On this day 99 years ago the man who according to Malcolm X was “The greatest Black man whoever walked the African continent” (Patrice Lumumba) was born and couple of days ago (June 30th) marked 64 years since he helped lead the Democratic Republic of the Congo to declare its independence.
Long live his spirit as the struggle for true independence continues in the Congo and for Afrikan people globally.

If you wanna know what helped Malcolm X develop the patience, empathy, understanding of the issues that impacted our people and the passion to f!ght against them the fact that he was an avid reader played a pivotal role. He read so much in prison that he damaged his vision which is responsible for the iconic glasses he wore.

On this day 89 years ago (March 18, 1935) Frances Cress Welsing was born in Chicago, IL. She was a psychiatrist who received her M.D. from Howard University in 1962. Her most notable work is The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors which was a compilation of essays she wrote in the 1970s and 80s about race relations and the global system of r@cism.
Welsing defined r@cism as:
“…the local and global power system dynamic, structured and maintained by those who classify themselves as wh!te; whether consciously or subconsciously determined; this system consists of patterns of perception, logic, symbol formation, thought, speech, action and emotional response, as conducted simultaneously in all areas of people activity: economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, s*ex, and w@r…”
