These core samples are from the base of lake Rororoa. Scientists and academics please avert your eyes now as I explain what this is in human language 🤣
The white bit in the dark bit in the short pipe photo is one of the many examples of liquifaction under Lake Rotorua (AKA Hamilton lake. The one by the hospital.) we’re investigating all of this and will show and tell the science as we go. Stay tuned… Thanks to Professor David Lowe for the white bit explanation.
