Your friendly Monday reminder that your body belongs to you, you get to decide what makes you feel attractive, confident and comfortable, and you get to decide how to care for your body.
Societal pressure to conform to beauty standards can feel like an impossible burden. Couple that with the way that gender performance and body hair is intertwined with fashion and it makes for some seriously tough expectations to navigate.
Though your feelings about your own appearance will inevitably be impacted by media, social norms, family, friends and other significant forces, how you choose to present your body to the world is entirely up to you.
In short, only shave if you want.

Important to keep in mind! Take care of yourself in these hot summer days!

PSA🚨 Anti-depressants that can increase your risk of heat stroke. Stay in the shade as much as possible, drink some water or electrolyte drinks - That goes for everyone in this heat!

If you’re concerned speak with your doctor and don’t stop taking your medication without consulting them first. 🙂

Posted • This is how we turn our wounds into pride identifications. In order to cope with the shame they burden us with.

When we say we don't need anyone, we are actually saying that we don't feel as though we matter enough for someone to truly be with us in our need.

When we say we don't need anyone, we are saying that we don't really trust or want to rely on others for our emotional/physical needs because we expect them to fail us, shame us, abandon us in our need.

When we say we don't need anyone, we are afraid that our vulnerability will be exploited, mocked or used against us instead of welcomed & held.

Needing someone on the other hand means that we expect for our needs to met.

It means that we feel important enough for others to be there for us.

It means that we feel as though we matter enough to have needs. To express them. To have them fulfilled.

Needing others is admitting to our humanness, our raw & vulnerable nature that demands that we do indeed rely on each other.

Needing & relying on others despite being failed means we finally understand that, we were never too much or not important enough - we were actually raised by people who couldn't properly meet us the way they should have.
