Macrame Raffle For Gaza 🍉🕊️

As a Macrame Artist I am utterly horrified and heartbroken by what has been unfolding in Gaza over the past few months. To try and make a change, I have donated my work to Isabella & Sofia’s Fundraiser. As a team we wanted to try and do something to raise critically needed funds to support those who so desperately need it.

This Prize Draw will raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians who are currently bravely responding to the emergency situation in Gaza where the scale of the humanitarian crisis is unprecedented.

We want to stress that this is about our shared humanity and that we’ve been repeatedly calling for a ceasefire, end to genocide, return of hostages and a lifting of the siege to allow adequate humanitarian aid in.

We have some wonderful prizes generously donated by lovely members of the Macrame community based here in the UK.

These prizes include: Macrame wall hangings, plant hangers, gift sets, macrame supplies, virtual classes and online courses....

Each £5 donation = 1 ticket
Multiple entries = Multiple tickets
Eg: £50 donation = 10 tickets
Each ticket gives you the chance to win one of these generous prizes.

This is one of my latest bespoke XL wall hangings I made, combining luxe natural cotton on this beautiful Welsh driftwood I foraged out one wild wet weekend down on the Gower 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I haven’t had as much time to create as we’ve been focused on the house again, painting and fixing since the kids have returned to school.

Being given the opportunity to make something special for a client is an honour, and I’m really excited to see this piece being used in the future!

What are your thoughts on colour?
Do you prefer more natural cords or colourful cords? I’ve always been partial to a pop of colour, and with all the recent autumnal hues, I’m getting excited to relaunch my leafy collection again!🍁

Sorry for the prolonged abscence. The school holidays seem to take over my creative brain! 😂 I’ve been enjoying the Welsh mountains and coastline and have lots of new ideas and inspirations for Autumn making 🍁

Ever since I was little I found all Latin American indigenous art and music fascinating. This mandala is inspired by the Aztec Sun god Huitzilopochtli 🌞 quite apt with the current climes here in the UK!

After a week by the Cumbrian coast I’m now surrounded by the waves in our cute coastal “cove” here ✨

To make this seascape macraweave, I’ve sanded down and prepped some driftwood from Pembrokeshire I foraged last year, knotted and weaved recycled cotton and bamboo fibres for watery splashy wave effects and golden sands 🌊☀️ Anyone else obsessed with water? Must be the Aquarian in me!

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. I’ve been prioritising family life as well as my health and getting back on track after a tennis injury. Creativity isn’t just something you can switch on or off, and sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin when so much is going on in the world. However I have been feeling really inspired to make more recently, especially now springtime is in full swing 🌷
I picked up some gorgeous pieces of driftwood when walking the coastline in South Wales, which I’ve been lovingly preparing and sanding down for my next big project - I cannot wait to start!!!

Furthermore, today I have the pleasure of finally handing over this wedding gift to great friends, after they commissioned me to make all their wedding favours✨What do you guys think? I used the same colours and cottons, so they will have an everlasting memory of that special day 💐

When I see turquoise my heart literally skips a beat. Bringing back all the incredible memories of hiking around glacial waterfalls in Patagonia and swimming in crystal clear Caribbean seas. I am very fortunate to have the time to reflect and connect with places that made me happy, where I discovered myself and my identity.

Hand painted silk, yummy blue bamboo fibres and the softest turquoise cottons adorn this watery piece… and the driftwood!!! 💚 Let me tell you!
Last summer we had the most beautiful remote trip to the Lleyn, during that firey heatwave week. Keen to explore the local area, we ambled down to the ancient woodland and river, which was a perfect place to cool off surrounded by dragonflies and wild flowers. This is where I spotted this twisty piece of tree treasure🌳 and where the inspiration for this piece began.

As you can imagine, this is one of my busiest times of the year, so I just wanted to say a massive thank you to those of you that have supported my small business these last few weeks. All orders are on their way and my Etsy shop is now shut until the New Year.

Here is my most recent bespoke wall hanging, for my friend’s wife’s 40th. Made with beautiful Welsh driftwood, this hanger combines lots of gorgeous texture with a great palette of colours, such a thoughtful gift! 💕

Made some baby saplings with the cut offs from my latest macrame tree. This bamboo Emerald cord is too good to throw away! 💚 I made the mini trunk using a bamboo straw too ☺️ cute no? All in all sustainable, reused and 100% natural 🌲👌🏾

I hope you’ve all been enjoying my tree collection this week. It’s been great to hear from some fellow tree hugging lovers during 🌳🌴

It’s the first day of December and yes we have indulged on a few chocs this morning, and some much needed cafecitos fuertes to ease the blow of another interrupted night. Thanks to my four year old son!🤪😴
