a result of things that happened, but without carrying them as a stain of who I am. I love to heal out loud because I know it releases a tension in each of you reading this. A gentle soothing of knowing I am just like you.
Healing isnt linear, it is up and down and round and round. But the best healing is when you share what would have once broken you and smile with pride at your understanding of self. 🤎
Xoxo
Happy Sunday

When you decide to become a creator/influencer nobody welcomes you with open arms, there is no orientation of what to do and what not to do. I have a one little trick I always want to teach people, and that is how to use the different products on each platform differently.

The biggest mistake people make is put the same contents on reels, in feed, and on stories.

Feed: Think of this as the magazine cover, it is the highly polished thing that is bold colorful or striking. This is designed to stop people while they are scrolling. The things that work are bd expressions, bold colors, interesting poses or compositions, or striking words.

Think about reels as quick compositions of information. It could be a highlight reel of your vacation, quick reels about a review, quick things you like, quick things you are trying. Etc always think of reels as a trailer to lead your audience to get more information in other parts of the platform.

now when it comes to Instagram stories, this is where a lot of people get it wrong. The name itself tells us we need to be telling stories. Even if you’re working on a brand campaign and they tell you to only have three story sets, think about how you can use stories to lead up to it, and stories to transition your audience out of it. If you do this effectively there is no need for putting up slides that say ad break.
I often use strategies called signaling to lead up to a piece of content I’m going to put up. For example when I know I’m going to share my skin routine, the stories before talk about the different products I have been experimenting, or bring to light some of my skin issues. That way when I now put in a story about my new skin routine, my audience was already signaled and was ready for me to serve that information.

I repeat do not put the exact same pieces of content across all places on the platform. It might be the same theme but how you bring it to life everywhere is different.

just thought I would share some quick tips.

So what do u post online on the days when you have nothing to say?
The answer is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
In a convo yesterday, I had a long deep unearthing it the “value of silence”.
We often fear that in the creator world where consistency and exposure are the keys to securing a piece of the pie, we have to always be talking and sharing.
Give yourself the permission to be silent. Your value, your craft and your community are not dependent on how much you post.

Oh wait, and get this.

What if consistency wasn’t about how many times you post…but consistency of purpose of posts. If that means you post once a week…if its purposeful, that leaves a mark on your community that is worth more than the noise.

Take it from the girl who works at IG, u dont have to jump on every trending audio, or trend to be relevant. You have to make connections to be relevant, make deeeeeep connections.
These are my morning thoughts.
Get in the ring then it all seems clearer. U cant boo from the stands.

You are often going to feel like when it rains it pours. The weight of constant disappointment, every door that was built will feel like it is shut in your face. Every foundation you carefully laid down will feel like it is crumbling. You will have moments when you sit and wail because you have no other way to express the feeling of being lost.
Those my dear are the moments that MAKE YOU. Those are the moments that form your armour.
In these moments I choose to simply surrender. To sometimes cry out and say, God whatever the plan is, I give up trying to fight against your direction. I release my need to control and strategize a future I have never had the power to see.
That is called surrendering to your gift. Let it present itself to you in your lowest moments.
Pivot at times of deep despair.
Keep your head up. It always gets better, but you have to GO THROUGH IT to understand what better feels like.
Love love love to anyone who reads this and feels a release.
Progress will always be better than perfection. If you need to hide until you truly feel that, then do what you need.

When I started my blog 7 years ago, It was the loneliest feeling ever. I had a vision but legit didnt have guidance. Every online course was as expensive as some tuition, and I didnt know who the expert was.
For the next 7 years, the strategist in me built, tested and created case studies I would teach to people at every journey!
This weekend I am so excited to teach three classes:
1. How to prep your page to attract partnerships.
2. How to plan and create content for the future
3. How to price your content when working with brands.
