This cute little bunny was munching on a daisy outside our cottage. It was so gorgeous 🥰
This crow didn’t see to mind the rain. I loved the way the rain made it shimmer in the light. 🥰 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
The Soggy Squirrels! This first squirrel was a not a big fan of the rain trying to stay dry in a knot, unsuccessfully! The other squirrel didn’t seem to give a damn! 🤣 🐿️ Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
Love the colours of a jay. They’re one of the more colourful corvids. 🥰 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
Do the funky chicken! 😁 ok they’re not very exotic but this is one of 3 chickens I’ve befriended on holiday! One of them came running at me today for my bird seed! 🤣🤣 🐓 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
A first for me today, I’ve seen smaller birds do this such as Robins but was fascinated to see this crow do it. Using the sun to help rid them of parasites apparently. Nature is so fascinating. 🤓 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
The Squirrel versus the crow! It was quite amusing watching these two yesterday from my holiday cottage in Cornwall. 😊 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
Some more of the amazing short earred owl at Farlington. I’m really hoping I get to see them again, such a beautiful bird.
So lucky to see the short earred owls at Farlington on Sunday. Not much of a flyby but one of them was happy to pose. Sadly quite heavily cropped and not my best lens as I’m a bit out of practice and arm strength to lug the big one about. Maybe next time. 😁💪
These young fallow deer were very sweet. One I managed to get in action and good light. The other one was checking me out then it was joined by its mate, both just staring trying to work me out! 🤣
One of the amazing Bellowing fallow deer Bucks at Petworth Park last week. Such a beautiful place. I’ve not been out with my camera for several months, life just seemed to get busy but hopefully I can spend more time out and about with it over the coming months.
This greedy magpie was stealing most the fat balls I set out to encourage some of the birds living around our cottage last week. However when it turned around I saw it had a very bald chest which was unusual to see. Other than that it seemed quite healthy.
Some of the lovely chickens that were on the run at Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall last week. They insisted on escaping the safety of their enclosure. Sadly not all of them returned home as they were supposed to, but we are all hoping it’s gone on an exciting adventure and is not related to a pile of feathers located on the grounds! 🫣🤔🤣
Whilst at our lovely cottage last week we often got these bunny’s hanging out in front of the patio doors. They were very sweet and must’ve eaten their body weight in greenery.
This week I'm on a lovely break to Cornwall and I'm staying at a holiday cottage near Perranporth. Took these pictures of a rather damp Jay whilst sat on the sofa in the dry! It's like our lounge is a bird hide! 😁 We absolutely love this place. 🥰 Croft Farm Holiday Cottages, Goonhavern, Cornwall
Some of the amazing red deer stags and does in the New Forest. Such amazing majestic beasts.
Some Dunnocks I spotted in the New Forest. One has quite the meal in its beak of a big juicy insect. With their darker colour they can sometimes be harder to spot than other birds.
Some more of the white deer I’ve seen in the New Forest. When you get a closer look they’re not as white as they look. Many believe them to be albino and while there are these deer out there you can tell by their eyes these are not albino. These are fallow deer, the white hart is a white red deer stag, a much larger and rarer beast.
The loud song of a thrush in the evening is a lovely thing to hear. There were a couple basking in the last rays of light of the evening a few weeks ago while I was staying in the New Forest.
A sneaky Nuthatch snooping around a tree a few weeks back in the New Forest. I love the fluffiness of the feathers on its side.
Whilst staying in the New Forest a couple of weeks ago I saw so many tree creepers whilst walking in the woods. Such amazing little birds, watching them climb the trees, picking at the bugs in the cracks.
A very exciting day for me in the new forest the other week. My first ever sighting of the pretty rare, lesser spotted woodpecker! My friends and I could hear the loud tapping of a woodpecker and fortunately the tree was in a clearing. When I finally spotted it, it was the size of a sparrow, not what I expected! I was so excited that it was the lesser spotted woodpecker, so small but made so much noise. I was grinning from ear to ear I can tell you! 😁
Some of the many fallow deer roaming the new forest. It’s such a magical place I can’t wait to go back there camping again next week. There’s so much to see and explore.
Some magnificent red deer I spotted in the new forest last week. They’re so much bigger than the fallow deer more often seen in the forest. Love the light shining on the antlers. 🥰
My first ever sighting of Egyptian Geese. These were at Farlington a couple of weeks ago. They’re very striking looking, like they have eye make up on.
Some beautiful linnets at Farlington Marshes a couple of weeks ago. The last sun of the day caught their red chests and brought out all their colours.
Some striking whitethroats seen at Farlington marshes a couple of weeks ago. They’re so lovely to see in the bushes and pretty easy to spot with that bright white patch on their front.
A beautiful kestrel in flight last week at Hillhead. Amazing how they hover and their gaze is so fixed. The wings working so hard yet the head barely moves. Amazing birds. 🥰
Marsh harrier flyby at Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve. Amazing to watch how they glide around the reserve. I’m so privileged to live so close to this wonderful reserve where I can see majestic birds of prey like this. 🥰
Everyone loves a long tailed tit! Little bundles of fluff that fly with yellow eyeliner! 😉 I love them, there was a small group of them making their way along Titchfield canal path last week. Gorgeous. 🥰
