Honest, handmade music
Now, I was travelling around a bit the past week and sadly didn't have too much time, but here's another Irish Traditional for you folks. "Nancy Whiskey" was written in the early 1900's and performed by many artists afterwards, hell, a Scottish folk singer even named herself after this song. It's a great one and I remember my father singing this a lot when I was little, so many memories are connected to this song.

Well, sometimes you just have a day to forget. Today is one of these days for me. But I actually tried to change the past couple of months and transform these emotions I get from time to time into something more productive. Music. Today, I went with a not too well known song: "Cheap Reward" by Elvis Costello. I actually got to know this one a few years back when the YouTube algorithm suggested I should listen to a version by The Devil Makes Three. Well, here we are. Enjoy and have a great day - better than mine at least.- CR

First time I listened to this song was when I heard Ryan Cook's rendition a few months back. Pretty much instantly made me deep-dive into the work of not only Ryan Cook, but also the original songwriter, Rex Griffin. You may not know him very well, but he wrote a lot of songs you definitely do know. A great example is "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" which gained a lot of popularity when Carl Perkins and, a few years later, The Beatles covered it.
I like this one, "You Got To Go To Work", released as a B-side in 1939, a lot more though to be honest and decided to give it a try myself.

Some days ago, , fellow musician and great human, did a cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice", a beautiful Song written nearly 60 years ago. After listening to Billy Strings' version a lot as well lately, Mr. Silva's version inspired me to do my own rendition. So I grabbed my guitar and well, what can you say. Now, another name was added to the long list of covers. Have a great day everyone.
It has been a few years since I first discovered Smooth Hound Smith. They had this wonderful JamInTheVan session, one of the songs they performed was "Steal Your Crown". It's an incredibly bluesy piece of music that instantly made me a fan. It popped back into my head a few weeks ago so I decided to give it a try and create my own version. Hope I can brighten your day with this one!
